The care, the management and staff gives is second to none and I would have no hesitation in recommending Claremont Nursing Home to other families in a similar situation.
I would like to thank you all for the expert and professional care you have shown my father over the last two years, the dedication from all the staff has been exceptional.
As you are aware my father was a little confused of his surrounding on arrival and took
He soon started to refer to the staff as his friends and soon enjoyed long conversations and the daily banter with them all. Most importantly he was kept busy with many activities.
Finally, when the inevitable happened and he was taken from us, the dedication of the staff was again clearly visible as seven members of the staff took their own time out to attend his funeral, a dedication second to none.
Thank you, The Claremont, you did him proud.

"At Claremont House and Lodge, we focus on person-centred care that supports residents to live as independently as possible in a fun, active environment. With plenty of activities, a real family feel, and our lovely seaside location, it’s a great place to call home."
I bring a friendly, welcoming approach each day while providing an efficient and reliable admin service for residents, staff, and families. With an NVQ Level 4 in Management and training in business operations and customer care, I ensure everything runs smoothly.
I previously worked as a housekeeper before Claremont House, but I missed the care sector and the people. The biggest professional challenge I've faced in my career to date has been being able to deal with challenging situations and ensuring I always keep a calm manner. My favourite part of my day is walking through the door, I am greeted by residents who are happy to see me.
I enjoy working with a great team and lovely residents who feel like one big family. I have strong relationships with residents and their families, offering daily support and empathy. I’ve completed my nursing degree and am always eager to develop my skills further.
I enjoy working with a supportive team and seeing the residents happy. Meeting all residents’ care needs and helping them stay healthy is my priority. I hold a 3-year Nursing Diploma and completed a 1-year internship, plus 2 years of hospital experience in Ghana.
I appreciate the supportive management and my Clinical Lead, who is always there to teach me new things. I do my best each day to keep residents safe and support their quality of life. I have passed my OSCE exams and completed Healthcare Homes induction training.
What I enjoy most about working at Claremont is building meaningful connections with residents, their families, and the wider team. No two days are the same, and I thrive on the variety and the challenges, especially when it comes to problem-solving. I help make the admissions process as smooth and supportive as possible, understanding that it can be an emotional time for families. I’m also someone who genuinely enjoys paperwork and ensuring everything is in place. With a background running my own PA business and working across education, children and adult services, and local government, I bring a wealth of experience in regulated environments and a confident, people-focused approach to my role.
I’m a qualified joiner with my NVQ Level 3 and experience in construction, property maintenance, and the care industry. For the past seven years, I’ve worked in care, supporting residents with everyday tasks and helping them feel safe and at home. I enjoy varied work and always aim to be a friendly, helpful presence for both residents and their families.
I enjoy being part of the team at Claremont House & Lodge, where both communities work so well together and the home truly feels like a home from home. The most important part of my day is working with residents, providing a high standard of service that respects their individuality and honours their likes and dislikes. I’m currently working towards my Level 3 in Hospitality and Housekeeping, and bring experience from large organisations such as the NHS and private homes. Having worked here for nearly three years, including time in the kitchen department where I progressed to second chef, I’ve gained a strong base of experience to grow within the Housekeeping Team.
From the moment you walk through the door, Claremont has a warm, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere, and there’s never a dull day. I enjoy seeing and interacting with residents every day, creating appetising and nutritious meals that give plenty of choice and the comfort of home-cooked dishes. With over 15 years of experience as a palliative care chef in both hospices and care homes, I bring passion and dedication to every meal I prepare.
