Every single member of the staff at Stowlangtoft Hall is caring, efficient and so kind. In the last few days as dad has deteriorated they have been amazing to us all. We cannot fault the care they have given my dad.

My husband has a long term illness and stayed at Stowlangtoft Hall for several months earlier this year to recuperate after a period in hospital and to give me respite. This was a first-time experience of a nursing home for both of us but I would have no hesitation in using Stowlangtoft Hall again should
the occasion arise. When I went to visit him, I was made to feel comfortable and welcome - from the management downwards. Staff always had time to talk to me about his wellbeing and to help with any concerns. He was taken care of, made friends and visibly improved over his stay. I was extremely grateful also for that the support I received. Thank you.

My late mother stayed at Stowlangtoft Hall for a period of four months on end of life care. The love, care and attention she received was outstanding which resulted in an improvement in her health. Once settled in, she enjoyed taking part in the varied activity programme and taking lunch in the dining
room was a highlight of the day. Her room was always kept tidy and clean and the carers put a lot of thought into dressing her smartly which really contributed to her well-being, as did her regular visits to the hair salon. She also loved being taken out in her wheelchair for walks in the beautiful grounds. Stowlangtoft Hall is a special place, as are all of the staff that play such an important part in the lives of the residents. Our family will always be grateful that our mother was privileged to spend her final days here.

My adorable Mum stayed at Stowlangtoft Hall for 4 months on end-of-life care.
I cannot express enough how my Mums life was showered with love and care from everyone at the home.
She truly was so well, happy and improved to the point we often thought Mum would live for ages and they got it wrong
she wasn’t end of life.
It was simply the best experience and home environment for Mum.
We were devastated to lose Mum but gained comfort knowing the care was outstanding from every member of staff.
I’m so grateful as we all are mum final journey was with this amazing nursing home. Full credit to the manager and all her staff.
Special love to so many of the staff who always went the extra mile.
You reap what you sow and Mum was truly loved it showed.
Kindest regards.

I have been regularly visiting my friend's mother here since she was admitted in December 2022. The care staff are friendly but very professional, nothing is too much trouble for them. In my opinion they provide excellent person centred care. My friend's mother is really happy here, enjoying the food
and cleanliness of her room and surroundings. Many of the staff have been here a number of years which speaks in itself for job satisfaction and senior leadership. Management are very helpful, always happy to answer any queries and give advice.

We are extremely grateful for the care and attention my mother-in-law is receiving from Stowlangtoft. She has complex needs after suffering a stroke last year. All the staff ensured her settling-in period was a smooth process. She has made amazing progress at the home, especially in the activity room.
Thanks

I am more than happy with the quality of the facilities and care my mother is receiving, we feel very lucky to have been able to gain a place for Mum at Stowlangtoft Hall as the setting is superb. The nature of the home itself is what sets it apart from everything else, a beautiful old mansion, set
in acres of lovely countryside. All of the individual areas and rooms available to the residents are another feature that makes the place so good, drawing room, library, orangery, bowling green, sensory courtyard area with fountain and all of the character that goes hand in hand with these Halls. With plenty of activities on a daily basis and other events, a resident will always find something to do.

We were very lucky to get my mother a place at Stowlangtoft Hall for her palliative care, which crucially gave her quality of life in her final weeks in beautiful surroundings and comfort. She absolutely loved the Hall, and the whole team - nurses, managers, chef and housekeeping were all amazing.
The quality of care and attention she received was outstanding, and she was able to have her own possessions around her in the room too, which meant so much to her. The care assistants were so attentive to both her and us as a family, and whenever we would visit, they always checked in with us to make sure we were also OK, and they made us feel welcome with cups of tea on hand! My mother spoke so highly of all of the care assistants and the Stowlangtoft Hall team, and she loved her daily interactions with all of them; they really made it possible for her to fully relax once she was there, which was so important to us in those times. We would highly recommend the Hall to anyone else.

My mother was able to move from a ward at West Suffolk Hospital into a lovely room at Stowlangtoft for palliative care. My brother and I had visited the nursing home before Mum arrived, and were immediately put at ease and given all of the information we needed to know that this was definitely the right
decision for Mum to be kept most comfortable in her final days. All of the team at Stowlangtoft were amazing, very approachable, kind, caring and always professional. We were able to make Mum's room a home from home, which helped us all relax together and being able to be with Mum as much as we needed to be, was a massive help to us all. The quality of the palliative nursing care that Mum received was excellent, and we will be eternally grateful to the whole of the team, but especially to the nurses who helped Mum, and us all so much. As previously already said, words cannot begin to say how much we appreciate all that you did for my mother and us.

I spent four weeks in hospital and was then transferred to Stowlangtoft Hall as my care package wasn't sorted. I spent three wonderful weeks here, and it felt like I was on a luxury holiday. I felt at times that I was thoroughly spoilt. There was not one of the staff that I didn't like, plus they were

My husband was returning to Stowlangtoft for another respite stay after first staying at the home in 2020. Staff welcomed him back with open arms, and he felt so at ease knowing that people remembered him. We were given an option of rooms to choose from both that overlooked the courtyard garden on the
ground floor so he could access the garden by himself. The food was fantastic, and he loved his cooked breakfast. He enjoyed it so much that he said if he has to move somewhere permanently, it would be Stowlangtoft. It is great for me to know we have somewhere to support with respite where my husband feels safe and secure. Thank you to the manager and all the team!

My mother-in-law was discharged after many weeks in hospital to Stowlangtoft Hall following a massive stroke and brain bleed. We were told of the limitations she would have in hospital and life seemed rather bleak for her.
She has been in the home for 4-weeks, and the change in her is absolutely miraculous.
Her speech and cognition had been badly affected, and although it had been improving slightly, it has come on leaps and bounds since she arrived at Stowlangtoft. Amazingly, she is now also mobilising the arm, which had been affected by her stroke. She has a newfound energy and commitment to have a go at life again.
The staff treat her with such tenderness and attentiveness. She has been able to form relationships with her carers and nurses. They are a great team and you can see how well they work together, especially during these Covid stressed times. I have found communication with the office and other members of staff incredibly clear, helpful and reassuring.

Stowlangtoft Hall was a lovely last leg in a very long journey for my 98-year-old grandfather.

A more caring home you could not ask for. Staff are diligent and were incredibly kind to both him and the family throughout his stay. During the very challenging time of COVID, the home did everything

within its guidelines to provide visiting opportunities and support for his transition.

The activity coordinator ensured he kept up his social experience, and the French chef allowed him to maintain his linguistic skills. Through good nutritional support and encouragement, he regained his independent mobility allowing him to access more of the variety of the home of communal rooms.

At the end of his life, the home was nothing short of remarkable. Responsive, kind, compassionate and attentive without being intrusive. A difficult time was made much easier, and his end of life care was carried out in a familiar place where his relatives could be with him.

We will be forever grateful.

We are so grateful to all involved with Stow Healthcare, and in particular, those staff at Stowlangtoft Hall, for all they have done for our family member. They provided excellent care for our loved one, treated him with great respect and always tried their best to engage him in activities, cater for
his needs and interests, and accommodate his treasured possessions. Sadly, his spell at the Hall was not for long before he passed, but the care he received at the end of his life was brilliant, and the compassion they showed the family was really appreciated. Thank you so much for all that you did for our family.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.938 for Stowlangtoft Hall is calculated as follows: ( (183 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 195 Ratings = 4.938
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stowlangtoft Hall is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months.
