I booked Mum into Home Close for 17 days respite so we could have a holiday. I booked an appointment to view the home and was made very welcome and shown all around and the garden. Mum was looking at the bedrooms. She liked them and said I will have this one. All arranged at that visit.

When I picked Mum up after our holiday she said that it was a good place and said she would come again and she is in October.

From day 1 to 5 years later, we couldn't have found a better place. The management and staff were always very efficient, helpful and friendly and able to deal with any needs. Good choice of food, clean. We could certainly recommend Home Close.

My Grandmother spent just over two and a half years in Home Close. Throughout her stay, I felt reassured that she was in a safe, clean and friendly environment. The staff were kind to my Gran and my family. Treating her affectionately at all times, as well as with humour and dignity. This made a tremendous impact in Gran's last years. Thank you!

I arrived at Home Close on the 24th October 2017 a few weeks after my husband died. Since then I have been treated with care and kindness. Home Close and staff live up to its name "home". The management team are extremely helpful and activities are well planned and varied. Visitors are made welcome and encouraged to bring pets and children. I would recommend Home Close to anyone.

My mother lived comfortably at Home Close for almost five and a half years, where she was very well looked after. The staff were very kind, attentive and skilled, and the management team were excellent (one could not ask for better than the manager and deputy manager). The rooms were light, comfortable, modern and well-furnished. The surroundings were restful and well-kept. Meals were high quality and the care taken to ensure residents could choose their meals and to encourage those with fading appetites, was excellent. The activities and entertainments provided for the residents were very good indeed - not all suited everyone, but there was plenty of variety. When her time came, the staff were very kind, understanding and helpful to us in making the end of life experience as good as it could be.

Unfortunately, mum's stay was very short but all the staff that we as a family came across were so incredibly kind and caring during a time that was quite distressing. Home Close has a very welcoming feel as soon as you walk through the door and I know that had mum been well enough she would have been happy there.

My mother was a resident for over 12 years. During that time the home has become a very friendly, caring place.
It has a welcoming atmosphere and the staff are friendly and compassionate.
The staff took to Mum very well. She was well looked after and we were kept informed of any health problems as soon as they appeared.
Care was taken to understand my mother's needs as dementia became a problem with her. She was treated with kindness and compassion.
They have a variety of activities and throughout the year arrange trips for the residents.

A place I would recommend to people.

Arrived in October 2016. Very happy and I do not want to leave. My social worker says it is not the right place and to have a flat on my own. I do not want this as I consider Home Close as my home now.

My mother in law recently passed away in Home Close after 18 months as a resident. The staff treated her and the family with kindness and compassion throughout her final weeks. All were supportive and suitably offered condolences on our subsequent visits. A member of staff attended the funeral and indeed was invited to deliver a short eulogy on my mother in laws life at Home Close.

My Mum is very content at Home Close, which is great for her and for her family and friends. The staff are helpful to her, for example when accompanying my Mum when she had to go out of the home recently for a hearing test.

Mother is well cared for, despite her dementia. The home keeps us fully informed of any problems and ensures risk assessments etc are kept up to date.

Staffing levels have improved with the current management regime, but staff turnover is of concern.

Lovely home, my grandmother is happy and settled, the staff are very friendly and eager to help with anything my grandmother wants or needs. I always feel happy visiting and whatever time of the day I arrive the staff are happy to see me and my grandmother is comfortable and contented. When she feels poorly the staff are very attentive and let my family know exactly what they are doing regarding her health problems, Home Close is set in lovely gardens and my grandmother loves sitting out in the sun.

My mother has been a resident at Home Close for a year and a half, is happy and well looked after, loves all the activities, and has made friends. I wouldn't have believed it if someone had told me she would be happy in a care home, but she is at Home Close.

I have had experience of 3 relatives in Home Close. All were looked after in a kind and dignified way. I have been very impressed with care assistants, often young and often from other countries who have shown great compassion for the residents. I have also been impressed with the kindness of the nurses who often go the extra mile eg taking my mother in law out for a walk when she is upset. This attitude stems from the compassion of the senior manager at the site.

I enjoy working alongside such wonderful colleagues and being part of the warm, welcoming atmosphere within the home. I enrich residents’ lives by recognising each person as an individual, understanding their background, and supporting their wishes and goals for the future. I am a registered nurse with qualifications in management, leadership, and teacher training, alongside many years of experience managing care homes within the elderly care sector.

With over 30 years’ experience as a nurse, I’m passionate about delivering high-quality care and making sure our residents feel happy, safe and well looked after. I take great pride in supporting a team that truly puts residents at the heart of everything we do.

I really enjoy the variety of roles I take on in the home – whether it’s cooking, painting, or simply lending a hand where it’s needed. I’m always around to help, no matter how big or small the task, and I love making the residents smile and laugh. I’ve completed my Food Hygiene Level 2 and minibus training, which helps me support the team and residents in lots of different ways.

What I enjoy most is the homely feel here – it really does feel like one big family. We have such a laugh with the residents, and those fun moments mean a lot. I’m always around if anyone needs anything, whether it’s answering a quick question or calling a family member to sort something out. I’ve got A Levels in Business Studies and Media, which have definitely helped with staying organised and keeping things running smoothly.
