Kingfisher House Care Home Reviews (134)
Kingfisher House Care Home has a Review Score of 9.9 (9.908) out of 10, based on 48 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Kingfisher House Care Home has 134 reviews.
In some cases, there are not enough care staff to be fully functional for the care of some patients. I have found that some care staff do not check if a patient in their care has deficated/soiled the disposable pants (not nice to be sitting in dirty underware as it can cause sores on the bottom and not a nice odour either. Some like to choose what they want to wear, but often do not get the choice.
This review is based on what I or my wife have experienced, not my mother therefore it represents an opinion from outsider looking in not a residents experience.
Hi David, thank you for your review of our home. Warm regards, Nelsie
My wife has been a resident since October 2025. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They are very caring.
Thank you for your kind review. My team and I really appreciate your feedback.
Kingfisher House is an amazing place. I cannot find fault at all. My mum has lived here for 18 months and is happy, well cared for, treated with respect and compassion. I was impressed when I first met the manager, Alastair, and he came to visit my mum in her old home. He understood her communication difficulties and it was clear he understood well that this was not a measure of her intelligence. I have seen the culture of treating all residents by all staff as individuals, and I cannot explain how important that is to me. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing this, it really means a lot to us.
It's so lovely to hear that your mum has been happy and well cared for over the past 18 months, and that she's been treated with the respect and understanding she deserves. Taking the time to truly see each person as an individual is...
For past six months, my partner has been a resident at the above nursing home and has had end of life care.
Thank you for taking the time to share this with us.
We understand how important it is to feel that your partner is in the right place, especially over the past six months. It means a great deal to us to be trusted with their care, and we hope you have felt supported throughout. Providing kind,...
My mothers stay at Kingfisher House was sadly short but throughout her stay I could not fault the way she was cared for. She was looked after with dignity and respect despite being extremely poorly. During the final hours of her life, when I was with her throughout. The care, empathy and professionalism from the team both during the day and night was exemplary and I am personally very grateful to everyone who looked after her.
Thank you for your heartfelt review. It was our privilege to bring you both comfort at such a difficult time. Alistair and team
I cannot begin to praise all the staff enough. Everybody is always so helpful and dad received the best care at the end of his life, mum is struggling to come to terms with this but the staff are always there for her.
When we visit we usually get tea or coffee and biscuits, the staff know us by name, it is like a big family. Our dog, Wolfie is a regular visitor too.
I have to mention the entertainment ladies, Magda and Opal, my dad adored them and they made his last months full of fun, including trips to the local pub, BBQS at the home, he had a wonderful time.
In conclusion Kingfisher home is amazing.
Thank you for sharing your kind words. I am pleased to hear that your parents felt well cared for at Kingfisher House. Best wishes, Alastair
It was a really nice afternoon.
Thank you all at Kingfisher.
I am very happy with all the support and care we're getting from this place. The carers and everyone is very helpful. He is enjoying the activities very much as well.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm thrilled to hear you are happy with the services we are providing for your husband. Best wishes, Alistair
The staff are wonderful, but at weekends they find it difficult to find help if they need it.
Thank you for sharing your experience of our home. I would be most grateful to understand the reason you feel staff have difficulty sourcing help at weekends and would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to do this. As well as there always being a senior member of staff on duty, often being...
Whenever I have visited my dad, I have always been greeted so happily from staff. Very happy with Dad's care. He has only been here for a few weeks but has settled in well. We love going to the activities together.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm really pleased to hear that your father has settled in with us and is enjoying the activities. Best wishes.

His care during his stay was excellent. The staff could not have been more caring and patient.
During his final hours they were very supportive of the family and attended in all dad's needs. I would not hesitate to recommend Kingfisher house.
We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and thank you for entrusting us with the care of your dad. Warm regards, HM
