The home has improved - after a meeting about the food served it has improved. It still needs some staff, not all to improve, but overall very good. Nice nursing/care home.

My Aunt has only recently been a resident at Swan House, I was so impressed, I have never seen a care homes as clean and friendly before. (My dad was in a care home for several years and we looked at several). The first thing I noticed was no smell, wonderful. The staff are so friendly and caring they
call out or some in whenever passing her door. The facilities are great, craft room and hairdressers. I love the file on the wall where you can read about her activities and also write notes ourselves. Rooms with en-suite and TV lovely. Really marvellous and she loves it.

I am very impressed with Swan House. The care they give my dad, who has complex needs, is excellent. They treat him with dignity and respect at all times and involve him in his care giving, even though he cannot always communicate effectively. There is documented evidence that staff from activities
and from the care team spend time with him outside of care giving, chatting to him about the family and TV programmes he enjoys, and even helping him to play dominoes.
When we visit, he is always smart and well presented, something that is important to him. During visits, the staff are always very welcoming and find time to talk with us, especially when we have the cat with us, and he is always made very welcome. As someone who works in a care home, I am very happy with the standards and care at Swan House.

On the occasions I have visited my friend, the staff have always been very friendly. Her room is always clean, and, although she had difficulty adjusting to her environment, she is now realising how fortunate she is to be so well cared for.

My husband's illness is rare and his needs are complex. His mobility is very poor and he needs turning frequently, also his speech is compromised. The staff are diligent in giving his high level of routine care. They are all extremely kind and do their utmost to make and keep him comfortable. The staff
are very well trained and obviously take pride in carrying out their duties to the best of their ability. The overall atmosphere at Swan House is one of positive concern for residents and visitors and it's a happy place.
