My mother in law has just passed away after 12 years at Aspen Court. The length of time she spent there reflects the amazing kindness and care shown to her over the years. She was always kept clean and tidy and very well fed. She was happy and comfortable at all times and all her needs were met. When
her husband joined her there for the last few months of his life, he too was shown the same kindness and compassion. All the staff have been kind and helpful and any family requests were met. We would like to say a big thank you to the manager and all the staff at Aspen Court for all the years you looked after our relatives. From all of the family.

A very well kept home. They looked after my father in an excellent manner. His care and appearance was always immaculate and the surroundings at the home, cleanness, were second to none. I had no qualms about his stay there. If one had to go into a home I would have no hesitation in recommending Aspen
Court. The management was great and kept me greatly informed and the carers were very good. I would give all aspects 10 out of 10.

Although my Dad was only at Aspen Court Care Home for a short period, I found the environment and staff very warm and welcoming. The rooms were very clean and tidy and all the staff were very caring. My Dad was treated with dignity and I cannot speak highly enough of the kindness shown by all at the
home during this sad time.

My stepfather spent the final year of this year at Aspen Court after his previous care home closed. The standard of care given to him during this time was excellent and made us realise what he had been missing in his previous facility.
All the staff we met were extremely helpful and pleasant and we
were kept informed by phone when unable to visit in person. Two members of staff very kindly attended the funeral, which was appreciated.

The care at Aspen Court has been of the highest quality. My son has had wonderful care for three years. We recommend the nursing staff and carers for all they have done for him. We found his wheelchair a godsend. Without it, he would have been bedridden. A big thank you to you all.

Dad was only in here for a few days before being transferred to hospital. If you want the best of the best, this is the place to go. Every staff member was friendly to us, bringing us chairs and tea and biscuits. They're amazing with the residents, and so many told me that they loved their job.
The
management are always accessible whatever time you visit. When you ring, someone always knows the latest information for you. They take great care to ensure residents do not just end up sitting in their rooms and encourage them to go to the dining room and lounge areas.
There are lots of opportunities for activities and trips out, which will be tailored to your taste. Food is excellent and the whole place is spotless with cleaners constantly working. The staff really do care, they are highly compassionate and attentive to residents and family. We will never forget the kindness shown to us all, and as I say this is the only place we want Dad to come back to because it just feels so right.

Myself and family would like to thank all the staff at Aspen Court. My father was sadly only there for a very short time and he loved it. The care was outstanding. Dad was treated with the utmost kindness and respect both before and after his death. The home was beautifully clean and welcoming at all
times. Food freshly prepared and delicious. Room warm and staff friendly and accessible.

My mum has recently passed. The care and understanding that was shown to me and my family was exceptional. Mum was treated with dignity and care. Over the 2 and 1/2 years she was at Aspen Court, the care that she received was excellent and the staff were always kind and courteous and they took as much
care of us when visiting as they did of Mum and the other residents.

My father has just died, having spent his last few months in Aspen Court Nursing Home. He could not have been in a better place. Unlike so many, this home is well run by a very caring team of experienced people. I cannot commend them highly enough! They made his last days bearable and understandable.
Thank you.

A lovely home and the staff are very good.
I was upset to see my brother in the day room, sat in a chair in pain and I did speak to one of the carers. Also, a resident shouting when my brother was not well and in his last days.
But I could not fault it.
Also the service with tea and coffee and a
biscuit.
They kept us informed what was going on.
The staff and management were there at all times for us.

The care given to the family was just as important to the staff as was the care for the residents. If we had any concerns about my dad, the management and senior staff were always willing to talk to us. Dad was a resident from 8th November 2016 until 17th April 2017.

They are lovely, friendly, caring staff here. My husband spent two and a half months at this home. He always looked clean and tidy.
Indeed the whole place was kept very clean. Near the end of his life and confined to bed, the nursing care was excellent. There was no hesitation in call the GP on a number
of occasions and I was always kept well informed. As relatives, we were treated with great kindness and compassion and frequently welcomed cups of tea and biscuits.
Even at his funeral the home was well represented. Thank you so much.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.369)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.369) out of 10 for Aspen Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.617 for Aspen Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (68 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 94 Ratings = 4.617
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.752 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Aspen Court Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.4 = 0.952
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
