Heffle Court Care Home is situated in Heathfield, East Sussex, in an area of outstanding natural beauty providing nursing and residential dementia care for up to 39 residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other progressive dementias, including trial stays, short stays, convalescent care and long-term care for individuals or couples.

Heathfield is a vibrant market town surrounded by beautiful East Sussex countryside. The home benefits from its close proximity to the town with a wide selection of shops and other amenities being within easy reach, enabling residents to maintain close links with the local community and surrounding area.

The home's aim is to provide a comfortable and enjoyable home with a friendly and companionable atmosphere, where residents can enjoy the highest standard of care from highly trained and qualified staff. Specialist dementia training allows the team to offer quality support to residents living with the condition and the kitchen team also undergo this training, ensuring every area of care is covered to meet the individual needs of residents.

My mother has been in the care home for 6 years. The staff changes on a regular basis but one the whole they are really good. Over the years, we have had our ups and downs but they have always resolved the problems.

My mother in law had dementia and lived in Heffle Court Nursing Home and she was extremely happy there. She developed an illness and had to be admitted to hospital. The home helped me get her back to them for end of life care. The staff were absolutely amazing in caring for her in her last few weeks.
I live in Australia but spent 3 weeks with her. The staff also looked after me and gave me amazing support. The staff looked after her as if she was their own mother, it was wonderful to witness. I cannot speak highly enough of Heffle Court. I will never forget them, truly amazing experience.

We have been visiting Heffle Court Care Home with Nursing since August 2016. The staff are all always friendly and helpful and always offering a cup of tea. The residents are cared for well, the staff are always on hand and caring.
Activities are always offered. Plenty of drinks for the residents.
The cleaners are also very caring towards residents offering to clean glasses and offering tissues for sneezes.

My mother has been well looked after during her time here for 14 months so far. The care staff and other staff are friendly and make a real effort to give the residents as good a quality of life as possible. I feel I can trust them which helps a lot. For most visits, I come away feeling positive.

My overall assessment of this home is that "care" is the key word. I cannot speak too highly of the staff's attitude, both to the resident and to me. The atmosphere is friendly, but nonetheless, quietly efficient. I feel the level of staff could be increased to enable more individual contact and care
and to make it more possible for the existing staff to be effective. I do feel there are occasions when they need to be in more than once place at the same time. That said, there is never any sign of panic. I feel staff training must be good.to obtain the level of competence shown.


My requirements are; safety; physical and (as far as the illness allows) mental well-being; maintenance of dignity and respect for his wishes. All of these are delivered.


The building and contents are looking "tired" but aren't of primary importance. Laundry has been a problem: 2, possibly 3, tweed jackets put through the washing machine - not acceptable but complaint being followed up.

The care provided here is excellent and consistently so. The staff are well trained in dementia care. They are excellent, caring, sensitive and professional at all times. The home is warm and friendly. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming. I cannot praise Heffle Court more highly.

My father has not been the easiest of residents to deal with, however, the staff and management have been wonderful not only with him but in trying to make things better for him. They go out of their way to think of ways to bring him out of himself. I am constantly overwhelmed by their kind, caring
and understanding attitude to what can be very volatile situations. I simply cannot praise this home and it's incredible staff and management enough.

My aunt was very poorly when she came into Heffle Court. They have built her up, made her sociable around others, her weight has increased and she is happy in every element. A fantastic service and home. I would recommend Heffle Court to all my friends.

All the staff at Heffle Court are kind, caring and thoughtful. They prepared a wonderful 60th wedding anniversary tea for my parents which was a great comfort for my mother. Nothing is too much trouble and it is staff that make Heffle Court a home from home! Thank you!

The home is very caring and the staff are always kind and make the patients comfortable and give them love and personal care attention which is so important. My husband has been in Heffle Court for two years and he has been very well cared for. The staff are warm and give lots of love to each patient.
There are activities available to those who are able to participate which is excellent. Staff work very hard to make life as pleasant as possible for everybody.
