We were really pleased with the care on all levels given to my father. In addition when he passed away the care assistance and helpfulness of the staff held a great deal during the sad days that have followed.

Gold star all the way round!!

All staff were lovely and patient with my mother in-law and all of the other residents.
They were all very helpful and supportive towards me too.
The food is good home cooking and there is always drinks available.
The lounge is spacious and the residents are supervised and entertained with various activities.

There is a lovely garden and patio area to sit outside when the weather is favourable.

From the very first day that Mum arrived at Glen Arun for end of life care. She was welcomed by all the members of staff. Nothing was too much trouble from the catering staff, laundry, housekeeping, maintenance, carers, nursing, and admin staff everyone played a very special part in her care. Kindness, compassion, love and empathy were in abundance from all members of staff. Although Mum was confined to bed the staff always popped their heads round the door to say hello and have a chat. We would definitely recommend Glen Arun as a second home for your loved ones.

Mum has been a resident at Glen Arun for over 2 years. There were minor issues with the transition to the care home, however any gaps in the required processes have now been addressed by the change in management. Although quite weak and confused when she arrived at the care home, the staff have always ensured that her best interests and personal requirements have been considered, and she is now happy in a regular daily routine. Communication with the management is clear so as a family we are always aware of what is planned and any medical concerns that they have, which gives us great peace of mind. Food is of a good standard, and residents are encouraged to take part in a range of activities. All staff are friendly and very welcoming when we visit. So, our overall experience is of an excellent care home which always has the residents' interests at its heart, and which is open and transparent in all its dealings with their relatives.

We knew the care given by all the staff at Glen Arun was wonderful, as they look after my mother. Therefore, when my aunt and uncle (both in their 90s) needed to move out of their home into somewhere where they could received the care and support for both their personal and medical needs, Glen Arun was the logical choice. They have now been there about 18 months and have really settled in well. They both enjoy the companionship of others in the Day Room and participating in the events with the staff. Even though we visit them several times a week, it's lovely to see them pop up in the Facebook posts enjoying themselves. On occasions when one or other is unwell and stays in bed, we know that there are staff checking on them regularly to make sure their needs are met. We cannot fault anything about the Care Home or the staff - they are all brilliant.

When visiting the staff are courteous and friendly. In the lounge staff are very patient with residents and attentive. Staff encourage residents to eat drink and join in with activities. Rooms are clean and clothes are hung up or put away properly. The menu shows that residents get wholesome familiar food such as fish and chips, shepherds pie, roast dinner, syrup sponge and fruit crumble. A very homely home.

My father spent 6 months in Glen Arun and the care and kindness he received was amazing.
During the last few weeks we were updated on his health frequently in the most caring and compassionate way.
On the days leading up to Dad's passing both he and our family were treated with dignity and kindness.
We spent a lot of time with Dad during his stay and even at the end we could be there as long as we wanted with constant visits from nurses, carers, and the Manager.

I cannot fault this care home and everyone that works there

My mum was admitted to Glen Arun after a stay in hospital and the home environment was no longer suited to her care requirements. During her time at the care home she was cared for with dignity, respect & compassion. As a family we were constantly updated with any changes to mums care.
The fact that all the staff are employed by the home and are not agency staff means there is a sense of pride & community among them. It also ensures a continuity of familiar faces for the residents, which helps to build a level of trust & friendship.

I only hope when my time comes, I am fortunate enough to receive the same level of care. Thank you everyone at Glen Arun.

From the moment my mum arrived at Glen Arun Nursing Home, I felt a sense of relief and calm. We were all welcomed so warmly and each and every member of staff who we came into contact with gave us the feeling that my mum would be not only well looked after but genuinely cared for. She was only, sadly at Glen Arun for a few days of end-of-life care before she passed away. During those few days though she was kept so comfortable, warm and safe and that meant so much to me after all the confusion and anonymity of the hospital environment. Thank you to Glen Arun for making my mum's last days so peaceful.

I visited my friend on 21st June, he had been transferred from East Surrey hospital to have palliative care at the home. I couldn't have been more impressed with the comfortable room that he had been given, or the caring, cheerful staff attending to him. A difficult time, but I'm confident that Alan couldn't be in a better place.

I cannot thank you enough for the excellent care you gave my husband, nothing was too much trouble. His privacy was respected. The kind staff were always positive, caring and encouraging. They were also chatty and fun when needed to be. The food was good with excellent choices and the chef was always happy to make spicy side dishes as requested. My husband enjoyed hearing about the staff's interests and families. I appreciated all the information given to both myself and my sons regarding my husband's care.
