At the time of entry, my father had suffered a number of long-term hospital stays which had caused a general decline in his muscle strength and possibly caused an element of depression due to his declined state. The massive improvement in his short stay before his sudden death is solely due to the provision
and staff involvement in Swan House. To die "with his boots on" in his hometown was an appropriate end to a long life.

We fell that the overall standard of care received by our father is good. The home are excellent at keeping us informed of his health and medical needs, which we are very grateful for. Staff are always friendly and helpful and our father is happy with it as his new home.

My father has been in Swan House since January 2018. His care needs have been met and at all times carers have been polite and friendly. Whenever I have had any queries, the admin staff/manager are always happy to assist and solve any issues. The activities lady and her volunteer are excellent and a
real asset to Swan House. Without them, it wouldn't be the same there. They really care for the residents and should be backed up all the way.

My father-in-law has been in Swan House since January 2018. I always feel welcome at Swan House. All staff from the manager down to the cleaning staff treat you politely and are always very friendly. I am always amazed by the activities lady and her volunteer, who arrange so much for the residents so
they are not stuck in their rooms all day. And the way they treat the residents is lovely; with dignity and care, they love them all - WELL DONE!!

The staff are very caring and friendly at Swan House Care Home, my stepmother needs help with eating and they are excellent. She is clean, dressed and her room is light and clean during our last visit in 40 minutes a nurse came to see her and care were in her room as we arrived and was talking to her
and a younger person brought her food in and stayed to help her eat it.

The care home is clean and the staff are very friendly.


During our initial 40 mins visit, 3 visits were made to my grandmother's room, for cleaning, a health check and lunch. Staff were welcoming and accommodating.


My grandmother was clean and well cared for. Staff were very patient with her,

cutting up and feeding her food when she was unable and assisting her with personal care.

Pleasant common areas and garden. The room is small but adequate. Well maintained, clean and tidy. Staff are welcoming and appear friendly and caring. Nurse spent time talking to us as did other staff. The manager was very helpful and gave willingly of her time to talk to us.

Swan House has a friendly environment. Staff are very caring and do their best for the residents. Activities and entertainment are laid on for their enjoyment which they look forward to. My husband has been in the home for over two years and I have peace of mind knowing that he is well cared for.

My friend and neighbour had reached the stage where she was failing to look after herself properly at home and, as a result of not eating and drinking properly, became confused and had a number of falls and hospital admissions. Reluctantly she admitted she should go into a care home and selected Swan
House on recommendations.


So far it has been the making of her and best still, she has become involved with activities giving her new interests and contact with others she had previously avoided.
The care staff have done a wonderful job of bringing her out of herself - they are brilliant.

From the first day, staff have been welcoming, caring and always anxious to help and answer queries and to set your mind at rest.

Every time I walk into Swan House, I have a laugh and joke with the first member of staff I meet and am offered coffee etc. I know from what my mum tells me that she gets the same treatment all day every day. Whenever the staff walk into her room, her spirits lift quickly. Thanks to them all.

My friend had lived alone for the past 9 years since her husband died. She was becoming more and more isolated and didn't want to leave the house. Since being at Swan House (only 2 weeks) she has started to join in with activities, is more chatty and more like her old self. This is all due to the wonderful,
caring staff. They are so friendly and can't do enough to help.

I am so pleased that my mother is fortunate enough to be a resident at Swan House. The home is clean with a warm, friendly environment. The staff are excellent, many of whom are long serving at this home.
My mother's needs are met fully. Activities and events keep her occupied. She is encouraged as
an individual to pursue her own interests. Facilities are excellent. I have peace of mind knowing she is in a very safe, trustworthy environment. It is very much home from home for her.
