I can’t thank the staff at The Hurst Nursing Home enough. They have had a lot to deal with and have been extremely professional, kind and caring. Nothing is too much of a problem. I would highly recommend The Hurst, the manager and all the staff and care team.

My mum's stay was a short one but we found the staff very accommodating and kind. We were able to make her room homely and we were able to spend as much time as we pleased with her. The chef gave plenty of options. The main nurses were fantastic, they spoke openly with Mum explaining the type of medication
used and supporting her wishes.

I am extremely grateful to the staff at this home and the former management team for the care of my mother over the last three years. However, there is now no management team. This has led to virtually no communication and no understanding of roles or how to resolve problems. I suspect my mother's death
on 27/9/21 was the first one faced by the new regime. Information as to her condition the week before, was hard to come by, they seemed to be unaware of procedure regarding the funeral home which was on file, advice as to the policy regarding the disposal of her possessions was non-existent and money is still owed to her estate over four weeks later despite several attempts to seek resolution. I am now leaving this to the solicitor to pursue the person responsible for finance still not identified! This has been stressful and a difficult time. I would therefore no longer be able to recommend this home. Approach with caution.

My father was transferred to The Hurst from hospital.
It’s only natural to have worries and concerns for your loved one when they have to go into a home, but my mind was soon put to rest.
The home decor is a little dated but very clean and smells fresh.
The staff are all very kind and dad's face
lights up when they come into his room.
His bed is always clean, he personal hygiene needs are met. We are able to chat with the chef regarding dad's diet, the meals are very good, I visit twice a week and feed dad.
There is a garden so residents can sit outside, although sadly dad is too poorly to go out.
We have put pictures up in dad's room and he is as happy and comfortable as he can be.
I can honestly say, that when I’m sat in my house thinking of dad, I’m not at all worried about his well being, as I believe his needs are met with kindness.
We didn’t choose this home, but so lucky for dad, he’s here.

My father was taken to The Hurst Nursing Home on the 25th October straight from the hospital, he had a lovely room downstairs on the ground floor. I found every member of staff so kind and helpful, even down to the chef, who informed me if I would like to have dinner with my Dad, it's not a problem
just go to the kitchen and let him know. As soon as I arrived straight away came a cup of tea which was most welcomed. I cannot comment on activities as Dad never left his room through illness. He has 12 wonderful day's there, with the best care. As soon as I walked through the door to look at the room the vibes were lovely. If you have to put a loved one into a home, I would seriously consider The Hurst.
