Lack of bed changing, dull room, no colours or pictures. The manager never came to see if I was alright. No blood pressure, blood sugars or temperature taken. Being left without water, food very poor, soup too salty.
Not pleasant having males to attend toilet.
Nurses could have been smarter. More staff needed, the girls run off their feet. Too greater contrast in type of patients.
Thank you for your review. Family members were met with several times during your stay at the home and all areas were addressed to the best of our capabilities. It has highlighted the need to ensure that our home is the best place to meet the needs of those Residents on temporary placement and is decided in conjunction with East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
In the short time, I have been here the staff have been very kind and caring. The food is good. The first bath in 14 days and I had my hair done and I've been kept informed by your staff every step of the way.
I have found the staff and facilities at The Polegate Care Home to be excellent, would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Their care and attention has helped us a great deal and I thank all the staff for this help.
Very satisfied. This is a well-organised operation with friendly staff and good care and food.
Feel I am leaving good friends behind, not just carers and nurses. Wonderful people, every one of them.
Extremely pleased with all staff and their dedication and assistance in caring to rehabilitation, after trauma.
Excellent.
All of the staff were extremely kind and helpful during my 10-week stay with a non-weight bearing lower leg fracture. I was taught to do many exercises which were of great help and I am still doing them now I am home in order to regain my strength. So now all I can say is "thank you".
I have been extremely well cared for all the time I have been here. The kindness has been wonderful. Thank you.
This care home does not generally take residents with dementia but gave a caring and attentive approach to understanding the needs of my mum. The staff soon learnt Mum's likes and dislikes and I can only highly praise their efforts.
Having used The Polegate Care Home in the past for my mother and father-in-law who were very happy there when my mother needed to go for nursing care and we were told there was one room free we jumped at the offer and in the short time mym has been there, we have been very impressed with everything from care, dignity, kindness and a happy, helpful. Staff and management.
My first time and I am very pleased.
Happy with my care.
Very pleased with the care and treatment.
They looked after my husband very well. I was impressed with the kindness.
I’ve been meaning to write this for a while now. I had to make the decision for my mother to have permanent care. She had a fall and was sent for respite to this home. Well, she loves it and decided she wanted to stay! The process was made easier by the effective and swift management. Mother is happy and content which is what matters. I don’t get down much, but when I do, mother always looks well and I see the same friendly staff always with a smile.
I don’t know where to start. My poor dad was recently diagnosed as terminal, as much as my mother has tried to cope she couldn’t. We were faced with a care home and dreaded it. Everything seemed nice and everyone friendly, but I was very sceptIcal. After a week I visited dad and all I can say is WOW!! What a difference. He looked a little better and was certainly smiling. We know that our time with dad is limited but this care home, thanks to the amazing staff from the manager to the superb housekeeper are making this time one full of nice memories. They keep us up to date and are honest with us. Dad seems happy and mum looks better for him being happy. I highly recommend Polegate Nursing home if you’re looking for a good caring home for your loved one.
We were faced with the awful task of finding care for our dad recently. We visited several homes but The Polegate shone out for us. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Dad reports the food is super! The home is clean and odour free. I am glad my dad is here and gets the support he needs.
This home is amazing. The difference in my father in the short space of time he has been there is phenomenal.
If you're thinking of a care home - this is the one!
Mother appears settled and looks better than I’ve seen her in months. Staff seem friendly and caring. Manager is visible and approachable. Room is not the biggest but adequate. Good selection on menu.
