Also appreciative of the fact that I can pop in at any time to visit and to sit with him in any of the welcoming lounge areas, and wonderful grounds,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review I am pleased that you are very impressed with the care, attention and support that is given to your your father in law. Welcoming visitors at any time and spending visits in the many different areas of the home is something that is important to ensure that everyone feels welcome.
The first full month for my father as a resident - staff have gone out of their way to make sure he settles as quickly as practical. Never an easy transition from independent living, they have worked hard to understand what works for him / me,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review I am pleased that staff have ensured that he settles well by getting to know him and yourself. It is important part of the move for us to ensure that relatives feel supported and welcomed into the home as well.
I came to visit two lovely residents & to join in with the singing at 11am. Amazing atmosphere in the dining room decorated with Union Jack flags representing V.E.Day. Invited to stay for lunch which was beautifully served. At 3pm I am staying for the sing along. All the staff are dedicated & very caring. Red Oaks is a truly special place.
Thank you very much for the review I am pleased that you enjoyed your day, celebrating days that are meaningful to residents are important. Music is a regular event at Red Oaks and enables residents to make so many connections. We welcome everyone to join in our community choir every Friday at 11am.
The staff go above and beyond and nothing ever seems too much trouble. It gives me real peace of mind knowing he is safe, comfortable and surrounded by people who truly care. I am so grateful to every member of the team. Thank you all for everything you do.

My father came for restbite as his primary carer had to spend some time in hospital. The initial assessment was kind & compassionate and even though it was for a short term stay, alot of time was spent getting to know his interests, hobbies family members etc. There was always engaging activities available. The food options were varied and of good quality. Family members were always made welcome, regardless of when visiting and were well supported through the processes of navigating what was a challenging time.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Getting to know residents at the initial assessments is very important to ensure that we can tailor the care and wellbeing support for the individual from the beginning.
Mum was an urgent placement and was admitted following a care crisis. From day one, communication has been open + transparent, building relationships with staff + residents has been supported and staff take time to listen and learn about mum. Cannot fault the kindness and approach of the staff involved in mums care, the benefits of the activities, meal and medication support has been key in her wellbeing and she has thrived in the home. The rooms, all staff from housekeeping, catering and care are all supportive. Thank you.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review it is very important to us that we are providing excellent communication learning about each person as an individual.
Lucky to have such a good home on our doorstep. Great care, very good food and plenty for residents to do if they wish. A very happy atmosphere feel more like a good hotel. My husband has excellent care and his health is carefully monitored. The beautiful grounds are certainly a bonus. Lovely setting.
Thank you for your review and kind words, providing excellent care and being part of Henfield community is very important to us.
My mum came into Red Oaks as emergency respite care and is now a permanent resident. I can not fault the lovely staff who have been wonderful with mum. The care at Red Oaks is fantastic. They have created a diet plan to feed mum up incorporating her dietary needs. Everyone is so welcoming and I feel so pleased that mum is safe and cared for. It is so lovely to see mum part of a new community/family.
Thank you very much for your review and your kind words with regards to the staff. It is a pleasure to care for Mum, ensuring that dietary plans are in place to tailored to the individual is an important part of care.
Very well geared for residents with dementia. Slightly harder for those without dementia to find like minded people to engage with., but soon made friends
Activities geared mainly to those with dementia. But always trying to offer a variety of activities
Staff excellent became friends. Was always treated with dignity.
The food was not of the same quality as when first admitted, eg to much pepper used, making food not enjoyable.
Rooms on the whole were clean but on a few occasions the en-suite toilet was not clean.
Visitors were always very welcome.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am please that you found that staff were excellent and visitors were always made to feel very welcome. We always welcome feedback to ensure that improvements can be made in the home, your feedback will be given to the teams for these improvements to be made.
She's made good friends with residents and staff alike and is being very well looked after.

The difference was when it came to the inevitable. I can't thank the team enough for all their care and affection and it is heartwarming to know he was made so comfortable in the final stages. A really top nursing home is all about 'the team' and they have created the right atmosphere for their staff to work and residents to live.

My aunt was looked after with dignity and good humoured friendly by all Red Oaks staff. Her preferences and decisions were respected alongside staff's encouragement to accept help when necessary. She was able to live her last couple of years as independently as was possible, vital given her life and character. The end of life care was professional, loving and compassionate with all staff members popping in with a friendly word for her (and us!). Thank you Red Oaks.

Our recently deceased Dad spent the last two and half years of his life at Red Oaks. We have nothing but praise for this care home and without exception, the staff who work there. He sometimes referred to it as his 'hotel' and it was that and so much more. He was treated at all times with great love and affection and nothing was too much trouble for the carers and nursing staff. They made sure his final days were comfortable and dignified and for this and everything else, we are extremely grateful. We will miss you all.
Thank you for taking the time to reply and for the praise that you have given the staff and Red Oaks. It was a pleasure to care for Dad through his journey here at Red Oaks. We will miss you all too.

Meet the Team (11)

I have been a registered nurse for over 20 years. My passion for working with older people in a nursing home environment started with my first registered manager position in 2003. My career has also included positions such as a Practice Development Nurse and a Dementia Specialist. Before Barchester, I was a Director of Care for a luxury retirement village, commissioning both a nursing home and a domiciliary care service. This position involved managing, coaching and mentoring the registered managers.
I am proud of being able to make a difference to peoples' lives by providing high quality, person-centred care in a supportive learning environment within an open and fair culture.
My door is always open for a coffee (or tea) and a chat, whether that is for residents, relatives or staff members.

I commenced my career at Red Oaks in 2015 progressing from a registered nurse to a senior nurse and now I am very proud to be assisting the senior general manager leading the team.
I am very passionate about providing outstanding care ensuring that residents and their families are receiving person-centred clinical and social care.
I am passionate, dedicated and committed to working alongside my team to make a difference every day in resident's lives.

I qualified as an RN1 and RMN in the 1980s and after a career in psychiatry, I joined the team at Red Oaks as the Care Manager. After 15 years I still love coming to work and have met and worked with many fantastic people. My role is to ensure a high quality of care for our residents. Off-duty I love travelling with my family and reading gives me great pleasure.

I have worked at Red Oaks since April 2005, initially on reception before becoming Administrator in March 2006. I gained my NVQ level 3 in Business & Administration in January 2009. I am responsible for supporting residents, relatives and staff with administration, financial and HR matters. The Admin team give a warm welcome to all our visitors and help to create the homely, family atmosphere that spreads throughout Red Oaks.

I am passionate about my role, the part is having fun and making people smile.

Clare's role as Hospitality Manager means that she is responsible for the restaurant and also for the hostess services to the Assisted Living Apartments. She maintains overall responsibility for hygiene procedures and ensures that staff follow these at all times. Clare is also responsible for the housekeeping and laundry function at the home.

I enjoy working at Red Oaks, I ensure that the home is well maintained and work with external contractors to ensure all equipment and the home itself is safe and fit for purpose. I enjoy chatting to the residents as I go around the home and it’s a lovely part of my job to build relationships not only my colleagues but with the residents in their home.

I have been working at Red Oaks for more than 9 years during which time I have worked in most departments. I get to meet with the families of potential residents who are seeking to find the right level of care for their relatives. I love showing our fantastic home to everyone who visits and I feel privileged to be able to offer help to families, in what is often, a very difficult and emotional decision.

I have worked at Red Oaks for 16 years and I consider it as my second home. I love being a Nurse. My responsibility is to ensure the high quality care of our residents, maintaining their general wellbeing and to make them happy. At Red Oaks we work as a team.

I started work at Red Oaks 30 years ago. At the time I thought that I would stay for 6 months. I have had various roles over that time all care related and I have received a lot of training. I am a Care Practitioner and Head of the Unit on the Lavender floor which is one of our dementia floors.
I have had the privilege of meeting and caring for some truly amazing people. I love my job at Red Oaks with no two days ever being the same.
In 2017 I was nominated for the Barchester Care Awards and was very surprised and humbled to win the Lifetime Achievement in care award.

Hello, my name is Ian and I am the Senior Head Chef here at Red Oaks. Having had almost two decades managing catering operations within the care home environment, I am very pleased to be included in the team here. I am hugely passionate about delivering a nutritious, well balanced and inviting meal time experience to those who are living in our care.
During my career I have had enjoyed various engaging roles including Divisional Hospitality Manager, Regional Operations Manager and Head of Hospitality. My focus is to lead my team and work closely with the wider nursing and care teams to enable a whole team approach to providing a dignified and person centred dining experience, whilst also collaborating with the activities team to create fun filled and exciting food led events.
The catering team here work tirelessly in their endeavour to drive standards and create a memorable experience for all residents, and look forward to mentoring and leading them to every success.
