This year my grandmother has resided in Oaktree Court nursing home. We especially chose this home as I have worked here as a nurse in the past, and I know that it is a lovely nursing home.
As expected, my grandmother and family were apprehensive about the transition from home to a nursing home, but
we didn't need to worry.
My grandmother absolutely loves it here and is always singing her praises for the members of staff, wonderful food and activities that she can partake in.
There was an issue (not with the nursing home) at the start of her move, but the management and nursing staff acted quickly and efficiently to involve the appropriate authorities to protect my grandmother.
All of the family, including her very close friend, have been welcomed into the home and have been able to visit when we like, even with Covid restrictions in place.
I would and have recommended Oaktree Court to anyone I know.

My mother has been living at Oaktree Court for three months now, and the care that she has received has exceeded all my expectations.
I had looked after both my parents in their ageing years, my father until his death aged 90, and I had planned to keep my mumma at home with us too, until the end of
her days.
She was 101 in February, and although still physically very able, her increasing memory loss was giving me constant worry about her safety, so it was a hard and emotional decision to finally admit that she needed more care than I was able to give her.
The whole experience of her moving to Oaktree Court has been an absolute joy. From the moment you walk into this lovely 'Country House', the warm welcome from the staff, the friendly, professionalism, the beautifully tended gardens, you instantly know that it is a lovely place to be.
The care, attention, stimulation and love that she receives from her carers, is more than I could ever hope for.

Mum has been a resident for the past 6-months or so and passed peacefully away yesterday. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and attention she received during her stay, particularly towards the end; she was treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
Oaktree Court is in a beautiful setting,
and the rooms are bright and clean. Lots of activities are provided, COVID permitting, and the whole atmosphere is wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

I cannot praise enough the team who tirelessly work for the better lives of their residents at Oaktree Court. My father has dementia but with the kind and familiar service he experiences every day here, he is present, happy, entertained and engaged. I am very grateful for their ‘home from home’ attention

The home gives every resident the care we as a family would give. Detail is always given to the way they are looked after before entering the home, their likes and dislikes are always remembered. They have a brilliant entertainment programme and make sure residents have a chance to continue their hobbies.
A lovely relaxed environment, clean, tidy and staff go above and beyond to care for residents.

During this incredibly difficult period, the level of care in Oaktree by all the staff has been fantastic. The rules were rightly strict, which paid off, as unlike some of the other local care homes, they have lost very few residents/friends. The general service, care and things like the food have continued
to be of a very high standard, and every effort seems to have been made to keep residents as happy as possible, which under the circumstance must have been not easy.
As things have eased, the home has carefully increased visiting and contact with residents, which I am sure all relatives are very pleased about, as the last thing we want is another rise in the number of cases.

All the staff are very caring and take time with the residents. When the home was open before covid, the residents all seemed very happy and well cared for. Visitors are always greeted by friendly staff, who are always prepared to listen if you have any question or queries.

We are just coming around to the anniversary of the first Covid-19 lockdown. A whole year has passed. It has been a very worrying time for everyone, especially for care homes. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at Oaktree Court for their bravery, diligence, and total commitment throughout this
potential nightmare scenario. They held firm, they stayed true, totally devoted to protecting the residents whilst having to make difficult choices that, let's face it, even challenged Governments. No one knew how this pandemic was going to play out. Selflessly they worked long hours, in difficult, uncomfortable PPE, they found ways of keeping the residents calm and entertained, whilst internally they must’ve been terrified for their own safety. Literally, their own lives on the line. I cannot thank them enough. The truth is there to see. Total commitment. Total professionalism. Total respect.

I was anxious about Mum going into a home during the pandemic, but she has been so happy since living at Oaktree Court. The manager and deputy were both so helpful and welcoming before and during arrival, and all of the staff are wonderfully kind. She says the food is lovely and plentiful and is enjoying
lots of time in the beautiful grounds. Her room has a wonderful view and a nice size.

Both of my parents moved to Oaktree Court in July. I was impressed with the administrative processes, arrival procedure and welcome given - particularly in light of the additional restrictions imposed by COVID-19. Although I have not been able to enter the home all my dealings to date with staff indicate

Very high standard of care. Staff are caring, kind and attentive they have made my mother's stay bearable. She has lots of health issues but has been in less pain and discomfort due to the high standard of nursing care. They listen to her which is important. The lockdown has been very difficult for
her but they have coped well!

We are sorry that you have scored some areas with 2 or 3 stars. We always do our utmost to make all of our residents happy and respond to everyone's needs and wishes individually. Our chefs do spend a lot of time with Mum regarding her food choices and our activities team try hard to engage Mum in either 1:1 or group sessions. We have also offered several room choices since her time with us and she has chosen to stay in her current room. However, if you would like to discuss any of these further, we are always happy to help and improve our service and help in any way we can.

During these difficult times, I have found the home extremely diligent and caring. They appeared to be well prepared for the pandemic with no shortages of PPE as far as I was aware. My mum cannot speak owing to a stroke, and I have regularly emailed her, and the manager and staff have always found the
time to read them to her and leave the message for her to look at and read herself afterwards. All the staff at this home are absolutely lovely, and I cannot speak highly enough of them.

Firstly I would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Oaktree Court for their continued hard work and care for Mum and other residents during these hard times.
Mum has been at Oaktree Court for just over 2 years now. It has always been a lovely home but since having the new management
team in place the home has improved a great deal. Both the manager and the deputy manager are very approachable, friendly and if there is anything Mum may need they put it in place as soon as they can.
Mum really enjoys the food, if there is something that she doesn't fancy on the menu then staff will ask her what she would like and sort it out with the kitchen for her.
Activities are great, I love seeing pictures of Mum on Facebook trying different things that she didn't get to do at home.
The home have recently started carrying out window visits which are working very well, it feels so safe and I can see that Mum is very happy and is being looked after very well.

My aunt recently moved into Oaktree Court, the improvement in her general health and well-being is quite amazing. The home and its grounds are wonderful. The perfect setting.
The whole care and management team have been amazing throughout her stay. They keep us informed and have enabled me to keep
contact with my aunt throughout lockdown via video call and have sent pictures and emails.
Throughout the pandemic, we have been updated on the status of the home, the plans moving forward and have been reassured about PPE and food supplies.
The new visiting procedures via the coffee lounge patio doors is inspired and a welcomed addition to everything else the team have done for me through lockdown. Seeing auntie again after so long was just amazing.

My mum has been resident for just over a year now. We were so worried when Covid hit, especially with the news reports. We need not have been so anxious as the decision to place restrictions on visitors and then lockdown at the home happened ahead of Government guidelines. Communication has been great
throughout and my mum has been so well cared for. I can't thank the team at Oaktree enough for the extra mile that they always go to (who can forget the video of the Ascot day races), especially during the recent months.
We saw my mum for the first time yesterday since mid-March and she was happy and relaxed and delighted to see us. The visit was carefully managed with social distancing observed. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone for taking such good care of yourselves and the residents.

Oaktree Court is a lovely home in beautiful surroundings. I cannot praise all the staff highly enough as they are so caring and give 100% all of the time. Any queries I have are always dealt with quickly and efficiently by the manager and nurses which is so reassuring, especially in current times. Although
we are unable to visit at present I am able to speak to her regularly via video technology and she is always happy and looks well looked after. The home is a very warm and friendly place and it is always alive with music, games and laughter. It is spotlessly clean and smells fresh, which is rare in my experience of care homes previously. My Aunt enjoys the food and has put on weight since living at the home and looks so much healthier. They even grow their own fruit and vegetables and use them in their meals which we are able to see on the home's Facebook posts. I would not want her anywhere else.

    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 56 registered maximum number of service users is 11.2. 10 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.2 = 0.893
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hi, I'm Marie, Home Manager at Oaktree Court!


I am absolutely delighted to be back at Oaktree Court as Home Manager! Having previously held this role from January 2019 to October 2021, it feels wonderful to return to such a warm and welcoming community. After moving to Shropshire for a time, I’m now back in Somerset and couldn’t be happier to have rejoined the team.


As a Registered Nurse, my background spans a variety of areas, including Paediatrics, Accident & Emergency, Police Forensic Nursing, Substance Misuse, Rapid Response, Acute Medical Wards, and Out-of-Hours GP Specialist Nursing. I’ve also managed nursing agencies and care homes, as well as held regional and compliance roles.


Providing exceptional care, upholding high standards, and advocating for residents has always been at the heart of my work. I love getting to know our residents and their families, and I’m always happy to have an informal chat about life at Oaktree Court. If you’d like to know more, please do get in touch!

I am the Head Chef at Oaktree Court.


I am responsible for running the catering services at Oaktree Court, ensuring residents receive meals they enjoy. I use the best locally sourced ingredients to create incredible dining experiences.


As part of my role, as Head Chef, I make sure there is ample choice available for everyone, you will often see me around the home chatting to residents, finding out what they like best and ensuring everyone is happy with the food being served.
