Over all time Cornwallis Court has 62 reviews.
My mum recently passed away I spent most of her last week with her and the staff not only looked after mum they looked after me with lots of tea.
The respect that was given to my mum as she left Cornwallis will always stay in my heart forever. The staff that were here for me and my family you know who you are and I can't thank them enough.
I came here 17 months ago to find a place in which to recover from a bad fall and two broken legs. I lived in Nottinghamshire but my daughter and the family live near here. My daughter helped me settle in with the lovely staff. I have been seen by doctors when necessary and the kindly staff have been wonderful and have helped me settle in and I have made good friendships and everybody is friendly.
My mother has been a resident at Cornwallis Court for the past year. She is so happy there that I have rated excellent for everything. Cornwallis Court is an old building but has wide corridors and high ceilings, making it light and airy. Building has commenced to provide a new home. It is such a relief to know that mum is safe and happy.
Thank you for your lovely review, we are so pleased that mum is happy and settled, mum is such a lovely lady and it was so lovely to see her celebrating her recent milestone and having such a lovely day with her loved ones, I will ensure that these kind words are communicated to the team.Kind Regards
Management, reception staff through to the carers and nursing staff, everyone was friendly but efficient.
My wife's stay here was unfortunately too short, but we are confident that her final days were as comfortable as they could be. For this, I will be indebted to the incredible staff who cared for her. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it was truly our privilege to be able to care for your wife and an honour to have been part of her journey, knowing that our care brought comfort to her and and reassurance to you means the world to us, our thoughts are with you and your family.
I came for recuperation following a hip replacement following a fall and stayed 9 days. I arrived 5 days post op and was treated with nothing but respect, care and kindness by the staff. I was supported in my remobilisation and improvement at my own pace. The activities staff included me in the social aspect which I much enjoyed and I made conversation with a number of other residents. My room was comfortable, the dining staff friendly and food good.
I have nothing bad to say about any of it. I enjoyed the whole experience and the food was excellent.
Thank you for your review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us, staff endeavour to provide a good and friendly service.
My father moved to Cornwallis Court when his previous home was closed by its owners. This was a worrying time for him and our family. The staff at Cornwallis Court were exemplary in their welcome and effort to making my father feel included, safe, and at home. This care is normal practice for the wonderful staff there and has continued since moving there in November 2023. The relationship my Father and our family have with them is a credit to the R.M.B.I. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, I will share your feedback with the team who I know will appreciate it.
Nothing is too much trouble for them, we are both happy here.
The food is wonderful and the menu is varied, optional, alternatives are offered if the main is not suitable.
We are so pleased that you found us welcoming and friendly. Thank you for taking the time to review us, it is so important to recognise the staff and they truly appreciate it.
The care provided is exceptional, the consideration given to the individual needs of the resident is just perfect. I cannot praise all concerned any higher. I know that my father is so well looked after, his needs are more than met. He is clean, well fed and medicated on time all essential and appreciated. The activities are great. He joins in with most which keeps him active as his dementia progresses. He is meeting new people and really thriving since being there. I know that he will live longer now he is in good care as he needs 24-hour care.
I feel that the staff go the extra to ensure residents are happy and truly care.
Thank you for your kind review. I will pass on your comments to the staff who sometimes do not get the acknowledgement they deserve. They will be delighted.
My Mum has been at Cornwallis Court for just over two years and not a day goes by where we are not grateful for her being in good care. She is always treated with compassion, respect and dignity and looked after as well as she can be. She is always content, good spirited when we visit, she loves being among people at the various activities even though she is no longer able to take an active part in them. Your kindness to her is appreciated more than we can say. Thank you all.
Thank you for your kind words and lovely comments, it is really appreciated.
Since being at Cornwallis Court we have been made to feel very welcome and supported. We feel lucky to know our mum is well looked after and kept safe.
The staff take pride in their work and really appreciate the feedback, but most of all they love Mum's smiles.
I would just like to say thank goodness for Cornwallis Court and its staff! After having nine months of hospital stays and unacceptable care facilities, our family can not be more grateful that Dad is now settled here. Since the day he arrived, the staff have been nothing but amazing, kind, knowledgable and welcoming. Thank you so very much.
Thank you for trusting us with Dad, it's a pleasure to support him.
Thank you. As we all know there are angels among us.
Thank you for taking the time to review the care your sister receives and for your kind words. I will ensure this is passed on to the staff who really appreciate positive feedback.
Overall quite good but the food is awful and it takes a long time to respond to the buzzer.
Thank you for taking the time to review our service. We are sorry that you feel we do not meet some of your expectations. We appreciate the opportunity to openly discuss any concerns regarding areas for improvement.
My father has been cared for in Cornwallis Court for nearly 2 years. He is cared for with compassion and dignity. He is safe and well fed and his medical needs are reviewed and altered as required. All of the staff at Cornwallis Court are kind and caring and nothing seems too much trouble. They are kind and friendly to me when I visit my father and keep me updated on his well-being.
Thank you for your review. The staff at Cornwallis take pride in caring for our residents and making it a friendly and welcoming home.
Mum was very happy during her time at Cornwallis Court. The staff were helpful and caring. The food was of a good standard and the activities were enjoyable. She stayed and if needed, would happily return.
Thank you for your review, staff loved having Mum stay here albeit for a short period.
The home is really good with good attentive staff. Lots of activities are laid on for residents and there is a good amount of staff. My mother is receiving excellent care. She says the food is nice and it's a lovely place. The home also has a fully staffed nursing wing.
Thank you for your review, it is always appreciated when we receive positive feedback. I will share your response with the staff team.
My mum was transferred to Cornwallis Court Care Home from the hospital due to Covid. Ever since April 2020 she has been looked after very well, her health is always foremost and all her needs are met. The staff and carers are friendly and happy.
Thank you for your positive feedback, the staff team enjoy working with your mum and the other residents and will be pleased to hear that they are appreciated.
My mum in nursing has deteriorated and is now being allowed into the home, my experience with the staff has been so positive. I am always welcomed with a cheerful greeting. My mum can have a very difficult side to her since her stroke, all the staff have great patience and care for her. Everyone is so cheerful with her and tries to make her happy. Covid has been very difficult for the home, but I feel that they have coped very well.
It is so important to be able to support residents with changing needs in a familiar environment. Thank you for your kind words regarding the staff team, this means a lot to them.
My Auntie is a resident at Cornwallis Court and always has the best care. All the carers are lovely, kind and patient and nothing is too much trouble. She has as many cups of tea as she wants, which makes her happy.
Tea and cake always brings on a smile - thank you for your kind feedback.

Meet the Team (1)

I have over 30 years of experience working in social care, and I have worked for Cornwallis Court since 2024.
I am passionate about creating a home where residents feel truly valued, respected, and cared for as individuals. For me, it is about building a culture of warmth and dignity - where residents' lives are enriched every day and staff feel empowered to deliver exceptional care with compassion.
My greatest achievement since working at the Home is building a strong, motivated team that shares a genuine passion for care. By investing in training, open communication and positive leadership, we've created a culture where staff feel supported, turnover is lo,w and residents benefit from continuity and kindness in their care. We were also recently inspected by Suffolk County Council and awarded an excellent rating.
