Father-in-law came here to convalesce after a fall. Barchester Moreton Hill Care Centre has been superb from beginning to end - excellent carers who respond quickly to the buzzer, beautiful surroundings and delicious food with a wide range to cater for every taste. We are extremely grateful.

The 'open door' policy meant we could visit any time and we always felt welcome.

A wonderfully situated care centre with really caring, cheerful, friendly staff. U am unable to fault any of the excellent care and support I received. The catering was outstanding. Barchester Moreton Hill Care Centre must be at the forefront of care homes as I doubt could reach the high standards here. An efficiently run centre with outstanding staff who were a tonic in themselves. I consider myself to have been treated and looked after here.

Moreton Hill is a very welcoming and happy care home. It is set in a lovely location with stunning views all around. All the staff have a smile and take time to interact with the residents and their families alike and nothing seems to be too much trouble. The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable as are the communal spaces. Mum really liked the varied activities which included trips out and always looked forward to the three-course lunch in the dining room. Sadly, Mum was only at Moreton Hill for 6 months, but those 6 months were full of kindness, love and laughter.

Reply from Roxana Davis, SGM at Barchester Moreton Hill Care Centre

The team and I are deeply missing Mum - one of our resident ambassadors. We are very grateful for all your support and kind words.

Dad came to Moreton Hill for a few weeks respite and, despite my worries, settled in immediately. We left him smiling, laughing and eating cake! Sadly, we didn't realise his Alzheimer's had made another progression and he deteriorated quickly. The staff were amazing looking after Dad in his final days. They showed kindness, compassion and understanding not only to him but myself. I was able to stay with Dad for the last five days of his life and the support I received was exceptional. The home has such a family feel. All staff treat the residents with respect and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I cannot praise Barchester Moreton Hill Care Centre highly enough. My father is a resident and although initially reluctant to go into a home, he very quickly realised what a special place it is. The manager and all the staff work really hard to make the place as welcoming and comfortable as possible. The range of activities on offer is second to none. Every time he has had a fall or a health scare, I have been kept informed every step of the way. It is a huge weight off my mind knowing he is well fed, well cared for and kept as physically and mentally active as possible. A huge thanks to all the staff for their care and attention. This really is the best care home around.

I’d just like to drop a note to say thank you to all of you who supported and cared for my cousin for the brief period he was with you. My father was very poorly when he arrived at Barchester Moreton Hill Care Centre, having been 'rescued' from a poor situation. As soon as he arrived, I could see how relieved and happy he was to be there. Unfortunately, he was just too weak and passed that very night. The staff were nothing but marvellous. They all treated him with kindness and dignity, even staying with him through the night. I have no words of thanks sufficient and will be grateful for the rest of my life. Thank you.

My partner needed respite care at short notice, which was diligently organised by the manager in a very professional way. When entering the care home you are greeted by friendly staff who make you feel welcome. She was looked after well by the lovely and hardworking staff who went out of their way to cater for any needs she required. I would like to say thank you to the staff for their kindness and patience shown towards my partner, therefore I have no hesitation in recommending Moreton Hill as an excellent, caring and professionally run care home that genuinely cares for its residents.

My husband was a resident of Moreton Hill Care Centre for 17 months with Lewy Body Dementia, unfortunately, he died in April.
Myself and the family want to thank the staff for the care my husband received during his time there especially the last month when he was very poorly.
The staff went above and beyond to care for him with love and devotion, including myself and our children which made a very sad and difficult time easier for us.

We send a massive thank you to the care home and would recommend Moreton Hill to keep your loved ones safe and well looked after.

Reply from Roxana Moldovan, Senior GM at Barchester Moreton Hill Care Centre

Moreton Hill Care Centre is in the most beautiful setting with stunning views. The home is well-maintained with tasteful, modern decor. The rooms are well-decorated and have attractive outlooks.
We have found all the staff, from nurses, carers, housekeeping and admin to chefs, maintenance and activities coordinators to be really friendly and accommodating - nothing has been too much trouble and requests are carried out very happily. The atmosphere is a very happy one and all the staff enjoy interacting with the residents and their families which makes visits most pleasurable.
Mum loves the environment and all the staff. She enjoys the food very much too.

At first, Mum didn't want to leave her own home, but after only a few weeks at Moreton Hill, she agrees that her quality of life is so much better and says that we couldn't have chosen a better place.

Respite care - My father has just had three weeks at Moreton Hill getting him back on his feet after a short illness. The staff took the time to get to know him and were friendly and caring throughout his stay. Having not used care facilities before we were anxious relatives but didn’t need to be as all the carers were supportive (especially the manager) and helped to reassure us that he was in the right place to help his recovery.
The facilities are lovely and there is an outside courtyard that can be used to give residents some space and fresh air when the weather is fine. Each day there is a range of activities to enjoy if residents wish to and the home seems quiet but with plenty of friendly staff around. Special mention to the member of staff who from the moment Dad arrived kept an eye on him.

We cannot thank the staff enough.

Reply from Roxana Moldovan, Senior General Manager at Barchester Moreton Hill Care Centre

The nursing and caring staff were just amazing with my mum. So compassionate, kind, loving, patient, good-humoured, and completely focussed on the needs and wants of the residents. I was always greeted warmly on my visits and kept well informed. The place has a lovely feel to it, well presented and homely. Mum's room was cosy and pleasant. She was in the dementia unit where the special care needed was exemplary. I did feel that the regular residents had more activities than the dementia residents and I'd love to see more activities for the dementia unit. In the last days of mum's life, we were allowed 24-hour access to her, and the staff were absolutely brilliant, managing mum's decline professionally at the same time as showing empathy and care towards us. The only issue we had was with the contract and billing, which wasn't always handled efficiently. Other than that, we really couldn't have found a better last home for mum.

Respite care:
The staff took the time to learn the characters of the new (and temporary) residents.
When problems arose, time was taken to find a suitable resolution.

When new care needs presented themselves, all avenues were pursued until the correct approach was determined.

Dad is a resident at Morton Hill Care Home at the moment. Originally moved into the Memory Lane unit in June after a bad experience in another home, he was concerned about what it would be like. With the amazing staff, bringing fun and smiles to his everyday life plus the fact that he was allowed to keep his pipe, or as he calls it his 'dummy'. The fabulous activities coordinator made such an effort to research where he worked for many years and made him a memory box with such interesting items a past engineer just loved. It was the team's diligence that raised a health problem that now means palliative is necessary.

He has kept his same room and team around him, meaning that their amazing care and kindness can continue making the transition as easy as possible, not just for dad but for his family. Can't thank them all enough.
