Reviews

9.7 Wolborough Court has a Review Score of 9.7 (9.739)

The Review Score of 9.7 (maximum of 10) for Wolborough Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 10 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Wolborough Court in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.739 for Wolborough Court is calculated as follows: ( (89 Excellents x 5) + (29 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 119 Ratings = 4.739

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wolborough Court is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 5 positive Reviews (25 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 8 Reviews ÷ 5 Target Reached = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My mother has now been a resident at Wolborough Court for 3 and a half years. She has Alzheimer's and her condition is gradually deteriorating as time goes on. The home is always calm and welcoming, the staff - from the cleaner, kitchen staff, care assistants, senior staff and managerial staff are always cheerful and greet visitors with a smile, even though their shifts may be challenging.
The rooms are clean and tidy and the dining room always looks lovely and welcoming with fresh flowers and menus on the tables, plus the food is excellent. The care given to the residents is compassionate and caring.

Nikki Rogers, Director at Wolborough Court responded to this review on 18 Sep 2017:

Thank you for your kind words about the home and our staff, we are pleased to know that you find the home and the staff so helpful, compassionate and cheerful. I will pass the comments on to the manager and staff who will, of course, be thrilled to know that they have made your experience of care homes a good experience.

Having only been a resident for a matter of months, I am very happy here and consider all aspects to be most satisfactory. I am also very glad to have had the opportunity. Many thanks.

My mum has been a resident at Wolborough Court for almost 2years now. When she lived at home she was in and out of A&E regularly with falls or with UTI's.
Since being at the home her health and well being has improved greatly and she hasn't been admitted to hospital. Although we would much rather mum was able to live at home, we know that being at Wolborough is the best for mum and we know that she is being very well cared for.

My mum has been at Wolborough Court for three years and suffers from Alzheimer's. As the disease progresses, mum gets more angry and difficult. The staff deal with her with love and compassion. In turn, mum loves the staff. I could not have found a better place for my mum to end her days.

My mother and my uncle are both residents at the above home.
They are both cared for very well.
We are very satisfied with all aspects of their care.
The management and staff are very professional in their approach to residents and we have no issues whatsoever in relation to them being at the home.
The premises are always clean and tidy and maintained to a high standard.
We are very pleased with everything at the home.

I couldn't be happier with my Dad's care at Wolborough Court where he has lived for the last year. The Manageress is a lovely person, who is always available to talk to. All the staff are very friendly, caring and courteous. The bedroom is spacious with a lovely view and everywhere is always clean and ordered. As soon as you walk in, you feel the happy atmosphere of the home and above all Dad settled in easily and seems very content. Residents are treated with respect and activities are organised to vary the days. Thank you so much to everyone at Wolborough Court for all your hard work!

My father who suffers from dementia has been a resident of Wolborough Court for the past 14 months and I cannot recommend it highly enough. He had spent the previous three years living at home with 24hr live in care and although well looked after he lacked the stimulation of seeing people on a continual basis. Once he became a resident in the home he has seemed much happier and far more stimulated. The Manager leads an excellent dedicated team of staff who all seem very happy in their work and who are always on hand to offer advice and help. They are all aware of my father's needs and are able to answer any questions or concerns I may have. My father seems to enjoy all his meals and will even on occasions join in with the numerous weekly activities on offer despite his dementia.

A quality care home which has a very dedicated manager who goes about her business in a very professional manner. A most courteous lady who is very well liked and respected by residents, staff, visitors and by trades people alike. The care home also has very polite and courteous staff. Excellent care and a very good medical service i.e doctors, nurses, ambulance, I'm nearny A and E facilities at the hospital. Kitchen, dining area spotlessly clean very well lit, all meals to a very high standard. To conclude, may I offer my own sincere thanks to all management and all staff for their care and dedication.

For the last 4 and a half years the staff at Wolborough Court have taken great care with my mother. They made her stay at the home very comfortable. If ever the meals were not to her liking, they would offer an alternative.
