We appreciate your positive review and are pleased to know that our team was most helpful. We are always happy to assist you in any way.
A well run home with exceptionally caring staff and amazing activities team. I could not be happier with the support my wife receives. She is face, clean and really enjoys all the activities provided.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Were delighted to hear that youre happy with the care and support your wife receives, and that she enjoys the activities provided. Your feedback means a great deal to our team, who work hard to create a safe, caring, and engaging environment for all our residents. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
All the staff have been very kind and caring towards my wife. The nurses have redressed my wife's legs on a regular basis with sensitivity and kindness. The events staff do their best to make the days interesting and entertaining.
Thank you for your kind words. It was a pleasure to have your wife stay with us at The Laurels. I'm glad you both enjoyed your stay and took part in the activities. We hope to see you again soon. We miss seeing you all and Lucy everyday.
Overall excellent!! Thanks from my heart!!
We couldn't have asked for a better nursing home than The Laurels.
Thank you so much for the lovely review. We really appreciate the feed back. This will be passed on to the staff team.
We had a few hiccups in the beginning whilst we were all getting to know each other, but gradually after a change in management things improved. We were encouraged to voice our opinions in order to improve the service to our loved ones, we work together (patient, partners and management) to facilitate better delivery, people are kind and caring and on the whole The Laurels is a happy place to be.
Thank you for your review we continue to work with you all to ensure we continue to improve, and ensure best outcomes from everyone. Thank you for your support.
From the moment Dad arrived, he was greeted with genuine warmth and dignity. After a long hospital stay, he faced the challenge of adjusting back to a routine, and every staff member played a role in helping him-especially on the difficult days. He was always treated with care, respect, and patience.
We went from preparing to say goodbye to Dad to watching him walk himself to the lounge for activities, engaging in conversations, and truly enjoying life again. That transformation is a testament to the power of excellent care.
Good care, good food, and incredible staff make all the difference. If we could pick up The Laurels and move it closer to home, we would in a heartbeat!
We miss you all.
Thank you for your kind words. It was a pleasure to look after and care for your Dad, and I'm glad we were able to make a difference in the short time that he was with us.
Having dementia Dad wasn't involved in any of the activities. But I saw a group of ladies grouped together every day, enjoying what was on offer. Once I overheard "Thanks for another wonderful day" to the activity leader. There's a sense of community.
One thing to improve is definitely the weekend office hours. Waiting to be let in and out takes away precious time with relatives, on most people's only day off. And it would be helpful to have someone to ask questions / leave messages with for senior staff to get back to.
The person being cared for was shown no dignity. They were left in bed day and night. When I rang for assistance on two occasions it took 30 mins for a member of staff to attend. The floor where this person was had a shared lounge space with a small kitchen. I saw dirty /broken blinds and I witnessed residents shouting for assistance and no help. Bins under sink open without lids. Dirty unwiped surfaces and used plaster seen on side. Personal care was poor, incontinence pads placed loose on client /no nets /no pants. Skin care and mouth care poor. Food around mouth, on clothes and bedding, found from previous day. Drink never available beside within reach of client. No attempt at enrichment or stimulating activities for client. Client became unwell, family told she would be nursed by the home on the 'peace pathway'. Husband asked for wife to be taken to hospital. Wife was severely dehydrated, improved, now thriving in new residential. Vulnerable clients with memory issues deserve better.

For the short time our Mum was in the care of The Laurels we have nothing but good words for the care home. Mum's last few weeks were very hard on her and the staff from top to bottom at The Laurels were exceptional and ensured her last few weeks were comfortable and caring.
Dad passed away at the Laurels in June and we spent the last week with him. The staff made us feel so welcome offering drinks and snacks at all hours of the day and through the night. I had only ever heard horror stories of nursing homes but as soon as my Mum visited the Laurels she knew she wanted Dad to go there as she said it was small and friendly and she was spot on.
The last week my dad was non-responsive it made us feel so lucky as the staff would still pop in and talk with Dad and the fact they all knew him right up to the senior team who would often stop for a chat.
So many members of their team went out of their way to make Dad's time easier and I thank them all.
Professional and kind staff.
It's great to hear your positive experience. Thank you for taking the time to write your review and rate our service.
My father spent a short time at The Laurels Nursing Home - where he died. I feel that he was very well looked after and could not have been in a better place. The staff and management were attentive, friendly and helpful and knew their job very well. Special thanks to the deputy manager who was very understanding and helpful.
Thank you very much for your kind words. We were privileged to care for your father in his last weeks of life.
Although my father only spent a very short time at The Laurels Nursing Home, we, as a family, could not have wished for better care. He passed away there and the staff were simply wonderful to him and to us. We thank them for their care and attention to detail.
It was our privilege to care for your father in the time he was with us and we are very grateful for your kind words. Knowing that we have helped to make a positive difference to our residents and their families is all the reward we need. Best wishes.
The team at the Laurels are the kindest, most sincere and most caring staff you’ll ever be fortunate enough to meet! This nursing home is very special, they looked after my mother-in-law in the last 7 weeks of her life. Their care for her was exemplary and the care and support they have provided us has been so full of kindness. Cannot find the words to express how grateful we are to all the staff. Thank you.
I'm very grateful to you for your kind words. It was our pleasure to care for your mother-in-law and our privilege.
My son is treated very well with some staff going beyond their jobs to make sure he is comfortable. It's a pleasure to go in here with such a warm atmosphere and all the staff treat visitors like friends.
It's good to hear your positive view of our team's care of your son and the welcome you receive when you visit. Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review.
The staff are very kind and helpful and they provide the best care. The care home is very clean and the food is very good.

My mother has always seemed content and happy at the Laurels visiting her it is evident that a high level of personal and medical care is provided. The staff are unfailingly helpful and kind. As a family member, this is very reassuring I would recommend the Laurels wholeheartedly.

My dad received excellent care in The Laurels, thank you for looking after him so well, especially at the time of his passing recently. It is well run, the staff are attentive and friendly, and we always found it clean and tidy when we visited. The food was good too; fresh and homemade.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It's always pleasing to hear that the efforts of the whole team have made a positive difference to our residents and their families.
The care and compassion given to my mum has been outstanding. All the staff are very friendly from the office right through to the cleaners. Mum has been very happy here.
