For care and recuperation following operation. Total care with nursing as necessary experienced. Attention and support brilliant. Food and drink wonderful, just let down by a few disappointing meals. Otherwise a big thank you.
I will discuss this with the head chef to ensure your concerns are addressed.
When shown around I knew Oakwood House would be perfect for Dad. All the staff smiled and said hello. The bedroom appeared fresh, clean and suitably furnished and there was a mix of communal areas and gardens. I was very impressed with the speed with which Dad could be accommodated and the efficiency of the administration. Dad received a warm welcome and once settled it was clear that the staff are brilliant. There is always someone on hand to help residents and visitors. Communication with all areas is friendly and efficient. Residents and family's individual needs are noted and well attended to. I would definitely recommend.
Its a joy to have your dad in the home
My mother spent her last 20 months at Oakwood House following an earlier brief respite stay. The home has a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere, in a calm leafy setting. It is well managed and issues are dealt with promptly. Although my mother was in her late 90s and frail, I appreciated how staff always respected her individuality and particularly her desire to keep a little independence through walking short distances for as long as possible. Her care was adjusted sensitively as her needs changed.
She was always treated with kindness and good humour, not just by the highly efficient nursing and care staff but by all the people who combine to make Oakwood a comfortable home, including the housekeeping, activity, maintenance and catering teams. The reception staff were also infallibly welcoming and helpful. Many staff members felt like friends and I am very grateful for the warm welcome I always received and the incredible kindness shown to my family at the end.
It was an absolute pleasure to have been able to support your mum and to get to know you.
She is greatly missed not just by the team but also the wildlife who were regular visitors to her window
Our mother was moved to Oakwood House for end of life care. After spending many weeks there it felt like home from home.Words cannot express the exceptional care and compassion our mother as well as we received.Every single person and professional at Oakwood are truly remarkable people. The housekeepers, maintenance, reception staff, the nursing staff and management all gave our mother and our family a sense of real understanding and warmth.Everyone was really personable and couldn't do enough to support her, doing the finer details like adding a bird feeder outside her window and continuing to involve her in activities in her room.As well as the kindness that was shown, the team was also incredibly professional and were able to explain stages in our mother's deteriation clearly. This enabled us as a family to prepare ourselves for the inevitable. When our mother passed, amongst our grief, everyone remained steadfast in the consoling and grief process, for this we will be eternally grateful.
Its really nice to know that the whole team approach that we adapt within the home has been of support to you all.
It was our absolute pleasure to be able to support your mum.
We have been into many different homes and without fail, Oakwood is far best the one for everything residents of any age would require. The cleanest, well run with first class people looking after residents 24/7. We would recommend anyone to its place. Well done. It does not smell like most homes.
Many thanks for your review - its is very much appreciated and indicative of all the hard work that the team put in.
Mum has had a stroke and since going to the home, we always get a friendly welcome from reception or front house. When we ask staff for anything it's done straight away, nothing is to much trouble. Our visits are so much nicer as we know mum is being really cared for. Everything is catered for.
Thank you for your feedback - I will share this with the teamIt's our absolute pleasure to be able to support your mum
After my mum had a very long stay in hospital which was not the best experience we were offered a place for mum at Oakwood House. So far we have been very impressed with the care mum is receiving, all the staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. We are frequent visitors, so much that the reception/front of house staff know us by name and are always happy to help. Oakwood house has taken the stress out of the relentless hospital visits where visiting is a lot more relaxed and comfortable. Although mums not able to participate in activities they have daily activities to keep the residents entertained and the staff try and encourage everyone to join in. Overall we are finding Oakwood to be the best place for my mum and are very happy.
It is our pleasure to be able to support your mum.Thank you for your lovely feedback, I will share this with the team

This was my first experience of staying in a care home. The service was good and I have never met so many caring helpers before. I would be comfortable staying in Oakwood House again.
Thank you for your lovely review and it was our absolute pleasure to support you.Hope that you are keeping well and we would welcome you back anytime.
The staff could not have been more caring and empathetic towards her, without exception, regardless of the team member. There must be a very good manager at this home.

Well done Oakwood House keep up the great work.
Many thanks for the lovely feedback and so glad you enjoyed the open day.
From the day my partner moved to Oakwood House from the hospital. He improved so well in a matter of weeks. I found all the staff to be pleasant, and helpful regardless of their role within the home and interacted with my partner on a daily basis. In my opinion, they went over and above. I cannot fault them. The activities, the food, the care and how they made you feel important and part of the family.
Many thanks for your review and feedback. It was a pleasure to be able to support and care for your loved one.
I'm very happy and content living here with everything and everybody. The food is excellent and the staff are superb.
What a great review - many thanks for taking the time to complete this. It's an absolute pleasure to support and look after you.
Overall pleased with care and support my grandad has received since being with Oakwood. Incredibly polite and friendly staff (specific mention to the young receptionist - always smiling). Nothing appears too much trouble for staff, demonstrating an excellent approach to their care. Great selection of activities on a weekly basis which keeps him smiling too!
Many thanks for your review and feedback, it's very much appreciated and we are pleased to be supporting your grandad.
My aunt eats very little and I do wonder if her diet could be more varied if more thought were given. I know she refuses most food other than yoghurt. It would have been good to meet the manager/deputy manager when my aunt was admitted, although the receptionist is excellent and other staff members are very good. Many thanks.
Many thanks for your review - it is very much appreciated. Please rest assured that myself and the deputy manager do our utmost to ensure that we introduce ourselves to residents and families upon admission but sometimes due to other things happening in the home it's not always possible. Our office...
I recommend this care home, it's the next best thing to being at home. Nice atmosphere, very kind staff, very clean, well maintained, very modern, high-quality establishment in a really nice setting - beautiful!
Thank you for your great feedback. Really pleased that you enjoy living at Oakwood House.
