The admin assistant always offers a warm welcome with a big smile. She is the first port of call as you arrive. She is always there for us and at times I need a big hug. In fact, all of the staff are exceptional, all mixing different roles so that they can cover each other. Always with a 'hello' when I see them. Unfortunately, my Dad is bedridden and he cannot join in on any activities, due to lack of mobility and Alzheimer's. We visit him every day, just so we're around him and when I know I can't be there, I know he is well looked after. My Mum also had a stay following a half knee op and the staff were exceptional during this time too.

Thank you for such a lovely review, the staff work very hard together as a team so feedback like this is great for them to see. We love caring for Dad, and it was a joy to have Mum here for a short time as well.

Me and my brother needed to find a care home for our pops. With hearing so many negative comments, this was a concern. However, as soon as we walked into Woodside, it felt the right place, warm and friendly. Our pops soon arrived, and he soon settled in and received the best care we could have imagined. The staff from housekeeping to management were amazing. We had full support from staff, who couldn't do enough for us. Pops was happy at Woodside, and it was home-from-home for us too. Coming into friendly faces at difficult times really helped us as a family. Unfortunately, Pops passed, and again, the staff went above and beyond with their support. I cannot recommend Woodside enough. Thank you, Woodside, our forever family.

My wish was to have a lovely afternoon tea. Barchester Woodside House Care Home arranged for us to go to a hotel. I invited four other residents and we have had such a lovely time. Staff came and drove us round to also see the city, it was lovely.

I want to thank Woodside for giving us such lovely treats and outings, it really keeps us young and helps keep our brains active.

Pleased with the overall care of my aunt. She is well-fed and clean and seems happy. The home itself is clean and the staff are friendly and have answered our questions efficiently.

She needs more mobilisation and I have discussed this with staff.

All staff are very kind, helpful, caring and do their very best to make life as enjoyable as possible. Get a warm welcome when you go in. They have a lovely garden to sit in and patio area. Do lovely activities for residents and are encouraged to join in. It is lovely that they bring animals in so residents can pet and hold. They do nice trips out for the residents and have entertainment put on. They have a room where they can have their hair done, also have a chiropodist that comes in. They do morning coffee and afternoon tea with biscuits and cakes. Communal rooms, such as the dining room and lounges, are very pleasant and very clean throughout the home.

Barchester Woodside House Care Home is amazing, everything I hoped elderly care could be. Mum has been here three years and the care has been amazing. The staff are super and turnover of staff is very low. Activity staff offer a variety of activities and are a lot of fun.
The manager is responsive and caring and my mum visits her room often.

Only thing Mum doesn't like is the food.

I took a friend to see Mum recently (the friend has a father at a care home in Dorset) and she said what a lovely atmosphere Barchester Woodside House Care Home has. I put this down to the fact everyone is so friendly, from kitchen staff, laundry ladies, office staff, manager and most importantly, carers and trained staff.

Well done Woodside.

I came here for six days respite after an operation. My husband has Alzheimer’s and dementia so he is in another home for two weeks. I go home today.
I have been into lots of care homes in past years as part of my work, and my husband going in while I get some respite.
This care home has opened my eyes to how good a place can be as the staff, care, feeling of happiness spread around. Activities, food are all absolutely the best.
I am 77 years old and still very active and mobile and hope to be for years yet. Definitely happy to know a place so good as Woodside House is available to people who when older need care.
I have found the residents here have a good life and look after the more vulnerable because they themselves feel secure.
Such a lovely experience to have spent this time here and know all the horror stories you hear about care homes certainly is not true of this place.

I can honestly say the care staff in every role I have had dealings with here have been the best.

Before coming to Barchester Woodside House Care Home, I always thought care homes were not a nice place to be however I couldn't have been more wrong. The care provided to my gran was more than I could have ever hoped for. The entire staff were warm and professional from the first viewing until the end. The home was always clean and organised.

My mother suffered a stroke back in May 2023 and while in hospital was diagnosed with advanced dementia.
Since my mother was transferred to Woodside my family and I would say that my mother’s quality of life has shown improvement.
When I visit I am able to see my mother’s charts and from these, I can witness firsthand the increase in my mother’s food and fluid intake. This is because shortly after being transferred, Woodside identified and agreed with a local service a need to purée my mother's food and to add thickener to her fluids to allow for this.
I am also impressed with the professionalism of ALL of the staff. All of the main nurses know my wife and I by name and if they need to make us aware of anything will actively seek us out while we are visiting.

I cannot recommend Woodside any higher in all aspects of my mother's care and to go further I would thank Woodside for giving my family and me a little longer with my mother due to the improvement we have seen in the quality of her life.

My sister was sent from hospital to Woodside House Care Home and I was very impressed with this care home. The staff are very good with the residents and, as far as I can see, make them feel at home and comfortable. I've seen a few care homes in Leicester and Market Harborough, but not a patch on this one.

I love working for Barchester and leading the team at Woodside House in the care and support of residents to provide first-class service that meets their individual needs. We have a truly lovely home and a fantastic team.

In 2018, I moved to the NHS, where I spent eight years working on Dementia Assessment wards. Recently, I felt it was time to return to where my heart has always been—back to Woodside House.

I hope to bring my skills, knowledge, and experience to support the team, especially newer staff, and to continue providing dedicated, compassionate care to our residents. I aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who call Woodside House their home.
