A care home that feels like home. My mum has been a resident for over a year and is full of praise for the staff and all they do. They have been remarkable during this last year, doing their best to maintain safe visiting. The health and happiness of the resident are important, and the staff really
get to know the residents as individuals.

My husband has been a resident at Stowlangtoft Hall since December 2018. He has Parkinson's and Lewey Body Dementia. After breaking his pelvis, he has been unable to stand or walk. The staff have looked after him extremely well and with love. They are also very caring and supportive of me, and of the
family when they visit. His care has been second to none from day one; we could not have wished for more or better.

I joined a group at the age of 15 to be in the caring profession. I qualified as an SRN in 1959. My husband has a complex medical health problem. It was in 1997 that mental health care became abysmal, and I was forced to source help myself. I settle on Stowlangroft Hall as I was happy with all I saw
and heard. Everyone was very kind, happy, caring and welcoming. I was also impressed with your lovely residents. My husband's relatives think the same as me; lovely building and staff.

My mother is safe and well cared for at Stowlangtoft Hall. She is kept in good health, and even small health issues are dealt with. The activities are excellent and greatly enjoyed by my mother. There is always something new happening and relatives are informed about the programme on a weekly basis.
I always look forward to the newsletter, especially the photos. Thank you, everyone!

My grandfather came to Stowlangtoft Hall for some respite care in 2019 and never wanted to leave, so he became a permanent resident. He prefers a quieter life and doesn’t join in with every activity that is on offer, and seems to of struck a nice bond with the staff. As a family, we can’t thank you
all enough throughout the pandemic; well done to everyone.
Reply from Eve Fynn, Marketing and Communications Lead at Stowlangtoft HallIt is an absolute pleasure to care for your Grandfather; he is a joy to have around. This has been an unprecedented year for everyone. My mum moved to the care home just a few weeks before the first National Lockdown, so contact has been restricted for us. The staff at Stowlangtoft have been excellent in managing the situation during the past year, with residents given utmost priority
as to their well being and safety, but at the same time, ensuring relatives are being kept up to date at all times.
I have found the staff really helpful and caring, and as a relative, feel part of the "Stowlangtoft Family".
I am looking forward to (and hoping) that we can move back to a more normal world shortly.
A huge thank you to all the staff at Stowlangtoft for their hard work during these difficult times and for giving me the peace of mind that my mum is being cared for so well.

My father (94) initially came for respite care, but within a matter of days decided he wanted to stay at Stowlangtoft Hall permanently. He loved the ambience of the home, the friendly, attentive staff as well as the other residents. Unfortunately, my father died at the end of September, but we, as a
family, have nothing but praise for the way he was looked after in those last few days by all the staff at every level. The care was truly exceptional - thank you.

Stowlangtoft Hall has been caring for our mum for nearly four years. Their approach has always been friendly and professional. As we are distant and visit infrequently, it is a great comfort to know that Mum is being cared for in a kind and attentive community. The activities team are an excellent source
of events and interests, and we value the regular newsletters, which include pictures of the community.

Mum has been at Stowlangtoft for just over a year. During that time she’s had a big stroke which necessitated weeks in hospital. Staff were quick to observe the stroke, speedy to summon help and as a result, with encouragement all round once she returned, has made pretty much a full recovery. We do
not know of any member of staff who has been less than kind and helpful – the team are excellent. All activities are very inclusive and there’s a wide range available from curling, through music and movement to craft and gardening. Mum joins in with pretty much everything and is enthusiastic. She's happy and we hear laughter regularly. This year has been difficult with coronavirus but the team there have managed to keep the virus out by taking a great many sensible precautions around health and hygiene. They’ve also managed to keep the residents upbeat and happy despite relatives being unable to visit. Management have kept us all advised regularly. Excellent!

Excellent respite stay. Careing, professional staff who quickly got to know the client's needs encourages independence and participation in activities whilst caring for personal needs and enabling recuperation post-hospital admission. Excellent food, lovely environment. Would highly recommend and may
use more regularly if one-week stays are catered for.

My mother had been a resident at Stowlangtoft Hall since January 2015 she has received outstanding health care and attention. The staff and management have always been extremely kind, attentive and courteous and played along to her great sense of humour.
The Hall is set in beautiful surroundings and
her room has been light and airy it has been a great relief to know she has been so well cared for and in her final days she was treated with so much dignity and compassion. We will always be so grateful.

My aunt has been a resident of Stowlangtoft Hall for several years. Whenever I have visited her I have found her to be receiving excellent care in a beautifully maintained home that is set in fabulous countryside. The staff have always been so lovely, kind and have been so caring in their dealings with
both her and us her family. The caring and compassionate ethos of this family-run home are evident in every level of its management and I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

We couldn't have found a better 'home from home' for our father to live out his final months/year. The home and staff were very good. Dad was at home from the moment he arrived, just as though he has always lived here. He was not one to mix too much, but this was not a problem for the staff, they went
beyond the call to look after our dad's needs. I cannot say that you would find a better place to entrust your relatives care to. We cannot praise the staff enough as they cared for our dad to the very end. We would have no problem with recommending the home and staff to anyone.

My mother (96) has been resident for twelve months. She receives very good care from a kind and crucially, fairly unchanging team. On odd occasions when a problem has arisen, it is well and professionally dealt with.

The activities are good; it is very hard to please all of the people all of the

time, but they offer many diversions and make it attractive for families to visit.

The building itself is very grand, and there is a wonderful sense of space and a civilised atmosphere.

My mother spent 2 months at Stowlangtoft Hall over Christmas last year. She wouldn’t have chosen to go into a care home but as it became difficult to manage at home she accepted that she needed more help. We were so impressed with the professionalism and caring attitude of all the staff. Everyone played
their part in making her as comfortable as possible. We met the owners of the home, nurses, carers, kitchen staff and cleaners and everyone was equally wonderful.
Her room was lovely with beautiful views over the parkland and was big enough for our whole family to spend quality time with mum. We enjoyed seeing the local primary school children singing Christmas carols to the residents, one of which was her grandson. The home always felt so welcoming and family orientated. We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone enrolled in mums care. It truly deserves its outstanding rating.

My mother moved to Stowlangtoft Hall recently and has settled very well. The friendly and professional staff made her feel at home straight away. The care that she has received since moving in has been exceptional and has helped her to feel well and more comfortable at home. I very much enjoy my visits
to Stowlangtoft Hall knowing my mother is safe and well cared for. The daily social activities are superb and means that my mother is entertained and stimulated during the day. My mother in law has settled in very quickly. The staff are always very friendly, welcoming and supportive every time I visit. I can relax each time I visit and can spend quality time with my mother in law in a beautiful environment.

The daily social interaction has been very important for her and

has enriched her life's experience. She is enjoying life.

To think of improvements is extremely difficult as we know that she is in good, safe hands and we do not have to worry in any way about her when we are at home.

The food rating I would put as unknown but as I have to give a rating this has to be based on her comments to me. She certainly looks well fed.

Perhaps more trips out?

Occasional evening meal in the dining hall - a social event?

Residents' use of computers?

Tea dancing?

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.863)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.863) out of 10 for Stowlangtoft Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.938 for Stowlangtoft Hall is calculated as follows: ( (183 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 195 Ratings = 4.938
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stowlangtoft Hall is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 registered maximum number of service users is 9.4, which has been reached with 17 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
