Carers are kind and caring but usually short staffed. Accommodation is adequate but tired. Nursing staff are generally good. Food is poor and very basic with nothing to stimulate enjoyment of eating. There are no activities over weekends and no trips out on the bus. Courtyard garden needs lots of work and is not a nice environment. The sunny attractive first-floor balcony is locked and can't be accessed.

My friend was resident for 6 days only at Rendlesham Care Centre and then sadly died. During this short time, the staff were so kind and professional and I/we could not have hoped for better care. Thanks to all concerned.

My wife was nearing the end of her life after having had advanced Alzheimer's for twelve years, the last 2 1/2 at Rendlesham Care Centre. The manager and her staff were absolutely wonderful to my wife and also to me. I have not seen anything even approaching such treatment in seven years at several homes. My wife passed away before Christmas and at the end the carers couldn't have been more kind and helpful. I will always be eternally grateful to all of them and never will forget their help and understanding.

My Dad was in Rendlesham Care centre for a short time, following a hospitalisation and an increase in his care needs. The home is clean, modern and professionally run. The staff struck me genuine and caring. I definitely felt that my dad was comfortable in his room and safe and secure in the dementia unit. He received a high level of personal and nursing car.e I am sure this is why he was much happier than he had been in the hospital (and also why he recovered some of the speech he had lost in the hospital)

All of the staff from care home manager through to the carers/chef and housekeepers were extremely caring, polite and respectful. The atmosphere in the care home was good, friendly and kind. All the carers were gentle and always helpful. Whilst I was in the home my special dietary needs were catered for and the food was always varied, warm, tasty and healthy.

All of the staff were very very friendly.

We were so grateful to all the staff who became our family in Mum's last weeks. Everyone is afforded equal consideration and there is a comfortable feeling of home. Our Mum was loved and compassionately care for, cherished by everyone we met. I was supported during Mum's final days and always welcomed. Thank you.

On the whole, I have no complaints. The manager and staff did their best despite being overstretched. My mum's end of life care did not go as planned as there was no senior staff available to supervise over the new year so she died following a blue light transfer to the hospital. I wish underused facilities were utilised. No residents were taken outside into gardens which was a shame.

My friend with Lewy Body dementia was a resident for two years until her death in January 2018. Living 300 miles away I was only able to visit regularly about every 6 -8 weeks but the home was very good at keeping me up to date with any changes or problems.
The staff members were always friendly and welcoming and my friend usually seemed happy and content.
The standard of good care was evident although attention to detail was sometimes lacking particularly the laundry and keeping her room clutter free.
Her care during her final days, when I was with her was excellent.
I believe if her GP surgery had been more vigilant or the home more insistent, that her cancer would have been diagnosed and dealt with earlier. Whether this would have made any difference to the outcome is, however, debatable.

Overall, I feel Rendlesham Care Centre keep a good standard of care, better than many and I would be happy to recommend if asked by a prospective resident.

Both my mother and more recently my aunt both benefitted from the excellent personal and medical care received at the Rendlesham Care Centre. Their rooms were well appointed, bright and airy and the layout of the building was purpose built and well designed. I have nothing but praise for the management and staff involved.

My mother has resided at Rendlesham for one year. She has been cared for extremely well. The staff are professional and diligent. They have created a happy atmosphere in which my mother has thrived.

The special care has been highly effective in managing my mothers' difficult condition. I have also witnessed the dignity in which all residents have been treated. I feel totally confident that my mother is in the right place and is cared for with love and devotion.

My mother has lived in Rendlesham Care Centre for more than 3 years. During this time, she has been treated with kindness, professionalism has her dignity preserved and is safe, well cared for and happy. The staff maintain an effective routine whilst keeping cheerful and respectful to the residents. They encourage relatives to interact and so relax in what could be a difficult, stressful situation.

My father has stayed at the home for respite care and he has returned home well. All in all the home and staff are as good a substitute to being a family as one could find.

During the three years, my husband has been a resident here at Rendlesham Care Centre has been constantly improving. Communication has improved, staff now stay on the same unit rather than move around which allows residents to know them and carers to know the needs of the residents so much better. The atmosphere between staff is now very good and gives a generally happy atmosphere to the whole home. I am happy that my husband is in the best possible place.

The manager and her team support our family in so many ways, we feel that they not only care for Mum excellently but always have an eye out for Dad, which enables us as daughters to keep our family as a unit.

When things get difficult, the manager is always ready with a listening ear, and for this we are so grateful, it allows us to take stock and carry on.

Having Dad able to visit Mum as often as he wishes, makes us relieved in knowing that not only Mum's needs are being met but Dad's also. Dad has had his first respite at Rendlesham, giving us a much-needed break. Knowing they are still together is wonderful for us.

This care home cared for a very good friend of mine until her death in February. I was more than happy with the care and attention she received. The team are amazing and caring as is the manager who in her death dealt with my needs in the most amazing way. They still welcome me back with open arms.

Since my stepmother has been living at Rendlesham Care Centre she has improved so much, she is now eating again and seems happier in herself. She has settled in nicely and is enjoying the activities that the home provides, she is regularly having her hair done again and even had her nails painted much to her delight. Nothing is too much trouble when we go to visit and they are amazing with my dad (her husband) when he goes to visit, he is blind and not very mobile but the staff are so kind to him and make him feel so welcome. Staff always have a smile for everyone. So pleased that my stepmother is here.
