I went into Brook View feeling very apprehensive about being left with strangers but got used to it after a day or so. I did not need much individual care as I was able to wash and dress but when I was in tears one night, the nurse on duty was very good and kind.

On arrival, friendly staff. Very clean and no unpleasant odours. Large choice of menu and refreshments. Excellent care and encourage independence of my client. I look after a resident who has been staying at Brookview on a respite period, which may be leading to full-time basis. I couldn't wish for a better home than Brook View for him.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to the staff at Brook View who "pulled out all the stops" to give that little bit of extra care over and above expectations for my mother. It is the small things that matter when a new resident is settling into a new environment and maybe feeling confused and unsure of themselves. Thank you again to all the staff at Brook View.

I came to Brook View for 28 days respite care following a mastectomy operation at Salisbury District Hospital. I am very pleased to say what wonderful care I received from all the staff, they all made me feel I was the only one they were looking after. I am sorry to be leaving so many kind friends and hope to come here again one day.

I send a big thank you to everybody.

Just visited my mother in law this weekend and I wanted to give a big thank you to all your dedicated staff for the marvellous job they do in caring for all your residents meeting all their needs and more. The home is beautifully kept and we, as visitors, are always greeted with a great hello and a lovely smile. We could not ask for any more, but we do get more, coffee/tea and amazing cakes in the coffee lounge. Thank you once again for all you do.

My mother became a resident in November 2016, starting off as respite. As she can longer care for herself she became a permanent resident in January this year. We can not fault any of the facilities or the staff at Brookveiw, it's like a 5-star hotel. There is so much to entertain all the residents, from daily activities to minibus rides to the New Forest and the sea. When we visit we are always able to have coffee or tea and they always have a wonderful selection of homemade cakes or biscuits. The daily restaurant menu is varied, so there is something for everybody's tastes.

My very close friend was a resident until his death in January. Last year I found it necessary to raise a complaint about the service. Even though I was old a friend, Colton Care listened to what I had to say and over the next few months took substantial action to make fundamental changes. In due course, the improvement was so marked that the atmosphere changed, the staff were obviously much happier also and it became a very loving environment. I was most impressed by the responsiveness.

My mother moved into Brook View in October 2015 following a fall. She is now unable to walk or stand. The level of care provided is very good and the care is always pleasant, caring and considerate. As her needs increase, I have every confidence that Brook View will provide the care she requires.

Friendly competent staff, warm attractive home and rooms. Good varied menu, pleasant dining room and staff give residents individual attention. The grounds are well maintained, with sunny seating areas. Free coffee for residents and guests, plus biscuits and cake.

There is a happy atmosphere and everyone seems happy and content. The whole property smells clean and fresh.

Following a change of management we did have a few issues over the care of my stepmother. However since the new manager and head of care have been in place we have seen a marked improvement in the overall standards of care and happiness within Brook View. We are confident that this will continue and that Brook View will continue to be an excellent care home.

My late husband was a resident in 'Brook View' for nearly 6 years and I always said I could not have wished for any better home for him to spend his final years of his life. I always found the staff to be friendly, caring and supportive both to my husband and also myself. I still visit the home every week and enjoy the lovely lunch with some of the residents I have made friends with.

After the initial settling in process, my friend has now adjusted to living in Brook View care home. She has had a little illness and was depressed and during that time the staff / nurses were wonderful. If I had any concerns, they were fully addressed.
I am unable to say enough as to how she has been cared for and now, is very settled very happy and looks so clean/presentable and a joy to visit.

My thanks and gratitude to Brook View and all its staff.

Brook View is an excellent nursing home. The staff are dedicated and hard-working. The home is always beautifully clean, well-maintained and welcoming. My mum does sometimes wish for different food. She likes simple food (softer and more variety of vegetable). She enjoys many of the activities, especially the services and carpet bowls. She loves the grounds. We always feel welcomed and loved when we visit mum. Thank you to all the staff for their love, care and for creating a lovely family atmosphere. Well done Brook View.

Review from S S (Sister of Resident) published on 22 November 2016 Submitted via Review Postal Card
Overall Experience
My sister became a resident of Brooks View of April 2016. I have had the occasional lunch with her that has been most enjoyable. Today, I had arranged with my sister to come for lunch with my husband and we had the most delicious lunch of roast chicken, followed by a superb dessert. I made a point of thanking the chef on duty today.
I do feel the meals are very important in any care home and I believe I would be hard-pushed to find better in any care home.
I would also like to add that it was very good to see the lady back in the office and generally being around, as she was when my sister was deciding if she wished to become a resident of Brooks View.

I understand that she has mainly been at another home recently and I would say she has been sorely missed at Brooks View.
