Cottenham Court Care Home

My father was admitted urgently and was immediately made to feel at home. The staff did all they could to befriend him and were very kind and patient. The maintenance of the home was clearly taken seriously and the home appeared in excellent, well decorated and clean condition and always smelt fine. Food was delicious and there was plenty of choice. Management kind and supportive. I was very grateful to the home.

The staff all know my name and go out of their way to do things for me. Food is very good, laundry is good, clothes are well pressed and clean. Pleasant gardens to sit in, there is a good view of the gardens from the lounge. Many activities, I enjoy them and can do them all, I especially enjoy the facilities for painting. Hairdressing and bathing/showering are very good.

I came here from hospital for 2 weeks feeling very and, weak and in some ways distressed. In the last week I have relaxed, feel calmer and rested.

Lighting in bedroom poor. A shower in ensuite would be nice and standard lighting. All staff very polite, helpful and friendly. Very good food. A larger room required for long-term residence. I appreciated the personalised meals to suit my medical requirements.

Food was plentiful and varied diet. Raspberry icecreams were most enjoyed.

From the first contact, everyone has been very welcoming and helpful from management, administration and other staff. Transfer from hospital was made easier with their friendly attention.

My father was a resident at the care home for two months receiving end of life care for terminal cancer. I cannot recommend this care home highly enough for the care and support they gave him and us. We were able to spend as much time as we wanted with him and they made sure his passing was as peaceful as it ever could be. They looked after him and made sure he was happy and comfortable. The staff at this home are amazing and I can't thank them enough for how they looked after my dad and his family.

Staff were polite, caring and willing to help with all things. The food found to be at a very high standard, food cooked on premises and anyone can order a different meal if necessary.

My father spent his last days at Cottenham Court after a long battle with illness. The staff we always warm and friendly and helped him to settle in quickly.

During a very difficult time for the family, I cannot speak highly enough of the professional, caring manner of everybody we met at the home.

He enjoyed the activities and trips that were arranged and the staff were all friendly and welcoming.

I came to convalesce after surgery on a broken hip. Very pleasant experience, facilities quite modern, staff very friendly and helpful. The food is very good, I stayed for 8days and in the circumstances, I have enjoyed my time here.

They are very responsive to residents and their families.

I came to Cottenham Court for respite care following surgery initially in 2012 and now again in 2017 following further surgery. It was fabulous seeing some of the same faces from 2012 and they remembered me. It was lovely and welcoming. A huge thank you to everyone that looked after me. It was a good rest enabling me to heal quicker and get up and about.

I cannot recommend this nursing Home enough. My mother has been bedbound for her entire stay. I know that my mother is being looked after in a safe environment. The staff are all approachable and have great patience.

My mother went into the care home from hospital with mobility problems and was naturally apprehensive as she had previously lived at home with no help. She was met with cheerful, friendly people who quickly put her at ease and understood her problems without making a big issue of it. Her room is light and airy and the staff help her to wash and dress and she has the safety of a 24hr button to call if there is a problem. Food is delicious (so she says) and a good choice. She enjoys the many activities held - art, flower arranging, quiz, chair exercises, bingo to name a few and says she doesn't have time to read her book so she seems to have plenty to occupy her which she didn't have at home. I feel happy she is being looked after in such a kind, efficient way and would recommend this care home.

A very pleasant, peaceful time convalescing after a hip operation - good attention to pills, exercise, sleeping etc to provide both activity and generally pain-free, helped by good food and delightful staff who know everybody's names and needs. The staff gave exceptional service in all departments.

All the facilities offered are of the highest standard.

This is my first experience so I can't give a comparison, only details since June this year.

Well run and efficient care home. Helpful and caring staff. Excellent meals - varied and tasty. Requests received with attention and acted upon.
