He has settled and found a new home at The Magna.
All the staff are friendly approachable and show dedication to their care.
There is a great sense of home and community here. The range of activities and outings are great. The Magna staff team are fantastic.
It is never an easy time to consider a mum needs extra care and safety, so many considerations to choose a residential care home. The Magna has proved to be the best choice for a home from home open warm and comfortable environment for mum. Whether for support, care, dignity, fantastic caring team or the freedom of family to visit anytime. It's a pleasure to recommend The Magna Care Centre for care, food and for life's support.
Looks are deceiving at this place, my Mother was here for respite, the care she received was appalling, she was left in soiled clothes and several times left soaking in urine, medication given at wrong times and some were not given, she didn't eat as the food was awful. We ended up taking her out as quickly as we could.
We are sorry that this reviewer was not happy with the care their relative received a year ago in September 2017. The comfort and care of all our residents is always our top priority. My door is always open to discuss any problems or issues you may have and we would urge people to come and talk to us at the time of any problems so that they can be investigated and resolved.
I cannot over-praise this establishment.
Every aspect of the building, food, grounds and particularly the staff were excellent.
You would be hard-pressed to find anywhere better.
The staff became friends to us and Mum.
We miss my Mum but we also miss the staff.
The care and attention my Wife receives from all areas is excellent.
My Brother has received much care and attention from the staff who are very caring and attentive. The home is always pleasant to visit and the manager always available to discuss my Brother and his care.
The nursing and care staff has reached a standard beyond expectation. The staff the cares for my mother are dedicated devoted to the long-term welfare of my mother. The staff appear to be cherry picked from the numerous applications. I would recommend this establishment to all and everyone in need of being looked after.
Since mum was admitted in March, she has been extremely well cared for. The staff are very kind and professional. The staff have not only been good with mum but also a huge support for me at this very upsetting time.
The home is in superb grounds and a lovely outlook for mum who is bed-bound. It is very clean, rooms well decorated, a home from home.
It is the best decision my brother and I made choosing this home and would recommend to others.
The staff are so patient and caring and so good to everyone they meet.
I couldn't hope for more for my lovely husband, to end his days here.
The room was clean and bright.
The staff friendly and helpful.
Dad was well cared for in his final days.
What a truly lovely place. My mum's last days were spent here. She thought she was at home. The staff without exception were outstanding. The manager runs a loving caring environment - it's spotless. The food is great as well.
Professional caring staff throughout her stay. Thank you very much.
After moving my Mother away from another care home how I wish we had found Magna so much sooner. I cannot fault the place. The staff are happy and committed. They work as a team from nurses to housekeeping, from the kitchen to carers they are all dedicated to the residents and go out of their way, on all fronts, to make sure everyone is happy and cared for. The rooms are light and airy with beautiful views. The whole place is spotless. The food is varied and delicious but they are very willing to cater for little whims and fancies. There is a coffee bar for visitors which includes lovely cake! There is a variety of activities which vary from week to week so no boredom here. The residents have regular meetings and are involved in choices & decisions. There are also regular meetings held for families. It is in a quiet rural setting with extensive, accessible grounds. So pleased at the fuss and care they give Mother and the wonderful support they give to me. Definitely a home from home.
Very lovely home, staff friendly and approachable. Mum has settled in very well.
I have always been impressed by the level of care and attentive staff during my visits to see my mother-in-law.
A very lovely home with wonderful staff. An excellent care centre.
No problems.Cannot fault the home or the staff.
The nurses and carers are always around and help me all the time.
Welcoming staff. Activities are well organised for residents. Continuation of nursing staff assures continuity of care. Staff get to know residents and residents get to know staff.

Meet the Team (1)

With over 16 years at Magna, I lead a dedicated and compassionate team committed to delivering exceptional residential and nursing care. My background in intensive, elderly, and stroke care shapes the person?centred, dignified approach I bring to every aspect of our home.
Having progressed from Registered Nurse to Deputy Manager and now Home Manager, I have a deep understanding of our residents, their families, and the local community. I’m passionate about creating a warm, respectful environment where meaningful social connection enriches daily life. Making even one person’s day better is what motivates me.
Magna is a relaxed, home?from?home setting, and the welcoming atmosphere is a true reflection of the incredible team I’m proud to lead. Their kindness, commitment, and willingness to go the extra mile are at the heart of everything we do.
When I’m not wearing my manager’s hat, I’m a busy mum of three and can often be found out walking our little dog, Bob.
