Originally a country home, Pendean House has been transformed and modernised to provide care for people who require nursing and residential care. Care is also offered to those requiring Parkinson's care and palliative care. Short and long-term stays are welcome.

Pendean House is set within its own large grounds, offering tranquil landscaped gardens complete with a sensory garden and patio areas, and pathways designed for wheelchair access.

Elegant interiors feature oak panelling and decorated fireplaces in comfortable and spacious rooms, while all bedrooms come with en suite facilities and a 24-hour call system for peace of mind. A lift ensures easy access to all floors of the home. Residents have access to an onsite library, an optician, a nutritionist, reminiscence sessions and relaxation therapy.

As an enhanced service to residents, weekly GP visits are conducted at Pendean House Care Home, enabling residents to receive regular, personalised medical reviews as part of the approach to person-centred care.

Residents can enjoy fresh meals daily whilst enjoying views of the well-kept garden.

The home spends time ensuring that the calendar of events at the home is engaging and entertaining. Events such as cocktail parties, theatre trips and music shows can be enjoyed in Pendean House.

Mum wasn't at Pendean for long at all as she went there a very late stage with her terminal cancer and dementia but whilst she was there, she was welcomed and extremely well looked after.


Almost as importantly, my sister and I were also attended to very professionally by the staff. They made the

admission process as straightforward as possible, stayed late well over and above in order to resolve an issue with paperwork that was not their responsibility . They also gave us a lot of reassurance and help with our questions ofer processes. . I understand they worked very closely with wonderful nurses from a cancer charity.


Finally, the most important aspect of Pendean for me is that that they were flexible and pragmatic over accommodating my mum at short notice when we were not able to accommodate her any longer where had been originally envisaged and many other places were not able - definitely people 'you can do business with' as well as being
sensitive, patient and supportive.thank you Pendean

Struggled to find a suitable care home for my friend, who is only 60 years old, following brain tumour surgery, which left her unable to live alone in her home.
I cannot praise all the staff at Pendean enough, for their care, support and kindness, shown both to her, and to us, her friends.
The staff
are really friendly and caring.
No matter how busy they are, they always make time to welcome us & chat.
Brain injuries can cause challenging issues, but Pendean staff really do go the extra mile for their residents - to welcome them and to make them feel at 'home'. There are always lots of activities and everyone is friendly & approachable, with a 'can do attitude'.
Thank you for everything that you are doing to support my Dear friend. I appreciate each & every one of you & all your hard work. I know that my friend is receiving the best care & is in safe hands, which takes away a lot of worry & stress. Thank you all.

Our Father sadly passed away on the 5th October this year and it now seems an appropriate time to reflect now that we have laid him to rest.
We cannot state how highly we regard the excellent care that he received when he was in the home. All the staff were fantastic throughout his stay, from front
of house, nursing staff, all the care assistants, kitchen staff as well as the lovely ladies that did his washing. It would be correct to say that they all took an interest in his wellbeing, and we would when visiting, often find someone in with him having a chat.
We managed to celebrate his 94th Birthday, mums 92nd birthday and their 72nd wedding anniversary out in the lovely gardens with sandwiches and a pot of tea. That made it a special place for his last few weeks with us.
If you read this review and are thinking of placing a loved one in a home, then Pendean House is whole heartily recommended by us.

My daughter couldn't have been in a better care home. She loves all the staff who are all so good to her. Her brother passed away in there a year ago, he was a footballer who had head injuries after playing football, his and her father was a cousin of a famous footballer on TV. (He was only 65). I myself
love all the staff, they are such lovely people, it's like one big happy family. My daughter is only 65, after having chemo she had a stroke. Thank you for everything.

My aunt stayed at Pendean from 18 August - 18 September 2025 and I cannot speak highly enough of the care she received during this time. From the moment she arrived the staff showed exceptional compassion, treating her with genuine dignity, respect and kindness throughout her stay.
The level of care
was excellent. It was clear that the team were not highly professional but also so deeply caring. A special thank you to four members of staff whose warmth and attentiveness truly stood out - they made a difficult time much easier for our family and communication with us was consistently good, keeping us informed and involved. The room she stayed in was spacious, comfortable, well equipped and spotless. The overall cleanliness and standard of the facilities were of a high standard, creating a calm and reassuring environment.
Losing a loved one is never easy, but knowing she was in such capable hands gave us peace of mind. We would whole heartedly recommend Pendean House to anyone looking for compassionate and professional care for their loved ones.

I have found the last month an enjoyable one. Some exceptional staff from carers, to the receptionists, gardener, activities and chef. All of the staff have been great in helping me with what I need and helping me with my recovery too.

The staff have provided a fabulous service and showed great care and consideration in looking after my mother. We needed short-term convalescence support for her following an operation and have felt so reassured by the professionalism of the nursing staff and the ability of the team to give the appropriate
care. The manager is always on hand to answer queries and despite it being a very worrying time for us all, she has been both reassuring and helpful in the support available and left us feeling confident that my mother is most certainly in the best place and receiving the best care.

I have just spent 2 weeks enjoying respite care at Pendean after a shoulder replacement operation. I could not have felt more welcome or cared for. Many of the staff have been working there for years and I find this most re-assuring, meaning that there is a happy atmosphere among the staff and this
is transmitted to the patients. As I live very close to Midhurst it has the advantage for me of being close to friends and family, and many of them were able to visit and were also made welcome.

Everyone is amazingly nice. The bath rooms don't have enough space by the sink for women to put all their potions and hair stuff. The grub is very nice! The room is a bit cold. There is music in the dining room which is hard for deaf people. The garden is splendid for walks. Thank you all for being

Dad became a resident at Pendean upon being discharged from Hospital in October 2024.
He has a beautiful room overlooking the gardens , he is looked after well, and is still there.
The team there made us feel very welcome when we visited, and we were even able to organise a family sunday lunch together
in the dining room, when several of us came in from overseas. We are so lucky that Dad is comfortable in such a lovely place, and we know we don't have to worry about him quite so much.
Thank you to all the team, and i look forward to seeing you (and Dad) again soon.

Dad moved to Pendean in September 2024 and the team have been so welcoming and helped not just Dad settling in but the wrap around care and explanation supporting us, his family, is greatly appreciated too.
The activities provided for residents are great and varied and the recent Valentine's lunch
was a great success with Mum able to join Dad for lunch too.

For the short time he was a resident, my father received first-class care. Two particular members of staff were so helpful and kind to us with all of the staff making him feel comfortable and welcome. The family would like to thank the night nurse and carers who looked after him at the end.

Beautiful home with the most incredible staff.
My dear Mum was only at Pendean for a short time before she lost her fight.
The care, love and attention she received was outstanding.
Working in care myself, I found it hard to let her go into the hands of others, but they were all incredible.

I am the wife of an irascible, retired clergyman, whom I was afraid to leave for an operation that had become vital for me. After becoming financially secure (praise be for a charity) and having met the 'guy near the door', leaving my husband for a short while left me happy that he would be cared for
as if he were family.

From the moment I arrived at Pendean, I felt the warmth of a welcome from all the staff. That feeling continues to this day, same 40 days later.
Pendean is an amazing place. All my family and friends are so surprised at the attention they get when visiting.
It must be one of the very best care homes
in the country, and I feel privileged to be here.

I am a Senior Care Assistant at Pendean House as well as an Engagement Champion and Fire Trainer.


When my dad died from cancer his care wasn't the best. I started working with a home care agency and later came to Pendean in the hope I could make a difference in people's lives.


What I love most about working at a care home is that every day is different and I have the privilege of assisting our elderly residents in their day-to-day life at Pendean House.


Outside of work, I am mum to 5 amazing children and I am slightly animal crazy! My dream is to swim with pigs in the Bahamas!
