Grove Court has been the residence of our mother for almost two years now. The team were excellent in helping my mother during the transition from a spell in hospital to becoming a resident of the home and we have not looked back since. The care team are sensitive to people's needs and provides a tailored
level of care as required on a daily basis. They are always upbeat and encouraging and also embrace the families of residents and their needs too.
The home itself is always welcoming upon arrival and has a nice, safe feel as soon as you enter reception where fresh, colourful flowers are often on display. The large grounds around the home provide some lovely outdoor space for residents and families to enjoy, including a summer house which is well-equipped.
The management team are always very welcoming, and understanding and often engages with residents and families which is great as we are made to feel part of the bigger family of Grove Court.
Overall, would highly recommend.

I cannot recommend The Grove enough for my mother who was deteriorating at home for reasons that are still not clear. She came into The Grove weighing about six stone and was extremely weak, sleeping the entire time and hardly talking. She was unable to eat and I thought she would never get better.
She
left 5 weeks later at least a stone heavier, more engaged more lively and her whole body that was failing at home was much improved by a regime of delicious food, care and attention that was top tier. The staff were excellent. My mother is not the easiest resident and she was considered rather a naughty one (and perhaps she was one of the youngest) but from both sides I hear there was affection and I know she will miss that aspect enormously.
I would also like to mention the beautiful gardens and the location. Taking my mother up to the pub in her wheelchair past the beautiful houses was a highlight. Thank you to everyone who looked after my mother so well.

Grove Court is akin to a 5-star hotel, beautiful surroundings and manicured grounds. Mum's fall resulting in a fractured shoulder, required respite care. The manager at GC with great efficiency, coordinated everything; arranging a hospital assessment to securing a room. Within a day, Mum was settled
at GC, seamlessly transported there.
Adjusting to a new environment can be daunting yet the warm and attentive staff made the transition easy. They radiated care and kindness. The facilities are impressive, indoor and outdoor spaces, dining rooms, a bar and piano. Visitors welcome anytime, also children and dogs, and complimentary refreshments. Mum enjoyed various personal care services including hairdressing and nail care. A wide range of activities is offered. The meals provided were tasty and nutritious. Mum's time at GC was enriching. Tears at departure spoke volumes of her stay. GC goes beyond expectations, providing exceptional care and fostering a supportive community for its residents.

My 91-year-old mother stayed in a respite room at Grove Court for 5 weeks to recover from a hospital stay before being able to return to her own home where she lives independently. The management team assisted me greatly by being so accommodating in arranging, and then extending, her stay. The care
staff were friendly, taking time to chat with her and make sure she was always comfortable. The rooms and shared spaces were spotless and laundry done regularly. As she regained her strength she thoroughly enjoyed the tasty food and varied menu. Apart from her lovely sunny bedroom overlooking the river there were a number of comfortable lounges for her to sit in with visitors.

My mother became a resident at Grove Court in 2019 when she broke her wrist after a fall at home and could no longer manage on her own.
From the beginning, she was very happy. She enjoyed the camaraderie and the activities on offer and joined in at every opportunity. She was always very positive about
her care and was always clean, neat and tidy whatever time of day I visited.
All the carers were very kind and always willing to chat to me about Mum. They were quick to call the appropriate agency if there was any problem with Mum's health and to inform me of their action.
I have been very happy with the care my mother has received during the five years of her residency.

I have been living at Grove Court now for almost a year and while it has been difficult settling into a new and different environment the staff especially admin and management staff are unfailingly helpful and kind, perhaps a bit sharp occasionally when they are hard pressed.
Advice with technology
is always available and the food is always varied. There is a vegetarian and a fish option every day and breakfast is multiple choice and offers a tasty way to start the day.
Activities are excellent; my only comment that I would like some of them to be more demanding and some could benefit from more instruction.
Overall, Grove Court is a relaxing, friendly, environment with plenty of opportunities to make friends and to engage in a range of activities. Lots of lovely outdoor space, a range of walks and a very attractive shopping centre in the town with cakes, coffee shops, cinemas and restaurants.

The care provided is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful, to the family as well as to my aunt. She is treated with consideration, courtesy and respect, as well as having her needs met.

I wish all care homes were resourced to the level of Grove Court - our elders should be offered the best and that is what I see here. Great staff attitude, friendly and ready to problem solve. I feel comforted that Mum is being actively cared for and her individuality celebrated rather than experienced
as a problem because of underfunding and understaffing (I know there are lots of great staff in other care homes, but many seem to be underpaid and stretched to their limits). I feel very welcome each time I arrive and because the staff have been so forthcoming I feel I can still be usefully in touch from a distance when I have to step away. Thank you to all the Grove Court staff for the gift of peace of mind.

I would like to post a review about my aunt who has reached a year anniversary since she came to live at Grove Court.
Prior to coming she had been in hospital and at 100 years of age was very frail and had to be nursed in bed.
The care given is exemplary which I know has led to such a wonderful recovery,
she is smiling every day and the laughter that I thought we had lost is definitely back in bucket loads.
One year on she is up most days, able to feed herself and delights in the nutritious food provided.
The activities provided are wonderful and she loves to be involved.
She has now reached her 101 years, which is amazing after such a worrying time we had prior to her coming to Grove Court.
Thank you to all the staff, you have provided such a lovely haven for my aunt to live in and one that she truly deserves.

We have found the care home to be of hotel quality with a community spirit and feel and know the resident to be very well cared for to date.
The staff, whatever their role, are polite and welcoming and make us comfortable whenever we visit.
We like the fact that staff continually strive to maintain
the resident's interests and capabilities.
We have found on a couple of occasions that communication/requests can be slow to be passed on and responded to e.g around hair and chiropody appointments. That said we are delighted to have chosen this home for the resident.

My wife has been a resident at Grove Court since July 2001. The staff are very good at their job and also friendly on our visits to see her. All of her meals are liquid as she has difficulty with normal food, and the staff are fully aware she can take over an hour to feed her but the staff are very
helpful and do not try to rush her. The building is very well run and the grounds and gardens are a delight to sit out in the summer. Anne has an excellent room which is also very clean and comfortable, as she spends most of her time in bed as her limbs are very stiff and moving her takes a great effort, but the staff do their best to try and move her limbs with great care.

I came for respite care in December following a bout of ill health. Grove Court care was wonderful. All the staff were so attentive and so kind. My room was lovely on the ground floor overlooking the garden.
The food was excellent and my choices of meals were lovely.
The nursing care was brilliant
as, unfortunately, I had to return to hospital whilst staying there and their professionalism whilst unwell was superb.
I would like to give my very grateful thanks to everyone who looked after me there.

My 93-year-old mother has lived in Grove Court since September. The team work very hard to ensure she is individually cared for with kindness, respect and dignity. Mum is encouraged to be independent when she is able, and they responsively offer their services when she is unable.
The support and
friendship of the team are extended to me, and other family members. They're there whenever needed with experience and again kindness. Everyone from the receptionist on arrival to speaking with the senior nurse. I feel well supported in any emotional and practical issues that arise. Nothing seems too much trouble for anyone who works in Grove Court.
Inside and outside the building is welcoming to residents and visitors alike. The areas I like best are the little places that look like one’s own home. A couple of easy chairs around a small table with a book or a bag of knitting on the side, maybe a pile of magazines or a puzzle already on the go. Just perfect. Thank you.

Mum moved into Grove Court in June 2023 as a nursing care resident. She was immediately made welcome and her needs were identified. As a family, we have great regard for and are extremely grateful to the home and staff who do their utmost to ensure Mum is happy and safe. She is very loved there by everyone
and staff go out of their way to report to me what activities she has attended and how her mood is. She is treated with respect. Staff always report back to us immediately if she falls over, or if she has any medical problems.

My 94-year-old mother is very happy here. Most importantly she says the staff are all lovely and fun. I have also found this to be the case. It is easy for me to contact the staff and have an immediate response whenever I am concerned about anything to do with her health. My mother particularly enjoys

My stepfather moved to Grove Court following the death of my mother. He was a resident for about 18 months, and had not lived in the UK for over 50 years when he moved in. The staff made him feel so welcome and settled, despite him not being from the area (whereas a lot of the residents are). The team
are friendly and caring, treating all the residents with the utmost respect and dignity. The home itself is comfortable and like a real home-from-home rather than an institution. The grounds are beautiful. My stepfather really enjoyed his time there and they really helped him cope with the loss of my mother. As his health deteriorated, the care was amazing right through until the end, always ensuring he was happy comfortable and looked after. I could not recommend Grove Court more.

My dad lived contentedly at Grove Court for the last three years of his life.
It is well managed and has an amazing team at all levels. It was a wonderful home to my dad and a second home to me.
His care was individualised to his needs, maintaining his privacy and dignity at all times. The carers
on his team went above and beyond treating my dad with warmth and respect.
This level of care allowed me to relax and live my life as well. As a retired nurse I think the end of life care my dad received was exceptional. They cared for him, me and our family, nothing was ever to much trouble day or night.
Allowing us to sit back and spend quality time together. The grounds at Grove Court are amazing and well maintained. My dad and I spent many happy hours sitting by the summer house. I enjoyed many meals and the food is of high quality. The events team never stops planning activities taking into account the uniqueness of their residents. Grove Court you are the best.

My mother went to Grove Court for respite care earlier this year and we agreed that she should stay on permanently. We were pleased with that decision. She was very well looked after by the caring and friendly staff. The nursing team kept her safe, flagging her ongoing health issues with her GP to ensure
all her medical care was integrated. The social activities, led by the wonderful ladies, are brilliant - there are craft sessions, art classes, musical performances, social events, films and games. They made a real effort to get Mum involved. The gardens are lovely and well-used for social events, and on a sunny day we loved to take Mum out in her wheelchair to sit in the garden room. Mum enjoyed lunching in the smart dining room, and there is a real effort made to give meal time a sense of occasion. The team led by the manager have shown us support and kindness and we felt relieved that the last few months of Mum's life were spent somewhere she was safe and supported.

Following a hip operation I went to Grove Court for a two-week stay. I found everyone to be very friendly and caring. I liked the layout of the home, as I could find several indoor walks, which were all on the same level, and the grounds were very well kept, especially loved the garden room. Thought
the interior looked a little tired, the rooms rather small. I had expected more medical care e.g. help with exercise and physio but in general, concerns were looked into, and a GP was sought.

I have spent the last 10 years working in a care setting developing my knowledge and growing to love this profession, I have a true passion for delivering person-centred care to the highest standard. Well-being and enrichment are my focus here at Grove Court for both staff and residents.


My drive and dedication will enable us to continue delivering the best care for our residents along with maintaining independence, freedom of choice and having a jolly good time. For me, there is nothing more rewarding than a room full of smiling faces and the sound of laughter around our beautiful home.
