A lovely place, looks like a grand hotel. Staff are friendly and caring.
My mother entered the home in December 2017. The staff were very understanding in a difficult situation. Mother has settled in very well with no problems. We have had daily contact to begin with, staff always giving us time to discuss any concerns we may have had.
Sunrise has a great atmosphere, a very positive, can-do attitude and residents look very happy and relaxed.

I was greatly impressed with Sunrise of Eastbourne.
It is a very attractive building with lovely gardens.
The food is excellent with lots of options. Beautifully presented, healthy and delicious.
But most importantly the care is second to none.
I was treated with dignity and respect at all times by kind and compassionate carers.
As I have MS my body is not always easy to move-particularly in the morning-but the carers were patient and kind at all times.
Quite simply if you looked up the definition of the word care in a dictionary and you will see Sunrise of Eastbourne care home.
Thank you all very much.
I have returned home feeling stronger both mentally and physically.

My husband, who has advanced Alzheimer's, arrived at Sunrise after 10 days in hospital having had a fall, and subsequently a seizure. Technically he was categorised as palliative and requiring end of life care. My perception of the staff is that they have extraordinary patience but also demonstrate genuine compassion and I'm sure that this has contributed to my husband's growing strength and energy. After just a month his medication was reviewed and it has been arranged for the Speech and Language Therapy team to assess him for a return to normal food. I sense a positive culture at Sunrise and feel confident that my husband's needs are, despite the challenges, being met as well as they can be. I have no hesitation in recommending Sunrise for dementia care.

A lot of help was given prior to moving into Sunrise. Also, the actual moving day was well organised and my sister made to feel welcome.Thank you. Care adequate so far, although it is sometimes difficult to know who you are speaking to, as there are a lot of different members of staff.

I am extremely happy with the care my mother is receiving at Sunrise. The whole process of trying to find permanent residential care is very traumatic and we viewed many care homes in our search, none could compare to Sunrise. The layout has been thoughtfully and creatively designed to be a stimulating environment for someone suffering from dementia, and the attention-to-detail felt truly person-centred. The whole process was so smooth and staff have been helpful and supportive to our family every step of the way. It gives my sister and I great comfort to know our mum is being well looked after in a place that feels 'alive' and stimulating. In this area, I don't think there is any other service that can compare to the warm, welcoming and person-centred quality care that Sunrise offers.

We are extremely pleased with the standard of care over the 9 months my mother-in-law has been a resident. All staff are friendly and helpful. There are lots of activities for the residents, including cooking, music, singing and trips out. Recently she has been involved in serving in the shop in Reminiscence with support from the hosts, which she enjoys immensely. She is very happy and content. We are pleased we chose Sunrise for her dementia care.

End of July was my daughter's wedding day and she wanted my brother to be present. Sunrise organised a taxi and a carer to be with him for the day. The carer was amazing - he was immaculately dressed (in a suit) and was fantastic the whole day. He encouraged my brother to look and smile for photos and ensured that he was happy and able to participate fully. I cannot praise this carer highly enough.

Sunrise of Eastbourne is always a very warm and welcoming place. All of the staff are friendly and seem happy in their work. The service overall is fair to good.
The quality of the care and nursing staff is very good indeed.
The leisure facilities are good - and every effort is made to promote their use.
Although overall, our experience so far has fallen short of our expectations.
We believe, from the opinions expressed by others, that this probably reflects a commonly held view.
In summary, probably good on the whole but certainly could be better.

Diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Dementia in 2012. My mother has been a resident for four years. The quality of care, accommodation, the food and stimulation has been very good throughout her residency. It has been a good place for mum to live and I believe she is happy there.

My mother has been resident in Reminiscence for 6 months now. She has been made very welcome and has settled well. She has benefited from multiple activities such as flower arranging, making dog biscuits for charity, going on regular trips out and fine dining! She looks much healthier than she did on admission and has gained weight. The staff are all very caring. Our family are very pleased that we chose Sunrise.

From the moment we walked into Sunrise, we have been overwhelmed by the quality of the Sunrise experience. We have found the care in Reminiscence to be of a standard we have never known before, we could say 5 stars plus.
The Sunrise property is clean and smells nice, it is in a very good state of repair.
The staff, well all I can say is they are amazing, they CARE. They are loving and respectful, I have never heard anyone be patronising.
Staff are attentive, joyful and efficient, we know that Sunrise is simply the best, what a wonderful place to live, laugh and enjoy the autumn and winter years of life.
Sunrise you are what everyone deserves 'Perfection'.

The staff are all very nice and do their job very well. The food is good for my mum. The room she is in is exceptional, they have many activities during the day, that pleases my mum.

We chose Sunrise of Eastbourne quickly and almost without research and we soon discovered the very best. Best for services and facilities, but most importantly best for the love and care were shown to all of us by ALL of the staff. Everyone has been so kind to my father and all my family. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was offered to make our stay the best it could possibly be. Sunrise of Eastbourne has a brilliant team, experienced, professional, well trained and well-managed. We could not have asked for better or for more.

My mother initially went into Sunrise of Eastbourne for a months respite care having been ill in hospital. We were so pleased with the standard of care the family decided she should remain at Sunrise.
As my mother grew stronger, she was encouraged to participate in activities and began to make friends. She found most of the carers friendly and helpful, she enjoyed mealtimes as the food was very good. My mother and her family liked the spaciousness of the place and she was always warm, clean and comfortable.
I found the staff most helpful at all times and was impressed with the level of communication they maintained with me towards the end of my mothers life.
I have no hesitation on recommending Sunrise to others.

The home is always well organised, friendly and clean.
There are a variety of activities.
When there is a concern of any sort I am consulted and a solution is agreed.
One issue remains inconsistent, that of sustaining my sister's hearing through the way her ears are checked, oil medication is used, or the ears are syringed. We recognise this is not easy to sustain.
The staff I have seen care and respond effectively.

The staff are pleasant and helpful. Nothing seems too much trouble. There is a lovely warm atmosphere that you feel as soon as you enter Sunrise. Lots of activities, plenty of music and themed parties, such as dressing up for Alice in Wonderland teapot party and many other things going on. My sister has been a resident in Sunrise of Eastbourne since October 2008 and she is happy to be there.

My mother entered this community in July 2015. From day one she has been welcomed. Staff have been encouraged over the last 18 months to get to know her and understand her needs and aspirations. They have stepped up to the mark following hospital visits where subsequent care for her changing needs has been required. She has enjoyed good food. she has been offered daily activities. She has been respected if she has chosen not to get involved in group activities. She has celebrated two birthdays since joining the community encouraged by her immediate care staff and the wider community. The staff have made an effort to cheer her up at times of sorrow.

When slight service issues have arisen, the management and staff have reacted well in a timely fashion. The staff accommodate and in the main understand the feelings and desires of the whole family who just want the best for their senior member.

Senior site management remains involved and know their clients.

Sunrise of Eastbourne has been awarded the rating of outstanding for the quality of its care by the Care Quality Commission and good in all other categories. It is a friendly community of elderly and disabled men and women. Personal nursing care over 24 hours helps to maintain a purpose of overcoming aging. Sunrise of Eastbourne us a care home stimulating activity and hope.

I have been here only two months - but everything has been very good. I have a very nice room, all the staff are so kind and helpful.
I am so pleased I do not have to worry about any domestic things as I did in my flat on my own. I am free to come and go - with taxis - at any time. I consider myself lucky to be here.

My mother has now been living at Sunrise Eastbourne for 3 months and loves it. She was finding it too much of a struggle coping with her own flat and wanted to be looked after. We looked at several homes in the area and chose Sunrise. Part of the reason is that my mother can stay at Sunrise even when her needs change. At the moment, she is able to care for her personal hygiene herself but if and when she is unable to, she can remain in the same room at Sunrise but the care given by Sunrise will increase.

She has a very pleasant ensuite room with kitchen area and has taken in her own furniture.

The staff are always very welcoming whenever I visit and my mother finds all the staff very helpful and kind.

There are many activities for the residents to enjoy but no one is forced to do anything.

I am amazed my mother has settled so well and am sure it is mostly down to the staff making her feel so at home.

I had a wonderful stay at Sunrise after an operation. The staff and food were wonderful and my stay there helped me to make a complete recovery. I am a regular visitor and attend the social activities as often as I am able.

I visit on a regular basis and staff are always kind, helpful and friendly. Particularly the concierges - nothing is ever too much trouble. Residents needs appear to be responded to promptly and with patience and kindness.
Bistro facilities are much appreciated. The residents are mostly content and well cared for. A lovely atmosphere.

My mother was welcomed to Sunrise after a very difficult period of physical and mental illness. She was very thin, highly anxious and unhappy. After a very short period at Sunrise she began to gain weight, sleep well and she regained her 'spark', began smiling again. I have visited her at different times of day, on different days, both weekday and weekends and I have consistently observed the staff being gentle, warm and treating my mother with dignity. I get a sense of real affection between residents and staff.

My father moved into Sunrise as respite and it turned into permanent. Every member of staff from concierge, domestics etc through to carers and management have been very kind, caring and professional. My father is not the easiest of individuals but through joint partnership we manage to work together to enable his stay there as comfortable as possible. Wonderful home and i feel very happy when i leave, only negative- would be good to have a list of contact numbers knowing who to speak to when situations arise.

The carers and staff have really been exceptional and very professional throughout dad's stay from 2011 though to his death in November 2015. They have built a very close relationship with dad and this has resulted in the final years of his life being very happy and fulfilled despite a touch of dementia.
The family will be forever grateful for the love and care provided. Albeit at a considerate cost. My only negative would be having to pay for dad's room for 30 days after his death at £85 a day. This seems very commercial and slightly distasteful.

Exemplary care over a five year period with appropriate transition from simple care through to dementia care. Consistent caring, thoughtful, sensitive treatment.

Much more like a hotel than a care home. Bright friendly surroundings and a caring environment. Varied and flexible menu. The Bistro area is a brilliant idea and perfect for meeting and chatting with friends or family. Staff have always been approachable and helpful.

I joined Sunrise Senior Living as a part time wellness nurse in September 2015 and took over the role of Reminiscence Coordinator in February 2016 and in September 2016 I was appointed as the Deputy Manager.

I have been a nurse for 20 years and before I left Romania I was the Occupational Health Nurse for a Petroleum/Chemical Company. In 2010 I came to the UK and joined Sunrise in 2012 as a Bank Nurse. I was so impressed with the beautiful environment, the calm and welcoming atmosphere and the Sunrise ethos of care that I joined the company as a full-time Wellness Nurse. In 2015 I stepped up for six months into the Assisted Living Coordinator role before being appointed permanently.

I enjoy leading a team of dedicated nurses and care assistants who want to ensure our resident's lives are fulfilled to the best of their abilities by delivering bespoke care. No two days are the same and I enjoy caring for our seniors and seeing them flourish. It is so rewarding when new residents arrive and I watch them make friends and start enjoying the many activities on offer and the fabulous food as they become part of our Sunrise family.

Our activities calendar is carefully planned to ensure each resident has an opportunity to take part in a variety of meaningful activities that enrich the mind, body and spirit. As a team we help our residents to embrace each day to ensure it is filled with purpose and laughter. Every month we put on themed events that bring our residents together with their friends and families. I joined Sunrise in January 2013 and every day is still filled with happy daily surprises.

I joined Sunrise in May 2009, as the Business Office Co-ordinator, and in 2013 I transferred to a new role as a Director of Community Relations.

My new role enables me to meet and greet new residents and their families and get much more involved in events for residents within the Eastbourne community and to get to know residents before they move in.

I love my new role and have discovered already that every day is different!
