The home is situated on the outskirts of the village by Rendlesham Forest and comprises three self-contained communities in one location. There is a warm family atmosphere, with highly trained staff available to get to know residents individually and offer the highest standards of residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short stay basis.

The home is ideally equipped to provide residential support for elderly people living with different types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia and Korsacoff’s syndrome.

A real highlight of the home is its ‘forget me not’ garden, specially designed to provide a safe and stimulating environment for elderly residents living with a form of dementia.

As a family, we were at our lowest and my dear mum was at her most troubled and then she moved to Rendlesham! She was treated with respect and dignity, our family views were supported too. A lovely environment with caring and professional staff. My mum received the very best of everything. What more
can a family wish for? We shall be eternally grateful!

My mum was cared for by the team at Rendlesham Care Centre as if she was a member of their own family. They were very understanding even when presented with challenging behaviour. Her care plan and needs were adapted as her dementia progressed so that she remained as comfortable and as safe as possible.
We thank them for their understanding and compassion in difficult circumstances. Superb care home.

Overall cleanliness poor - particularly the unit kitchen.
Staff don't appear to understand dignity and privacy e.g. leaving a resident to go to the toilet without staying and talking over item.
Toilet rolls x 2 in the bedroom - not necessary.
Witnessed a resident left unattended for a long time.

My husband was cared for at Rendlesham for a very short period. My family and I were overwhelmed at the love and care shown to my husband during this period and cannot thank all the staff highly enough. We did so appreciate their kindness to us during this difficult time.

My father's stay started in June 2018. He was suffering with dementia. Throughout his stay, he was treated with compassion and sensitivity by all staff, especially the carers. My father passed away on 8th February with carers by his side. What wonderful people.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Rendlesham Care Centre I have never come across such a splendid group of staff members. They are all dedicated, professional, kind and go that extra yard that makes all the difference. The management are excellent being attentive and always available to sort out any small

Carers are kind and caring but usually short staffed. Accommodation is adequate but tired. Nursing staff are generally good. Food is poor and very basic with nothing to stimulate enjoyment of eating. There are no activities over weekends and no trips out on the bus. Courtyard garden needs lots of work
and is not a nice environment. The sunny attractive first-floor balcony is locked and can't be accessed.

My wife was nearing the end of her life after having had advanced Alzheimer's for twelve years, the last 2 1/2 at Rendlesham Care Centre. The manager and her staff were absolutely wonderful to my wife and also to me. I have not seen anything even approaching such treatment in seven years at several
homes. My wife passed away before Christmas and at the end the carers couldn't have been more kind and helpful. I will always be eternally grateful to all of them and never will forget their help and understanding.

My Dad was in Rendlesham Care centre for a short time, following a hospitalisation and an increase in his care needs. The home is clean, modern and professionally run. The staff struck me genuine and caring. I definitely felt that my dad was comfortable in his room and safe and secure in the dementia
unit. He received a high level of personal and nursing car.e I am sure this is why he was much happier than he had been in the hospital (and also why he recovered some of the speech he had lost in the hospital)

All of the staff from care home manager through to the carers/chef and housekeepers were extremely caring, polite and respectful. The atmosphere in the care home was good, friendly and kind. All the carers were gentle and always helpful. Whilst I was in the home my special dietary needs were catered
for and the food was always varied, warm, tasty and healthy.
All of the staff were very very friendly.

We were so grateful to all the staff who became our family in Mum's last weeks. Everyone is afforded equal consideration and there is a comfortable feeling of home. Our Mum was loved and compassionately care for, cherished by everyone we met. I was supported during Mum's final days and always welcomed.

On the whole, I have no complaints. The manager and staff did their best despite being overstretched. My mum's end of life care did not go as planned as there was no senior staff available to supervise over the new year so she died following a blue light transfer to the hospital. I wish underused facilities
were utilised. No residents were taken outside into gardens which was a shame.

My friend with Lewy Body dementia was a resident for two years until her death in January 2018. Living 300 miles away I was only able to visit regularly about every 6 -8 weeks but the home was very good at keeping me up to date with any changes or problems.
The staff members were always friendly and
welcoming and my friend usually seemed happy and content.
The standard of good care was evident although attention to detail was sometimes lacking particularly the laundry and keeping her room clutter free.
Her care during her final days, when I was with her was excellent.
I believe if her GP surgery had been more vigilant or the home more insistent, that her cancer would have been diagnosed and dealt with earlier. Whether this would have made any difference to the outcome is, however, debatable.
Overall, I feel Rendlesham Care Centre keep a good standard of care, better than many and I would be happy to recommend if asked by a prospective resident.

My husband has been in the home since January 16th, 2018. He is being well cared for. All staff are dedicated and very caring and will go out of their way to help if any problems. Home is very clean. I would like to thank all involved for the great work they do.

Both my mother and more recently my aunt both benefitted from the excellent personal and medical care received at the Rendlesham Care Centre. Their rooms were well appointed, bright and airy and the layout of the building was purpose built and well designed. I have nothing but praise for the management

My mother has resided at Rendlesham for one year. She has been cared for extremely well. The staff are professional and diligent. They have created a happy atmosphere in which my mother has thrived.
The special care has been highly effective in managing my mothers' difficult condition. I have also
witnessed the dignity in which all residents have been treated. I feel totally confident that my mother is in the right place and is cared for with love and devotion.
