A friendly clean place in a lovely setting.
Staff are approachable if there is a problem.
Can be slow sometimes answering pull cord but I do realise they have a lot of people to attend to who need their help.

Arrived in October 2016. Very happy and I do not want to leave. My social worker says it is not the right place and to have a flat on my own. I do not want this as I consider Home Close as my home now.

My mother in law recently passed away in Home Close after 18 months as a resident. The staff treated her and the family with kindness and compassion throughout her final weeks. All were supportive and suitably offered condolences on our subsequent visits. A member of staff attended the funeral and indeed
was invited to deliver a short eulogy on my mother in laws life at Home Close.

My Mum is very content at Home Close, which is great for her and for her family and friends. The staff are helpful to her, for example when accompanying my Mum when she had to go out of the home recently for a hearing test.

Mother is well cared for, despite her dementia. The home keeps us fully informed of any problems and ensures risk assessments etc are kept up to date.


Staffing levels have improved with the current management regime, but staff turnover is of concern.

Lovely home, my grandmother is happy and settled, the staff are very friendly and eager to help with anything my grandmother wants or needs. I always feel happy visiting and whatever time of the day I arrive the staff are happy to see me and my grandmother is comfortable and contented. When she feels
poorly the staff are very attentive and let my family know exactly what they are doing regarding her health problems, Home Close is set in lovely gardens and my grandmother loves sitting out in the sun.

My mother has been a resident at Home Close for a year and a half, is happy and well looked after, loves all the activities, and has made friends. I wouldn't have believed it if someone had told me she would be happy in a care home, but she is at Home Close.

I have had experience of 3 relatives in Home Close. All were looked after in a kind and dignified way. I have been very impressed with care assistants, often young and often from other countries who have shown great compassion for the residents. I have also been impressed with the kindness of the nurses
who often go the extra mile eg taking my mother in law out for a walk when she is upset. This attitude stems from the compassion of the senior manager at the site.

Care at times seems ok at others it is lacking when the person in your care goes to hospital on out patient visits no items are taken with them. Last time my mother went, there wasn't any change of clothes no incontinence pads and as these were required on the day, we had to beg some from the hospital,
other than this all is ok. The care given in the home from the staff is good. Food and cleanliness also high.

All round i am very pleased with the care provided. There has only been one or two issues which when raised were dealt with in a quick and satisfactory manor. One thing i would like to see is one or two more things in the way of day time entertainment. Some of the activities are good but i think my
nan might need encouragement to join in. The staff are really great and my nan gets along with all of them.

My mother moved to Home Close in 2013 following an accident in her home. This resulted in her not being able to look after herself, I have nothing but praise for the way the staff at Home Close treated my mother. She was very poorly when she first moved there and through their care bounced back to her
old self. She is unable to work but was taken everywhere in her wheelchair that she wished to go. She was treated with dignity and respectful care. The only reason we have moved my mother to another home (still in the same group) is to be nearer to us in Worfold.

From our first contact with the manager, all our enquiries have been dealt with efficiently and with attention to care. The care staff are very good, our mother really responds to them well. Her memory loss makes her anxious and they do everything reduce that. I'm impressed with dignity with which the
residents are given, chosen names are used whether is it my father-laws name or Mr H. They take the time to engage and find their personal likes and dislikes and their histories.
The care home itself is clean and comfortable and I would recommend it to my friends for their parents.

My mother spent eight years at Home Close, she knew everyone's names and they all knew hers. They treated her very well. She enjoyed the varied meals, activities, outings and quiz sessions (she was their secret weapon). She loved to sit out in the garden during the good weather, they are always well
looked after and colourful. The staff always made time for a chat, before she went into Home Close she was getting quite recluse but after a few months she blossomed.
