Under very difficult conditions during Covid and since, all staff at Whittington House, many with 15 years of service, are supplying loving care to my father. From the first point of contact at the front desk to the assistant manager, it is very clear that everyone has my father's best interests at heart. Still, I feel that much-needed improvements in room cleanliness and hygiene standards must come soon so staff's goodwill and trying with love is matched by the now tired facilities. I intend to form part of a positive feedback loop to improve everything at Whittington House Nursing Home for our family, my father, the staff and all residents.
Thank you for your review. We are disappointed to hear about the cleanliness of your father’s bedroom. We have recently had some industrial cleaners into the home to shampoo the carpets and will continue to ensure that your father’s bedroom is thoroughly cleaned. We thank you for your positive...
A bit bumpy in the beginning but now really good. The receptionist is very helpful and willing to help, the nursing staff are very good at their jobs, friendly and welcoming and the gardener seems to be doing a good job.
Thank you for your review and positive comments regarding Whittington House and our team which work hard to deliver high standards of quality care at all times. Your feedback will be passed on to the team.
The care and manner of the staff during my short-term respite stay was exceptional.
Thank you for your kind words and recognition of the team at Whittington House. We hope to see you again at Whittington House and look forward to you visiting. Your comments will be passed on to the team. Thank you once again.
Mum has been at Whittington House for nearly two years now. She loves it there. She says the staff treat her wonderfully. She loves joining in activities - dancing, singing, artwork and chatting with everyone. She is very happy with her room and enjoys seeing the garden from her window.
Thank you for leaving such a fantastic review! We're happy to hear that your mum is enjoying joining in the activities at Whittington House and is happy with her room. I will pass on your kind comments to the whole team.
The care and kindness of all the people working at Whittington House have made such a difference to a very difficult time for us. Knowing your loved one is being looked after in a professional, happy and safe place makes having to leave them so much easier. We feel so lucky to have found them.
Very good.
My mum seems well cared for and says that the staff are very friendly and kind to her.
Everyone I dealt with - Admin, Reception, Clinical Lead, a couple of individual care staff - were, without exception, friendly and helpful. My mother received a very good standard of care, whilst she was a resident.
My cousin spent just over five months at Whittington House as her health deteriorated. We were both impressed by the general appearance of the home, the aspect of her room and the cheerfulness and helpfulness of the staff. She has sadly died (during the pandemic) and the staff were extremely caring during this difficult time.
My mother moved from her home in London to Whittington House 8 months ago. The manager and reception staff were so helpful in this process and the care staff welcoming when Mum arrived. Mum settled well and enjoys the activities offered. Her health has improved and she enjoys the chance to chat to the care staff who care for her so well. We are very grateful that she has been so well cared for during this current crisis. Thank you.
Excellent overall care and attention. Staff all with bright friendly smiles. Did a superb rehab for my wife that allowed her home again.
You brought me back to life with your constant attention given by your lovely staff, all of whom could not have been nicer. See you all again for respite visit.
My father is in Whittington House, he has dementia so finding a home where I felt he would receive the right care and attention for him was very important. The staff are extremely good with individual care. Entertainment is excellent and food is good. Overall I had no qualms about my father coming into Whittington House. Keep up the good work and Thank you for everything you do.
Sadly when the gentleman passed away the staff were able to ensure the practical details were dealt with swiftly and the body was released later that day for burial as was the custom for the communities requirements.
The family were supported and encouraged to spend time with the deceased man, to say prayers, to grieve and to take as much time as they needed, nothing was rushed and the family were made to feel that their needs were of the utmost most importance. I have rarely witnessed such a compassionate end of life care by a manager and her team.
A very accomplished, professional home. Well done.
This care home is the best we have encountered over the years for my partner and friends, hence the high grading.
In spite of all the complex difficulties in running a nursing home of this size, my stay here has been a comfortable and happy experience, made possible by a very capable and understanding manager and all her very kind and caring staff.
My wife has been a resident at Whittington house since October 2017 and I have been very pleased with the care she has received. Management, nurses, care and maintenance staff are all, without exception, very professional and compassionate in the way they deal with residents, some of whom have very complex needs. They all go out of their way to make residents feel comfortable and respected and they interact on an individual basis. Activities, both on-site and external, are varied and stimulating and residents and relatives are encouraged to join in. The chef and his team provide very good quality varied meals with daily menu choices and residents are encouraged to socialise at all times in a relaxed environment. Having visited other homes in the area in my search for suitable care for my wife I am pleased to have selected Whittington House.
My father, aged 99, spent what were to be his last four months at Whittington House. Although he suffered some residual delirium he was always treated with good humour and respect. He loved the food, there was an excellent chef and he enjoyed the social events. As he became frailer his personal care was carried out with no loss of dignity. Whittington House has a very happy atmosphere - one reason why we chose it - with staff and residents getting along well. Dad could not have been in a better place and there was excellent support for me too.
The rooms are well-maintained; they are neat and clean.
