At Norewood Lodge, a caring team of professionals ensure exceptional care and support is provided to residents on an individual basis for short or long term needs. The home provides a range of care plans to anyone over 50 including residential, nursing, palliative and convalescence care.

Situated close to the coast not far from the seaside town of Clevedon, the home boasts wonderful views of the Bristol Channel and the hills of Wales. The property has large gardens for residents to enjoy, while a modern interior offers residents comfortable accommodation. All bedrooms are en suite and some have views of the pretty gardens.

The chef works hard to ensure that the tastes and dietary requirements of each resident are met and that meal times are a tasty and enjoyable occasion.

This is the second time my husband has had respite care at Norewood Lodge. His care was excellent. He has so many needs following a major stroke and totally dependent on carers. Staff were exceptional, very professional. noting any concerns and informing me.

I always felt that dad had an arm around his shoulder while he was a resident at Norewood Lodge. I always found the staff very kind and caring.

Richard Hier

Job Title: Regional Support Manager

Joined: 2015

I am currently a regional support manager and the registered home manager of Norewood Lodge Care Home. I have worked for Bupa since 2015 in a number of roles and joined Norewood Lodge in December 2023.


I first qualified as a registered nurse in 2012 and I worked in a number of NHS hospitals before I joined Bupa. I worked in neurosurgery and neuro rehab and cared for adults with cognitive impairment and brain injury.


I really found this rewarding and when I was presented with an opportunity to be the clinical lead of a large Bupa care home where I could apply my interest in caring for people with cognitive impairment to those who live in care homes, I jumped at the chance. I soon realised that I thrived in leading a team to deliver positive outcomes for our residents and haven’t looked back since.


What I enjoy the most is leading a team to deliver great outcomes for our residents. It’s the little things that make a resident’s day that I find the most rewarding. I also really enjoy being part of the Bupa team. We are all so well connected which means there is always support on hand and creates a feeling of security and honesty.


Outside of work, I live locally in Portishead and I have 2 daughters. I also like to try and keep fit and healthy.
