Elstree Court Care Home, located in Meads Village, just outside Eastbourne, provides personalised nursing and residential care in a well equipped and welcoming setting.

Each and every member of the professional care team is there to assist you or your loved one in settling into life at Elstree Court. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the care sector, the home manager leads the team to ensure residents are supported to lead their best lives.

The catering team at Elstree Court create delicious meals to ensure a lovely dining experience, and the dining areas provide a welcoming space to enjoy meals with fellow residents, or family and friends. During the warmer months, the outdoor spaces are also firm favourites with residents and their loved ones to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining.

The experienced and compassionate care team at Elstree Court like to learn about each resident’s hobbies and interests to design a comprehensive activity programme, supporting residents to continue well-loved hobbies or try their hand at something new.

As well as building a great community inside the home, residents are supported to take an active role in the Meads Village community if they wish to, connecting with local community groups and schools or visiting local establishments on regular trips out.

Genuine warm welcome on arrival, staff ready to help settle in. Very good home cooked food - with choice.

The experience of my Mum going into care was scary for me, it followed a stroke and I am coping with it alone.


The staff here are what makes all the difference, they truly care about my mum and despite her being given 4 days to 4 weeks to live she is actually improving 12 weeks later.


She has

not been left to vegetate in bed, she is now down in the lounge in a wheelchair daily.


Minor medical needs that have come up have been spotted by staff and taken care of.


I visit daily and it feels like a second home.


Mum seems happy and very cared for which is one less worry for me.


The building and grounds are also lovely and peaceful but that’s just an aside really.


The management is also knowledgeable about mum's care and is also involved, quite a family there overall.


Sad situation but very happy.

All in all a constructive meeting. It would be very good to see more trips out regarding minibus being provided. Everything else is a very good service.

'I do like to be beside the seaside' - these words rang true on a lovely day this week. A large group of residents - with carers and nurses - enjoyed an afternoon on the promenade in glorious weather with blue skies and a calm sea.
Then came a super buffet which concluded with a gorgeous ice cream
each.
Smiles beamed everywhere. This gives hearty thanks for a memorable day to such a devoted and caring staff.

Staff members (nurses, carers and admin) are all very helpful and friendly. Also good at giving information.
In general happy with the service.
Only comment; Occasionally might have to wait for someone to come to help.
Suggestion; All residents be given a bracelet/necklace (instead of the big alarm).

I came into this care home after a three-week hospital period for at least a two-week period of respite care, longer if required.
I really enjoyed staying here. The staff and patients have been helpful.

Having been here for a short time my early impressions are positive.
Management welcoming and helpful.
Staff are friendly, kind and good at their jobs.
Patients need to be understanding that carers care for many other patients at the same time and sometimes need to wait a while for non-urgent help.
The
atmosphere here is quiet and tranquil and much to my liking.

Overall, my father received excellent care over the 3 weeks he stayed at Elstree Court. A very homely atmosphere, with excellent attention from the staff. The only negative point was organisation of medication supply for my father (I had to organise the supply of three items in the short term).
Otherwise,

I reviewed many nursing homes in the Eastbourne area recently when my mother needed to go into care. Although she has now only been there for a few weeks, I am more than satisfied that I made the right choice. The room and facilities are excellent, the staff clearly striving to treat residents (and
visitors) with care and consideration. There are less expensive homes, but there are also more expensive too. There are no hidden extras here. Perfect? Not quite all the time of course, but as close as anyone could reasonably expect.

Elstree Court has been my mother's home for four years. I have always found all the staff caring and always treated my mother with great respect. It also became part of my life talking with staff and always given a warm welcome.
At the end of my mothers live they continued this care and beyond. I will
always be thankful to them

I have found the home to be welcoming, caring and professionally run. All staff are excellent and my mum-in-law is receiving exceptional care in a friendly and empathetic environment. Yolanda De Castro

Job Title: Home Manager

“For me, it’s showing compassion to every Resident, taking the
time to listen and going the extra mile to support their needs.”


As a Registered Nurse, Yolanda has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Yolanda closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Elstree Court.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Yolanda remarked:


“I just love to see all of the Residents and staff happy to be in the home.”


Outside of work, Yolanda enjoys cycling, cooking and watching her all-time favourite films.
