Beach Lawns is a beautiful home in a stunning location, overlooking the beachfront of Weston-Super-Mare.

It’s the team, who are passionate about enriching the lives of their residents, which make this home stand out. The highly experienced staff provide residential, dementia, nursing and palliative care, they also provide respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance.

The home is thriving, with so many activities to enjoy, from bespoke, one-to-one sessions, to fabulous group activities. One of the residents runs his own quiz, there’s karaoke, dancing, crafts, cake decorating and games galore.

The team are passionate about exploring the life histories of their residents and finding out what brings them joy, so they can enrich their lives. One resident recently marked his 106th birthday with an interview with the BBC on his miraculous survival when his plane crashed into the sea.   

The environment at Beach Lawns is stunning, with beautiful bedrooms with ensuite walk-in wet rooms, spacious lounge areas, many of which have period features, and a hair salon, for regular appointments with a mobile hairdresser.

The gardens are a wonderful place to relax, with a sun terrace and direct private access to the neighbouring Clarence Park. This summer the residents have even been growing their own produce.

The local community are embraced into life in the home, with regular Holy Communion and visitors – and the residents love their regular trips to the Salvation Army.

The team, many of whom have been with the home for over ten years, champion the residents and their loved ones to have a very active role to play in how their home is run. Resident ambassadors love to welcome new residents and their families, as well as providing feedback on everything from the activities to the menus.

In the dining rooms they enjoy delicious, home-cooked meals, with home baking every day for afternoon tea.

My mom lived at Beach Lawn Home for over four years and recently passed while in the fast-track program nursing area. Overall, I was very pleased with her care. The staff was very caring and provided good care while in the main living area. I lived abroad, and when visiting, I found the home to be very
clean, tidy and overall professionally managed. If your loved one transfers to the nursing section of Beach Lawns, and you live a distance away, I would recommend arranging to have relatives or close friends visit regularly. In addition, we hired professional caregivers to visit regularly. Initially, when my mom transitioned into the nursing section, her room window was left open all night during December and was discovered the next morning by a relative - the room was extremely cold. In addition, bathing care was not the best, as her hands and bed sheets were found to be soiled. After talking with the administrator (the second-in-command main administrator was out of the office), the situation was corrected.

I can assure you that the dignity of our residents is paramount, and our personal care is of a very high standard. Sometimes residents will have a mishap, and we are very quick to react when this happens. We also regularly check our residents through the night, which includes checking the temperature in their bedrooms. In terms of the professional carers hired, we were happy to recommend these in light of the one-to-one support you wished your mother to have around the clock.

My mother has been living in Beach Lawns Residential and Nursing Home for several weeks since being admitted to hospital with cancer.
My mother will be there until her passing. I am very happy with her care, food, staff and overall, the friendliness of everyone who works there. Well done.

I find the staff at Beach Lawns Care Home helpful and friendly. When I visit the care home to pick up my father, the staff are always willing to help, eg, by providing access through the lounge and opening the door so we can get to the car park. Many times I have asked the staff for help, and they have

The manager needs more training on how best to communicate better with the families of the service users she cares for. She does not conduct herself professionally and gives the impression she does not care as long as the money service users is being paid. Now my relative is in a new care home, they
can see a massive difference between a good home to a great home which the care home they were at previously does not seem to strive for. Funny how nothing has been pinched!? Some of the staff gave my relative cold showers and laughed. When they were challenged, they asked my relative why they had done that which falls under intimidation. Giving constant jam sandwiches is not looking after someone’s health. The call unit to call for assistance was constantly wrapped in cable and was not plugged in. The home’s laundry service needs to be improved as giving the wrong clothes could be contamination. Leaving someone in a room with a small desk fan when we have a heatwave is not good especially when it’s not communicated properly and then having their staff lie about it.
I cannot fault some staff like the night time nurse and a head nurse.

I am very happy at Beach Lawns Residential and Nursing Home. The staff treat me with dignity and the nurses are first-class, the manager also treats me very well. The only complaint, the kitchen runs out of bananas, only joking. What else can I say? I am very happy, the food is first-class, as someone

Three weeks respite recovery after a short stay in hospital. A lovely location, right on the seafront at Weston-Super-Mare. Highly recommend. Twenty-four-hour nursing and personal care. Good selection of meals.

My mum has been a resident of Beach Lawns since December 2016. The love and care she receives on a daily basis are second to none. The carers go above and beyond to meet all her needs. Unfortunately she is now bed bound but the carers are still fulfilling her every need, whether she is in bed or out
in a nursing chair enjoying the company of the residents. The entertainment team are wonderful and always include her in activities, she loves listening to music and singalongs. A special thanks to the senior carers on Memory Lane and the new manager who are all very happy to chat to family members. Nothing is ever too much trouble.

My uncle was very well cared for at Beach Lawns Residential Home. He had a lovely room overlooking the beach and was made to feel welcome (as were we, his visitors) by all the staff during his time there. He was a private person who wasn't interested in joining in the activities, he would rather watch
and was allowed to do so. The staff made time to chat with him instead. I felt his needs were very well catered for.

My mother has recently used Beach Lawns for respite care. She has been living with me and my husband for the last 2 and a half years and we all really needed a break. Mum had some reservations about entering into respite care as she has no dementia, but does have poor mobility issues. She agreed to
give it a try. What a triumph! She absolutely loves it. The staff are amazing with her giving her the best attention possible. She has a beautiful room with a fabulous sea view. She has several activities during the week including crafting and quizzes. She has like-minded people of her own age (87) to talk to and a lovely building to live in, comfortable lounges and a garden area. She would admit herself she is quite fussy with food but this too is also a triumph and particularly raves over the chicken dinner and homemade cakes brought around mid-afternoon. The manager is approachable and efficient, as are the staff. I simply cannot fault Beach Lawns and know mum is well taken care of there.

My father has been a resident for over five years and has always received good care and respect. During the pandemic they have made sure he was vaccinated very early on and received his second one on time. The family receives a newsletter regularly showing news and up to date information on visiting
rules but also photographs of the residents taking part in activities. I have had no problems seeing my father, at first I was in the garden and he was inside, then behind screens in the conservatory and now tested and full PEE but no screen. The carers bring him on time and fetch him later on. I can now visit his room with full protection. I have complete faith in all staff and do have to worry about his care.

Beach Lawns go out of their way to help residents and their family. My mother has been at this home for eight years and I don't regret one day of it. All the staff are great. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
