Recently had to find a suitable care home for my Aunt who was suffering from delirium. Tina and the team were so accommodating and helpful. The facilities are amazing. I would visit daily and can't fault the care my Aunt received. My Aunt has now recovered and has been able to return to independent
living and I can't thank Tina and her Team enough for everything they did to aid my Aunts recovery. If full time care was ever required again in the future this would be my first choice without a doubt. Amazing Team and Amazing care home.
Reply from Tina Bartin, Manager at Belle Vue Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review.
It means so much to our team to know you and your aunt had a positive experience during what must have been a difficult time for you and especially difficult for your aunt. We are pleased to know that you felt supported and welcomed throughout your visits, and that your aunt received the care and attention she needed.
Being part of your aunts recovery and supporting her return to independent living is heartwarming, and were honoured to have played a part in her being able to live in the community. Your appreciation will be shared with our team.
Thank you again for your trust and recommendation. We wish you and your aunt all the very best for the future.

I would like to thank all the caring staff for their attention to coping with the recent D@V outbreak. Very professional actions taken. My husband has been in Belle Vue for 16 months now and he is so well cared for. He is very happy there and I find the do a lot of activities to keep the residents occupied.
I could not wish for my husband to be anywhere but at Belle Vue thank you to everyone.

I cannot speak highly enough about this care home. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were welcomed with kindness, warmth, and genuine compassion. The staff go above and beyond every single day to ensure residents feel safe, comfortable, and truly cared for.
The level of professionalism
is outstanding, but what makes this place exceptional is the heart behind everything they do. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and every resident is treated with dignity, respect, and individuality. It brings such peace of mind knowing our loved one is in such capable and caring hands.
The home itself is always clean, bright, and beautifully maintained, creating a calm and uplifting atmosphere. There is a real sense of community, with engaging activities and thoughtful touches that make it feel like home rather than just a facility.
Thank you to the entire team for your dedication, patience, and unwavering support. You make a world of difference to families like ours.

Have had experience with many care homes in Torbay but Belle Vue is the most outstanding. My friend is well cared for and the management and staff are very professional. The Home is of a very high standard in cleanliness and this is consistent. I myself am always made to feel welcome every time I
visit and this is very much appreciated.

Generally satisfactory
Do not like the policy of switching on the T.V. at all times
Could promote discussion amongst residents especially when doing a quiz
Reply from Tina Bartin, Manager at Belle Vue Care HomeThank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We really appreciate your suggestion and agree that activities like quizzes are a great way to encourage conversation and connection with our residents. We'll certainly take this on board.

Dad is happy, settled and safe at Belle Vue. He enjoys singing and dancing and he is often the life and soul of such activities. I am now struggling to take Dad out of the care home because of his needs. However when the weather gets better Dad will thrive on getting out more as mentioned by one of
the carers who Dad gets on very well with, as he is from up north too!

I consider my friend to be well cared for and safe. At times she is at a loss to know what to do in a morning, but the afternoons always have a planned activity. Most of the staff are friendly and have the resident's needs at the forefront of their work. Of the care homes that I visit this is one of
the best.

Belle Vue has grown and developed for the better during the three years that my mother has been a resident there. Overall issues have been addressed and they are good at listening although between different staff tiers communication could be better. The activities team are creative with the small budget
they are given and I would like this to be recognised and to be increased to enable all residents the stimulation and participation that they deserve. A better retention of staff will improve consistency of care and the residents welfare and less money using agency staff could be inputted into the care. More recognition of staffs hard work and commitment would go a long way and will help with retention. The care and quality is good. Thank you.

My mother, who has severe dementia, has been at Belle Vue since March 2025. Unfortunately her previous residential home could no longer meet her needs so we were faced with the challenge of quickly finding somewhere more suitable. Tina and her colleagues were fantastic when we visited and we were reassured
my mother would be safe and be given the right care. We live some distance away, but have total confidence that she is in good hands. We cannot visit often so are completely reliant on the staff and management who inform us of any issues. We aren't there often enough to comment on the activities. All staff are friendly and approachable and the home is well maintained and clean. An excellent care home.
Reply from Tina Bartin, Manager at Belle Vue Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your kind words. We understand how difficult it can be when loved ones live at a distance, and were pleased that our teams communication helps you stay updated and confident in your mothers care. Your comments about the friendliness of our staff and the cleanliness of the home mean a great deal to us. We appreciate your trust and will continue to do our very best to provide the highest standard of care for your mother.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.782)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.782) out of 10 for Belle Vue Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.782 for Belle Vue Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (295 Excellents x 5) + (59 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 363 Ratings = 4.782
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Belle Vue Care Home is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
