Chestnut Court offers up to 80 residents compassionate, individualised nursing, dementia and respite care in a modern, comfortable environment. Opened in 2009, the home is in an attractive residential area, close to all local amenities in Quedgeley.

This modern home radiates a homely atmosphere. With your comfort and well-being in mind, this welcoming home is designed around four 'households'. You will find somewhere to relax or socialise with family and friends from your own spacious bed-sitting room, with en-suite facilities, to communal lounge and dining areas which are light, bright and comfortable.

Interesting scents, shapes and colours are provided all year round in their landscaped gardens. There are raised planting beds so you can join in the gardening activities if you so wish. To give you the support you need when you need it, a friendly, professionally trained team are on hand around-the-clock to support you in how you wish to spend your day enabling you to continue to enjoy a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.

Dedicated Activities Coordinators organise a varied programme of events around each individual's requests, hobbies and interests. The team will be delighted to assist you to continue with existing pastimes, as well as give you the opportunity to try something new if you would like to. They make sure everyone is able to enjoy themselves to the fullest, be that with arts and crafts, a coffee morning or more individual pursuits. Visits from outside entertainers happen regularly. The home has access to a Trust minibus for trips out.

A talented cook and kitchen team prepares tasty, home-cooked meals. The freshly-prepared, delicious dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and take into account individual dietary requirements and preferences. Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join.

The home provides a comfortable and safe environment for those with special needs. The management during the difficult times of the pandemic have been positive in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all, and in all measures were ahead of the ever-changing regulations. The staff, motivated by the excellent
care and dedication of the care leaders, thus ensuring the wellbeing of those in their care. An added benefit to all is the advance circular design providing safe access to all people.

My husband was treated kindly and as a personal individual, not as a 'number'. He was given as much freedom as possible - very difficult at times (due to himself and of course the virus).
His last years were made as happy and as cheerful as possible.

My experience with Chestnut Court is very positive. My dear mum passed away 22/05/20 - she had been in residence since January 2014. No-one wants their beloved Mum in a home, but the fact the care provided by an amazing team has allowed me to enjoy an incredible bond with my mum that I will always treasure.
My siblings and I are happy our inheritance has been used to allow Mum 24/7 care. The group can be extremely proud and grateful for incredible care staff who go above and beyond their duty. They certainly deserve a wage to mirror dedication!

My aunt was always treated with respect and dignity by the care team. She was included in as much activity as possible and the care team always took time to spend with her chatting and making her smile. Her room was always clean and tidy as was my aunt's appearance. I would definitely recommend Chestnut
Court to families of potential residents.

My husband moved into Chestnut Care Home and his care is excellent in every way. He has dementia and can be difficult at times. He is always very clean and tidy. His meals are good, I am more than happy with his care. When we go to see him we are always made very welcome and greeted with happy care
ladies in a very happy home.

The resident has come on well from her respite stay with you - she is eating better and has a carer going in so she has someone to see every day. She hasn't mentioned pain half as much as she did prior and seems bright in herself so looking forward to 90 this year!
We still hear about a friend she
made who lived in the same area when they were growing up, how she had someone walk with her to the chemist, the lovely lounge where she could watch the traffic (and have a little sleep!) and how kind everyone was - and please thank the chef as she is now doing her own scrambled egg on toast!
I think her stay with you has definitely got her back on track and given her and us that little break that was needed. I think we know there will be more dips ahead and I know she would love to re-visit you there. At least we've tried it and it was successful so we would not hesitate to re-book again.
Thanking everyone else for their kindness.

I am pleased with the care I am receiving although the carers are very busy and sometimes short of staff. It's been very awkward at the moment because of the infection going around, which I have managed to avoid.

Parent not helped to eat, food placed and left whilst Mum was laid down unable to access food herself.
Deterioration of health noticed by a member of staff two days after raised a concern.
Out of date info was sent with Mum when she went to A&E.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.721)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.721) out of 10 for Chestnut Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.746 for Chestnut Court is calculated as follows: ( (178 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 228 Ratings = 4.746
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chestnut Court is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
