My brother moved into Belle Vue nursing home early in February and although he only spent a short while there, I felt he was very well cared for. All the staff were kind and caring and tried to make his final days as comfortable and pain-free as possible. I would highly recommend this nursing home.

Our brother/uncle stayed at Belle Vue Care Home for his last days. The care the staff showed for him and us was kind and understanding. We really appreciated all that they did for him and made his last days comfortable, and for that we thank them.

When I first started visiting my friend, I was not very impressed with the care in the home at all. But things have improved so much and I think she is very happy and well cared for now. Everyone is so friendly and the home is so much better for everyone.

My wife has been a resident at Belle Vue Care Home for six years now and I have been very pleased with the improvements since the home was taken over by Harbour Healthcare. The atmosphere has proved to be very helpful and caring. The staff are, in general, cheerful and helpful and requests for assistance
are dealt with promptly.

Having had doubts about Belle Vue after it's recent history with CQC, I can now say 12 months after my brother took up residence that I am absolutely convinced he is in the right place. The quality of the care - infinitely more important than decorations etc, it's superb. What Harbour Healthcare have
done to this place is a great credit to them.

My husband moved into Belle Vue in October 2019 and we were immediately welcomed and made to feel at home. Due to his dementia, he now has trouble expressing himself and making decisions so it has been a challenge for the staff to get to know his ways. However they have all been wonderful, so patient,
understanding and caring, so he is quite well settled now. Whenever I visit I am asked after my own welfare. If I have any concerns they are dealt with promptly. I am a little disappointed that there doesn’t seem to be more activities organised but as my husband cannot remember what he has been doing each day there may be more going on than I hear about.
I definitely know that I have made the right decision in entrusting my dear husband into Belle Vue’s care and would recommend them to anyone.

My stepmother was moved to Belle Vue after her previous care establishment had to close. Her dementia had gotten worse and it was recommended that she should have nursing care. Belle Vue was suggested as a possibility. After I visited Belle Vue, met the management and had the grand tour, I was in no
doubt that this was the right place for my stepmother to be cared for. It's normally so hard when trying to make decisions for someone that is unable to make decisions for themselves, but this was easy. The care she received was outstanding. The staff and management always behaved in a caring professional and happy manner. Belle Vue was always kept so clean and tidy with no nasty odours. Sadly she passed away on November 5th, but I am happy that she spent her final days in such a loving, caring environment. Thank you for caring for my stepmother.

Where to start? Having suffered a devastating stroke that left my mum fully mobile but cognitively severely impaired, she needed care similar to that required by someone with dementia and came to the Belle Vue Dementia Unit for end-of-life support. As an only child and with no other relatives, having
experienced sub-par care elsewhere and with time of the essence, I was acutely aware that Belle Vue had to work. I cannot overstate how well the home looked after both of us during this time. The setup of the home is excellent, lending itself to openness and inclusion of all residents. Everything is spotless and any spillages etc. taken care of immediately. There is not enough space to express how grateful I am to the staff for their care and dignity for all the residents. I spent the last 4 days of my mum’s life practically living at Belle Vue and saw first hand how much care everyone has for residents and families alike. I wouldn’t hesitate to bring a loved one here.

My Mother spent the last 6 months of her life in Belle Vue, and as a family, we could not have wished for a better establishment for her, the way she was cared for and treated was first class. The staff were so committed and caring and we were comforted that Mum was treated with dignity, respect and
with a great deal of understanding. We as the family were always kept well informed and our concerns dealt with promptly. The home is making improvements to facilities which are further enhancing the environment. In short, we would highly recommend Belle Vue to anyone considering it.

All colleagues who work here are amazing. The passion they all have for the work they carry out, shines through. My Dad, due to his illness, was rather "challenging" at times. However, this didn't affect the way he was treated. They continued with the incredible care that they had always given him.
Not only do they care for the residents but also for the family and friends that visit. It felt like one big happy family. I personally can't recommend this home highly enough.

My Mum moved here when she needed Nursing care for the last few weeks of her life. The new Manager and her staff were very professional and caring in looking after Mum in the last couple of weeks of her life. The standard of cleanliness generally and in her room was very good and the bedding was changed
regularly. Belle Vue is a very pleasant Nursing Home where the residents are comfortable, at ease, well-looked after, well-fed and above all, feel safe and respected. More could be done to provide Coffee/Tea making facilities for friends and family, maybe a machine rather than the kettle in the dining room when there are rarely any clean cups or spoons. The Home and floors are controlled by keypad access. My only issue was trying to remember all the numbers so maybe they could be rationalised - suggest one number for all inner doors and one for lift plus one for the outer door. That way only 3 codes to remember!
Would recommend this home to others.

Light and airy. Patio garden. reception area for socialising.
Good cooking and choice. Maybe need more staff and time for feeding. The staff are very careful of respect and dignity. Great that many more activities are planned.
Concerning safety. This has improved tremendously. Obviously, it is not
possible to prevent residents from wandering about if they are unstable on their feet but staff often rush up with walking frames or to escort them. The outside doors and lifts have security code systems. Certain rooms are fitted with motion sensors. On the whole Belle Vue is a very pleasant place which the residents do regard as "home" after a period of adjustment where they are comfortable, at ease, well-looked after, well-fed and, above all, feel safe and respected. Much progress has been achieved towards making Belle Vue one of the better nursing homes in Torbay, largely thanks to the policies implemented by the new owners, Harbour Healthcare, and, especially, its new manager.

We were invited to a Valentine's lunch with our relative who is a resident. It was first class. The food lamb and potatoes and very plus chocolate and cream were lovely. The staff were super.

I always enjoyed coming in to see my husband on a daily basis. I was always made welcome by the staff and nurses always updated on any events within the home. My husband remained safe and comfortable to the end of his life.

My Mum came to Belle Vue after discharge from hospital. When she arrived she was frail and exhausted. One month on Mum is more independent, back to good health and happy and comfortable. The staff are so kind, friendly and caring - cannot fault them. The home has an open, homely and welcome atmosphere.
I feel part of the home as a relative.

We are always impressed with the standard of care/facilities/food in this home. Recently we have seen numerous very favourable improvements to the latter, however, this month our visit was enhanced by the invitation to share in a special Valentine's roast lamb lunch, cooked to absolute perfection by
the exceptional chef. The food was superbly created and wonderfully delicious! Thank you!

Very good except from 5:45 to 9:30 the next morning except for a hot drink.
Food not very hot.
The nurses and staff are excellent no complaints. Thanks for all the help and consideration.

    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. A little about me; I’m Paula, a Registered Nurse, and Home Manager of Belle Vue Care Home. I was born in Romania and moved to the Southwest Coast of the UK in 2014. I began working for Harbour Healthcare in 2018 and can honestly say, I have never looked back. I work alongside a great team handpicked for their kind and caring natures. Each team member shows dedication, skill, and knowledge to care for our residents. We all receive thorough and ongoing training to provide an excellent standard of care, which makes me proud to be part of the Belle Vue Care Home Team.


I bring my ‘teacup chihuahua’ to work each day, she’s the best companion. She loves snuggles and cuddles and will happily spend all day curled up on an inviting lap! Her name is Ruby.


You will often see me with my sleeves rolled up attending to our residents. Caring and Nursing for people is my passion and spending time with the residents is something I take pride in every day.
