Claremont House provides specialist nursing and elderly care for the local residents of Caister-on-sea, Norfolk. Run by a warm, welcoming and enthusiastic team, Claremont House offers high quality care that maintains an excellent reputation within the local community.

In addition, it incorporates a welcoming reception area, dining room, two lounges, one of which has an early 1950s feel, a themed hairdressing salon and an attractive sensory garden, on the patio, all of which residents and their guests can enjoy. Although rooms are fully furnished, they encourage residents to bring with them items of furniture and personal effects to complement those already provided so that their room can become an individual retreat.

Claremont Lodge, like Claremont House, is situated on the High Street of Caister-on-Sea conveniently near to a range of shops and amenities. To ensure, where possible, that residents have an active social life, regular trips takes are organised to the local shops, theatre, etc., allowing everyone to benefit from the fresh sea air of the nearby coastline. If you simply wish for peace and tranquillity, well maintained gardens and courtyards surround the home, allowing you to enjoy a haven from the bustle of the town.

I come to the dementia café and I'm always made welcome by all staff and management. I have also been invited to party days which are always made fun by the activities team.

My parent has been a resident at Claremont House for 9 months, she has Alzheimer's Disease. Mum initially took several weeks to settle in but is more comfortable now. She has a nice size room with her own toilet and sink. We have supplied a TV and a virtual music device for her enjoyment. Staff are
friendly and welcoming. Regular musicians are invited to the home to entertain the residents and the hairdresser visits weekly.

My wife was admitted to the Claremont Nursing Home as a patient needing palliative care, she was suffering with a deep pressure sore, bedridden, unable to converse due to dementia and doubly incontinent. Needing pureed food, fitted with a catheter and turning every two hours. Due to the care she has
received from friendly, caring staff, her overall condition has improved. Eating and drinking well, she is comfortable and secure in a caring atmosphere.

My husband has been a resident since January 2019. Whilst here, he has settled in well. This would not have been so if it wasn't for the care and devotion of all the staff. Their first concern is towards the resident. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They talk and take time to listen to all the
residents and their friends and family. I am always being reassured that he is content and happy which myself and my family have witnessed.

My husband and I visited Claremont House on many occasions and at different times of the day. We were always welcomed by cheerful friendly staff who would always offer us a cup of tea. Our friend went into the home after the death of his wife and it took a little while for him to settle but was won
over by the girls' cheery spirit and willingness to help him. He never complained about the meals and loved the social life he could join in with, especially the music afternoons in the lounge and in the village hall where he could show off his dancing skills. When neither of these activities was happening we would often find him playing cards and dominoes.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the manager and all her staff for their great care of our friend.

My mother-in-law was diagnosed with vascular dementia in April 2017 and through Social Services she was found a room in Claremont Lodge.


We were very apprehensive to start with not experiencing anything like this before within either of our families. However, the management and staff went out of

their way to ensure us that everything would be fine and that she would be well cared for, which is the case. They are kind, compassionate, caring and professional. Nothing is too much trouble, and they are always happy and welcoming, whatever time of day we visit.


The care, the management and staff gives is second to none and I would have no hesitation in recommending Claremont Nursing Home to other families in a similar situation.

My mum was well looked after at the Claremont. Staff are lovely, very friendly and very helpful. My Mum was respected and treated with dignity at all times. The home is very nice and well presented. The staff are more than excellent and very helpful. The position of the site is all so excellent, being on the high street, perfect for taking out and having a snack. Not to say that there is anything wrong with the food at Claremont.

When I arrive I'm greeted to go to the lounge and then given a cup of tea and biscuits. I am given a choice of food for lunch.
Activities are great fun, bingo, singing, play cards and the general conversation with other people.
The staff are excellent. Anything you want they'll provide nothing is
too much bother. They keep a watchful eye on you.
I started going to Claremont in December 2017 and as part of my two days, I enjoy a bath which has made me feel great. I am shaved, hair washed and body washed and made to feel really clean.
Claremont is brilliant.

A caring and compassionate team who have made a significant difference to my Dad's ability to function and feel like a person again. You are a person and made to feel really welcome. The warmth they show to new 'guests' makes a difference when you are not familiar with the surroundings and new people.
As a day visitor, the facilities are great with lots of activities, conversation and new people to get to know, especially when you live on your own. Living some distance from the Claremont, but with the responsibility of my dad, the team do an excellent job in keeping an eye on dad and letting me know when he has appeared with bumps and bruises. One to consider if you have ageing parents who need support.

All the reservations and fears that I had with regards to admitting my husband to a nursing home, were completely unfounded. This was due to the excellent and personal care levels, the friendly and welcoming atmosphere, the responsive and true listening skills of all the staff. I felt truly treated
as a human being with emotions and practical issues which were sincerely addressed and recognised. Besides the care of my sick husband, I felt truly cared for!

Dear Manager and all staff members.


I would like to thank you all for the expert and professional care you have shown my father over the last two years, the dedication from all the staff has been exceptional.
As you are aware my father was a little confused of his surrounding on arrival and took

a couple of weeks to settle, he was made comfortable and treated as a member of a large family. He soon took to the warmth of the staff and settled in nicely, they were on hand night and day to ensure his safety and care was attended too.


He soon started to refer to the staff as his friends and soon enjoyed long conversations and the daily banter with them all. Most importantly he was kept busy with many activities.


Finally, when the inevitable happened and he was taken from us, the dedication of the staff was again clearly visible as seven members of the staff took their own time out to attend his funeral, a dedication second to none.


Thank you, The Claremont, you did him proud.

My dad took up residence at the Claremont Nursing Home in April 2015 as he was suffering from vascular dementia and through his steady decline, he was taken care of with dignity and affection even as dementia took hold and Dad's moods changed he was treated the same. I was very touched with how the

First impressions were very favourable; they proved to be correct. Friendly, helpful staff, kind and attentive to residents. Detailed attention to any nursing requirements. Visitors encouraged to make themselves at home. Relatives are encouraged to air their views and to draw attention to anything
which they are not entirely satisfied with. Anything I have spoken about has been promptly acted upon. On the downside, there is a certain "shabbiness" in certain areas, mostly towels and bedside tables. The gardens and grounds are nice but uninspiring! The layout of the building is good. Teatime menu very limited.

Our mum spent the last couple of weeks of her life at Claremont House and the care and attention she received could have not been better.
The compassion and care show by all the staff to both my mother, my brother and myself far exceeded our hopes.
We would have loved to have kept mum in her home
until the end, but the time came when we were not able to provide the care she needed. Claremont did that beautifully and in doing so, they not only made mum as comfortable as she could be, but provided us with much needed peace of mind. They look after not just the resident, but the whole family and we cannot recommend them highly enough.

I enjoy being part of the team at Claremont House & Lodge, where both communities work so well together and the home truly feels like a home from home. The most important part of my day is working with residents, providing a high standard of service that respects their individuality and honours their likes and dislikes. I’m currently working towards my Level 3 in Hospitality and Housekeeping, and bring experience from large organisations such as the NHS and private homes. Having worked here for nearly three years, including time in the kitchen department where I progressed to second chef, I’ve gained a strong base of experience to grow within the Housekeeping Team.

From the moment you walk through the door, Claremont has a warm, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere, and there’s never a dull day. I enjoy seeing and interacting with residents every day, creating appetising and nutritious meals that give plenty of choice and the comfort of home-cooked dishes. With over 15 years of experience as a palliative care chef in both hospices and care homes, I bring passion and dedication to every meal I prepare.
