My stay was very comfortable. Lovely, friendly people. Always someone to help you. Food excellent.
The care team went to our aunts home as a response to our call following no reply to our repeated phone calls. They discovered her collapsed in the premises. They called paramedics and assisted with her removal to hospital and then cleaned up the house. A wonderful response and extremely efficient as we were unable to get there ourselves. Thank you!
I have been very pleased with the care given to my father during his time at Brookview (nearly 2 1/2 years to date). Any problems that have arisen have been dealt with promptly. It is appreciated that a high percentage of staff have remained constant and have therefore got to know my father and him them. I do think that the home has suffered a little because of the frequent change of home manager over the years he has been resident. Although things continued to run well the changes in key staff have left him at times feeling unsettled.
“Thank you for your various comments about our care standards and the multiple excellent ratings you have given. Thank you also for your honesty about the change of Home Manager. We do appreciate how any change in the Home Manager can initially be unsettling. Please be reassured that Maggie, our...
I originally experienced Brookview in 2006 when my mother entered the home at the age of 97. She was relatively fit at this time but became increasingly fragile as she approached her 100th birthday. She died in 2009 two months short of 101. She was very happy at Brookview and always treated with respect and kindness. Over the 3 years I visited I came to know the home and staff very well. I joined them as a volunteer in August 2010. I accompany the residents on trips out.
I know a number of residents who are very contented and grateful for the care, stimulus, concern etc they receive. My neighbour who finds physical frailty and ageing very distressing has been very well and sympathetically cared for. One carer in particular is immensely helpful and reassuring. The food is wonderful too!
2 Comments: 1) A very lightweight alarm on neck or wrist band would have brought more immediate help regarding a fall on the first floor.2) I heard before Christmas that several staff were leaving. I hope it isn't reflected in the care residents receive.
Thank you for your comments about the care at Brook View. Regarding the question of help after a fall, please be aware there are people around at all times who can assist. If someone has a fall while they are on their own at any time, we’ll always do our best to respond straight away to a cry for...
My friends all say how much better and younger I look after a year here. The food is repetitive and can be very salty although we have salt on our trays.
We’re delighted that your friends say how much better and younger you look since coming to Brook View. We do put a great deal of effort into ensuring our food is of the highest standards. Our Catering Manager will speak to you directly to make sure you have the menu variety you seek and that the salt content is in keeping with your wishes. Thank you again.
Staff always welcoming. Residents always acknowledged and treated with respect and helped with whatever the request. Home is always clean and presentable at all times throughout and the laundry service is fantastic. Meals are varied with the option to eat with your relative and this makes for a nice experience for the resident. Drinks are on offer regularly with cake/biscuit also. Every department throughout this home should be proud of the service they are providing. One suggestion - drinks, biscuits, cake maybe at this time a healthy option could be added such as a piece of fresh fruit - as a family this has been a brilliant choice.
Thank you for highlighting the point about fresh fruit. In fact, it is our policy to provide fruit with morning and afternoon teas and coffees. It seems that sometimes when this is served in residents’ rooms, they may not be offered the fruit option verbally. We will make sure this happens in the future. Thanks again.
My enforced living here, I find very comfortable the staff are so caring and exceptional. The food is disappointing on occasions, which is my one complaint only.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on our staff and we’re sorry you have occasional disappointment about the food. In our last Brook View residents’ survey 57% rated the food as excellent and 26% as good. Our Catering Manager will speak to you directly to understand more about what you want and aim to make you happier with the daily menu choices. Thank you again.
I have been here as a resident in respite care for about 6 weeks and am happily settled, being well looked after in all ways. I have a nice room kept very clean. Staff come regularly with medicine. Food is good, visitors are welcomed.
Mum is very well cared for. She enjoys the activities and the trips out. Its lovely and reassuring to know that when I leave after visiting mum that she is safe and looked after. Thank you to all the staff at Brook View.
Since my wife took up residence in December 2014 I have been very pleased with the care and attention she has received. Considering her past medical history she has been quite well during the last 12 months. No TIA'S or hospital visits, first time for several years.
