My uncle had long periods of hospitalisations for months before he was eventually transferred to this home. Every hospital discharge meant further loneliness and fear as he lived alone and under Covid restrictions, the distress he suffered was exacerbated. Sadly he only knew a few weeks before he died that he could stay at Magna. I heard the relief in his voice and in every phone conversation he told me how kind everyone was to him and how well he was being looked after. I cannot comment on the internal décor, rooms, food and drink or cleanliness of the home as with the government restrictions I could not enter the building. However, those things were not as important to me or my beloved uncle - it was the gentle kind words, the sense of belonging they gave him in just a few precious weeks, keeping him clean with the personal nursing at night as well as in the day, the respectful understanding of his nature and all the guidance given in person, by phone or email. Thank you all so much.

After hospitalisation, I was taken to Magna Care Centre for a 16-week stay. My room was well appointed with a pressure bed, ensuite facilities, TV and electric recliner chair. The day and night nursing care is exceptional and help is available 24-hours. Rooms cleaned daily and laundry done. The caring staff are wonderful. Activities, games and quizzes provide stimulation and the food is superb. This care home offers unmatched caring and nursing. I was never lonely.

My father entered the home in August 2020 but owing to Covid he had to isolate for two weeks but I was able to talk to him on the phone. Since then I have been able to visit him with distancing and PPE. I have been impressed with the staff that I have met on these occasions and the rapport they have with my father. I have been kept fully informed on the phone of any changes and found everyone very helpful, especially with the current difficulties of Covid to contend with. This means, however, that I haven’t been able to look round the home.

I had loads of illness in the past, and being at Magna makes me feel so much happier.

I have never been so happy in all my life being at the Magna Care Centre, I've been here 6 months, I am very happy and also happy that my children don't need to worry much with me, they are aware that I am happy and safe here, well looked after by all the staff. I wish to stay here to the end of my life.

Terrible care home. My father spent the last 2 weeks of his life here. On his first night, he was placed on the incorrect mattress, when he mentioned to staff how uncomfortable it was they replied: "You will have to get used to it". I went in the next morning and could see large bumps in the mattress! The manager verified that it was not an appropriate mattress. My father reported that he was left hungry (even though he had a very small appetite).

The staff decided not to put the guard up on the side of the bed and my father rolled out of the bed. He was heavily sedated and by the end unable to control his muscles so how the staff did not feel the guards were necessary is beyond me. The main reason we put dad into a care home was for pain management. Whenever I visited my dad requested more pain relief which I asked the staff for and they administered. I feel they should have been giving him this relief (or at least ask him if he wanted any relief) without me needing to ask for it.

The whole team at Magna Care have been genuinely amazing. The care my mum has received this year has completely transformed her quality of life and I cannot thank the nurses and carers enough. The way the whole team at Magna Care dealt so robustly with the Covid threat was also impressive. So sorry I couldn't hug any of the staff at my last visit. They all deserve medals. Thank you!

Early May 2020, my father’s wife passed away, she had been in residence at the Magna Care Centre for a number of weeks. Whilst there, I was unable to visit due to the COVID 19 situation and so I cannot comment on the daily care she was given. However, after she had passed away, we (myself and my father) were allowed to come to the centre to pick up a few personal effects. When we arrived and were making our way to the side entrance (as instructed) I noticed a ‘black bin bag’ on a table outside near the entrance. As we approached the entrance, the door opened and a member of staff (who seemed in a hurry to get something from a car) appeared and told us that the items we had come for were in fact in the bin bag. In the most insincere way I have ever seen or heard, she told us how sorry she was for the passing of my father's wife, and then she disappeared back into the centre, leaving my dad feeling extremely distraught. The lack of sensitivity and respect was unforgivable.

The setting and the actual home and facilities are fantastic. The staff are friendly, helpful and really want to make things comfortable for my mum. There is a warm feeling on entry and this continues through the whole of the time and it has a relaxing feel. I look forward to coming to see Mum and the facilities are beautiful. I am so pleased my mother is here - it is all so clean and fresh with spacious rooms.

My wife was a nursing resident in the Segovia wing of the Magna Centre for three months from the end on June 2019 where she died on 5th October 2019. She was cared for very professionally and with great compassion and dignity and throughout her wishes were paramount in her care. I would like to thank all who cared for her and to commend the professionalism of the Magna Care Centre for the care that she received whilst resident. As visitors we were always made very welcome and greeted with warmth and kept informed throughout of her condition.

It is heartbreaking to see your relative deteriorate with dementia but the Magna is a small oasis of peace and safety. After visits I know I leave my dear Mum in kind, caring and capable hands. The staff are simply lovely here - all of them.

My father has been in the care home for a few months. The care that he is given is outstanding. They are a team that work very closely together and you can see the dedication of every one of them. They also make the family welcome and keep us updated with relevant information on a daily basis. I couldn't ask any more from the home. The care assistants and the nurses are a credit to the home. I am more than happy with the accommodation. Dad's room is always clean and tidy. I can't thank them enough.

My uncle was in your home for a short term of respite. He seemed very happy to be there although he said, "there is no place like home". However, he told me that he had been in several homes for respite care and this one was the best. Thank you.

With over 16 years at Magna, I lead a dedicated and compassionate team committed to delivering exceptional residential and nursing care. My background in intensive, elderly, and stroke care shapes the person?centred, dignified approach I bring to every aspect of our home.

Having progressed from Registered Nurse to Deputy Manager and now Home Manager, I have a deep understanding of our residents, their families, and the local community. I’m passionate about creating a warm, respectful environment where meaningful social connection enriches daily life. Making even one person’s day better is what motivates me.

Magna is a relaxed, home?from?home setting, and the welcoming atmosphere is a true reflection of the incredible team I’m proud to lead. Their kindness, commitment, and willingness to go the extra mile are at the heart of everything we do.

When I’m not wearing my manager’s hat, I’m a busy mum of three and can often be found out walking our little dog, Bob.
