My stay at Magna Care Centre was most enjoyable, restful and relaxing. No carers in the world.
Our neighbour was placed in Magna Care Home to be with his wife. He had been her carer, which had made him unwell. While there the compassionate care he had revitalised him. His wife passed away after 6 months, but with the good food, attention and activities, the remaining 18 months of his life were happy and contented. His final comments were 'I don't want to go to hospital, I'll die here'. He passed away at 96 years fully cared for.
My mother was taken to Magna Care Centre in a private ambulance all the way from Kent. They settled her in at 7pm in the evening after 3 very stressful weeks in hospital. All the staff worked together as a team and supported each other as well as the residents and their visitors. My mum was made very comfortable. She was very very ill and the carers and staff helped her to be comfortable and relaxed as far as possible and prepared me for her death which came after 7 short days. Without their understanding and information she would not have seen her grandchildren in those last days and that was worth a huge amount to our family. The home has a real buzz to it and I would recommend it to anyone.
Excellent service and friendly staff. Very nice large room and good food.
Everyone was helpful and friendly, mum settled straight in and thoroughly enjoyed her stay. There were lots of activites she could join in with. The home is set in beautiful surrounding and the grounds are well cared for. There is a lovely bright dining room with plenty of options for meals. She had a lovely stay.
It's excellent can't wait to go back.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for choosing to award Magna five-stars.
Mum was adamant she did not want to go into respite care for a week while my sister and I took a break from caring for her. Magna Care Home has changed her prospective, and she would be happy to return. In fact, she came out on a high! From the moment she arrived until the moment she left, she had been cared for, encouraged to mix and join in activities. My sister and I were relieved when we went away knowing mum would receive regular meals, her medication, and she would be living in clean, lovely surroundings. I can't praise the home and staff enough.
When me and Karen arrived we was met my wonderful staff that made us feel very welcome and relaxed. I felt so happy that Karen was being looked after by such nice people, and confident that she will be looked after. Thankyou all very much.
Thank you for your kind words. We're so pleased that you and Karen felt welcomed and reassured by our team from the moment you arrived. Your feedback means a great deal to us all.
My friend became a resident two years ago. His stay was made welcome by all the staff, no matter what role they did. His stay at Magna care home was a very happy one. The staff made him feel comfortable and happy. He couldn't want for a better place to stay during his end-of-life care. I'm totally grateful for the care and attention my friend wishes
Everytime I have visited my brother I have always come away with the feeling that there could not be a better caer home to be in. Entering the home I always receive a warm welcome and am immediately impressed with the way the staff are connecting with the residents bth on a one to one basis and group activities. My brother is always full of praise for the staff and appreciative to the care he receives. All of the family could not ask for more. Thank you.
The staff are lovely very friendly caring and helpful. However there are things that could be improved sometimes in the lounge in the mornings there isn't much going on. One resident actually said to me "I'd just as well go back to my room, there's nothing much going on here". Also the dining room is used to mainly be tables for 4 now its mainly tables of 2, why? How are residents going to get to know each other better if there only 2 on a table. The guttering needs cleaning out, its building in places.
We are very pleased to hear that you find the staff to be lovely, caring, friendly and helpful. They hold themselves to a very high standard, and your words will be greatly appreciated by them...
My husband and I found Magna Care Home five years ago for our friend. He was disabled and wheelchair bound, and it was our last choice in the area that would be suitable for us to visit without travelling too far. He had been turned down by other homes and we thought it would be the same response from Magna. It was the very best we could have hoped for and he was welcoming with open arms by the staff. He was respected at all times, and I could not be happier to say the best decision we have made on his behalf.
Thank you to everyone from the chefs for good healthy tasty food. Cleaners for keeping the rooms and communal areas spic and span and all the nurses and carers.
my mother in law has been in the care home since last September . I cannot fault the staff . they are kind and considerate and obviously like their job . they are pro active in their duties and care and this is not just the medical staff but the office staff, cleaners.kitchen staff and housekeeping too...nothing seems to be any trouble and they are welcoming and friendly to us visitors too
I don't even know where to start, but from the moment we stepped into the magna for a look around, it felt like home. It was warm and cosy and had a real family feel to it. All the staff were happy and smiley and would say hello. We knew instantly this was the right place for my nanny to come after viewing multiple other homes. The rooms were spacious, clean and tidy and decorated perfectly. There is a lovely lounge area to sit in and they were so welcoming to family and friends that visited. We were able to stay for meals and the staff were so inclusive with family. Although nanny wasn't there long, she was extremely well cared for and looked after. The staff at magna all hold a special place in our hearts for the love and care they not only showed nanny, but all the family as well. I highly recommend the Magna to anyone looking for somewhere to send a loved one.
Magna Care Centre provides excellent and supportive care to its residents. My mother has been a resident there for over two years and I could not wish for a better care environment for her. They offer varied activities for their residents. The whole environment is caring and supportive. An exceptional care home.
Magna Care centre deserves more than 5 stars! Towards the end of a year of caring for our Dad through the final stages of terminal cancer, coping with all the treatments, the hospital and Hospice visits and stays, culminating in having carers to his home three times a day, Dad had endured enough and we were thankfully guided by the Palliative Care Team to find his final home in every sense of the word. Magna Care Centre is nestled in beautiful grounds at Canford Magna and is a true breath of fresh air! What an oasis of calm, tranquility and perfection it is! Immediately upon speaking with the lovely Stella on the phone, to entering the welcoming doors of the Spanish Hacienda style entrance, my brother and I knew we had "found the one". We cannot commend the home more highly to anyone who needs help facing the difficult decision of placing the care and responsibility of their nearest and dearest at a time when you are overwhelmed and sad to your core. Stella gave us a tour of the bright,
Our visits are always welcomed with a smile, they treat residents with respect and acknowledge their needs too, which is so important. Thank you for all your hard work.
It was a very simple selection process for our family as Dad was also at Magna Care before passing away in May 2025.
With Mum's care as it was with Dad's care was provided to the highest levels not only with all care needs met but, with compassion and understanding towards individual needs.
The entire Team at Magna deliver above and beyond expectations.
Not only is the location of Magna Care outstanding the facilites are quite exceptional, providing a calm relaxing safe freindly and happy environment.
As a family we could not speak more highly of Magna Care's excellence and the peace of mind provided knowing Mum was recieving exceptional support each and everyday.
Thank you to all at Magna Care.
I feel confident leaving my mother-in-law in the care if these people.

Meet the Team (1)

With over 16 years at Magna, I lead a dedicated and compassionate team committed to delivering exceptional residential and nursing care. My background in intensive, elderly, and stroke care shapes the person?centred, dignified approach I bring to every aspect of our home.
Having progressed from Registered Nurse to Deputy Manager and now Home Manager, I have a deep understanding of our residents, their families, and the local community. I’m passionate about creating a warm, respectful environment where meaningful social connection enriches daily life. Making even one person’s day better is what motivates me.
Magna is a relaxed, home?from?home setting, and the welcoming atmosphere is a true reflection of the incredible team I’m proud to lead. Their kindness, commitment, and willingness to go the extra mile are at the heart of everything we do.
When I’m not wearing my manager’s hat, I’m a busy mum of three and can often be found out walking our little dog, Bob.
