All the staff have been kind and helpful through the pandemic keeping the residents happy. I can't wait to see my husband in the usual way I've not seen him inside since March and missed our Golden Wedding Anniversary. I know we had to do it but it was hard. It was so hard for all the staff they were so tired, they all have been brilliant.

My sister had a neurological disorder that affected her ability to walk and which became progressively worse. She was also diagnosed with Leukemia and Lymphoma and spent several weeks in hospital. After leaving hospital, she spent a short period in a care home before going to Belle Vue Care Home in Sept 2019. The nursing staff at Belle Vue were excellent. I was informed immediately if there was any change in my sister's condition and what action was being taken. The care staff were sympathetic to my sister's condition and made time to chat and respond to her needs. An activities coordinator helped her maintain her interest in crafts. Unfortunately, her health deteriorated. She also caught COVID 19 and went into hospital. She survived and returned to Belle Vue but died some weeks later.

Belle Vue is a lot better now than in previous years. Would be nice for residents on the dementia floor to be taken outside more. Personal care is good - baths could be more frequent. Food good.

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. I will share it with the Home Manager so she can address it. As you may know, we have now installed a fantastic spa bath and are having the gardens re-landscaped to make them accessible to all.

Beautiful care home with caring and compassionate carers. It's a home from home for mum and all the staff treat her with love and care even in difficult times. Food, activities and cleanliness are a very high standard and the bedrooms and ensuites like a hotel. Fantastic.

With Covid diagnosed for my mum, the care and support was outstanding (as always) not only for her but for me too. She has been there for almost 13 years and would not hesitate to recommend Belle Vue to anyone. I hope when my time comes to be looked after, I have a team like them.

I can not thank Belle Vue staff enough for the last few months during this pandemic, as not being able to visit, they have put in place video messaging enabling our family to keep in touch. I would definitely recommend Belle Vue for a relative with dementia, they are caring for mum superbly as I know she is not always easy.

I feel completely confident that my dad receives the best care here at Belle Vue. The staff treat him like their own family, while I am not able to visit, and he can't use modern tech, Belle Vue are entirely reachable by phone, email and facebook. I can see how he is, as can relatives internationally. Any concerns I have are answered promptly. I know the staff go above and beyond their duty of care. I am very happy that I have done the best I can for dad and I know he is happy, safe, well fed and cared for.

My mother was here for only two and a half week s during the outbreak of COVID-19, so we only saw her once in that time. The staff was exceptional, kind, and caring and very helpful in letting me know how Mum was. In her end of life and the last few days they kept us fully up to date with her care and treatment and when we visited, treated her with dignity and kindness. I couldn't have wanted any better treatment than she got here. The staff is wonderful and complete gems!

My mum uses this service which I found to be very good, the staff seem to be very person-centred and friendly, the activities they offer are fun and engaging while the care they receive is of top quality. The food on offer always looked appetising and I always feel welcome when I visit. During lockdown the staff worked with me to arrange a video call on mums birthday where I enjoyed watching her open her presents, the organised a cake which is a nice touch. Overall the home seems well led with a friendly team of managers and I'm happy that my mum is there.

Mum has been at Belle Vue since November 2018, she loves it. The staff are great. Mum takes part in activities, the food is wonderful and the decor of the home is lovely. It is way better than the home Mum was in before. I would recommend Belle Vue, I am very happy Mum is cared for very well. There is a very good atmosphere. All the best.

Staff have taken time to arrange a video call during what must be a very difficult and stressful time for them. For my mother to be able to see me even in the virtual world was fantastic, and to be able to see the reaction on her face when she saw me is priceless to me. Thank you to all the nursing team and helpers who continue to provide support to all the residents whose needs must vary immensely.

Many thanks for your review - it is indeed a busy time for all. I can just picture your mother's face when she saw you. I forgot that the medium we are now all using to stay in touch is not something many of their generation will have experienced before. How lovely.

The care given by everyone in my experience has been excellent, staff are patient, loving and extremely supportive of my family, as well as mum, who has been a resident there for several years now. During this time, especially it is a huge comfort to know she’s in the best hands. Thank you, everyone, from the bottom of our hearts.

Since my mum was moved to Belle Vue her health, happiness and well being has improved tenfold. My sisters and I cannot believe how happy she is now!
Every time we visit, the home is always clean, and there seems to be a good staff to resident ratio.
During this current climate, staff have been amazingly helpful when we call to speak to mum. Staff are also ensuring residents are kept occupied, and nothing seems to be too much trouble.

My sisters and I cannot thank you all enough for keeping our mum safe and well.

My Mum has been living at Belle Vue for 2 years. I can honestly say that each member of staff, past and present have been caring and kind to mum and myself. During this time there have been some difficult times but I have always felt supported. I am always made to feel welcome and feel I am greeted as a friend when I visit Mum (but not at the moment!) The home is always clean, with good food. They work hard to create a home from home atmosphere with plenty of interesting activities they also have one to one sessions which Mum does enjoy. And at the moment it is nice to be able to video call Mum. The management team past and present are very open, supportive and kind. Thank you all so much for all you do especially in these really difficult times.

Very clean areas, proficient, competent and when challenged due to resources, extremely professional staff. Actions not only given to the patient but family too. Never-ending maintenance to all areas maintained every day for a safe environment, enabling my confidence with this home. Out of work hours staff have made an effort and time to ask about the family, in my personal enhances the standards.

Belle Vue is a welcoming care home when you arrive. Some staff, (carers), are more approachable than others on dementia care ward, which can make you feel uncomfortable when you need to ask for assistance for your loved one. The whole process of a close relative entering the care system is very distressing for the family, so when people are understanding it makes you feel better.

Reply from Honor Keatley, Managing Director at Belle Vue Care Home

Many thanks for your review. I'm sure it would be helpful to meet with the home manager to talk through any concerns you have. Supporting a friend or relative to move into care can be very distressing. It's good to read that you feel Belle Vue to be a welcoming care home when you arrive.

My brother moved into Belle Vue nursing home early in February and although he only spent a short while there, I felt he was very well cared for. All the staff were kind and caring and tried to make his final days as comfortable and pain-free as possible. I would highly recommend this nursing home.
