My wife has been very well cared for during this time. The atmosphere is friendly but very competent. The accommodation is cheerful, clean and bright. My wife is unable to communicate, so I am not sure about food quality, but I am sure she is well fed.

My Uncle has been at Wessex House for just over 5 months now and seems to have settled in well. I haven’t been able to visit as I live in Lancashire but the staff have organised weekly video calls. I receive regular communication and updates. All the staff I have dealt with seem helpful and friendly.

My uncle has been in Wessex House for well over a year now and thanks to all staff concerned, he's settled in very well and is happy. He feels safe and despite not being able to participate in any activities, he tells me he is very contented. Management and staff always keep me well informed despite

My father has been at Wessex House since the beginning of the Covid pandemic - a very difficult and unrepresentative time for Wessex House. During this time, Wessex House has tried hard to provide visiting access, within government guidance, by appointment. I look forward to the day when I can just
pop in. Staff are always very helpful, attentive and supportive within the context of being extremely busy. They seem to know my father well. The building is always clean, tidy and doesn't smell! My father is always dressed, clean and tidy when I see him. He says he is bored and spends much of his time in his room and perhaps could benefit from more stimulation but his capability is limited and his memory is badly impaired so he might not remember. I acknowledge the difficulty in arranging activities during the pandemic. I have seen bingo sessions and an entertainer on my visits. I haven't had a programme of activities for January or February, usually sent to me by email. As visits have to be booked, I am not aware of food but he always has drinks available and staff have asked him what he would like for lunch. I have no knowledge of other care homes to compare but I have been pleased with the care my father has received during what has been a challenging time for care homes.

We visited a resident just after Christmas. We were welcomed at reception and dealt with the necessary Covid protection procedures. We were then invited to see our friend in his bedroom. His room was clean and tidy and he told us he was happy with his care. We wanted to enquire whether a particular
type of chocolate could be left (because of his nutritional problems), and whilst there appeared to be very few nursing staff around, we were eventually able to ascertain the answer. As we live a long way away from Wessex House, we are only able to visit every few months, but we were pleased to see him looking well and satisfied.

I have been friends with two of our older Long Sutton ladies who moved to Wessex House during the Covid Pandemic joining another former village resident who had lived at Wessex House for several years. I was delighted to be able to connect with the Wessex House Activities Organiser in enabling some
online get-togethers via video calls, with the ladies. Over the months we kept them in touch, via email, with village activities as well as our regular online church services. I was pleased to hear that the experience enabled them to then connect with services led by one of the ladies nephews who is himself an ordained minister.
Having recently visited one of the ladies who was having palliative care, I was impressed with the comfort and care provided by the Wessex House staff.
I was happy to hear that the ladies had agreed between themselves that, having moved from their homes in Long Sutton, Wessex House was now their home for this remaining phase of their lives. Thank you for providing such a wonderful home for their final days.

On going to Wessex House last week to visit my cousin, I was pleasantly surprised to find most of the residents were about to listen to 60/70 music and was asked if I would like to join them. I sat with my cousin and watched the reaction of some residents; they were really enjoying themselves, even
a few dancing, and most singing the words of songs they remembered from years ago. The carers were joining in and interacting with residents, which was nice to see.

My mum has been with Wessex House for about 18 months and we could not be happier (and prior my Dad). The staff consistently make efforts to make a warm, inclusive and welcoming environment. Feedback matters and they are more than willing to make my mum comfortable. There are open lines of communication
between us all, including my mum. The way that Wessex House is responsive and caring helps greatly. I am far away from my mum but still have a great relationship with her due solely to the additional effort of the staff. The Covid situation tested us all and the Wessex House team has shined. Every time I call there are activities from cake making, bingo, card making, outdoors when possible and even live music. Thank you to the team - especially the activities crew!

Today was my Nan's 100th birthday and like we have always found staff went over and beyond to ensure the best day was had by all. The fantastic team had arranged for a town crier to announce Nan's birthday to the world and the look on her face was of pure joy. Cake, flowers, balloons and banners had
already been organized earlier in the day. A big thank you to another member of staff who came with her children who had made paintings for Nan, again big smiles. The care and love that the team give to Nan is second to none, thank you for making her very special day amazing and thank you for caring the way you do, we know she is in safe hands.

After a spell in hospital following two falls, it was decided that the best option for our father was to go into full time care. We are a Yeovil family but the care homes in Yeovil were full at the time of his discharge from hospital. We were so fortunate that Wessex House had availability. I was also
fortunate to be advised every step of the way by the business liaison coordinator who I cannot thank enough. Our father remained in Wessex House for just over two weeks and received excellent care and has now been transferred.

My husband was transferred to Wessex House from a 'home' in Langport as he needed full nursing care. The family and myself were apprehensive at first but were soon made to feel welcome and realised he was getting good care and settling well. He has now been in Wessex House for 22 months and we feel

My father has recently become a resident at Wessex House. We are so pleased by the quality of his new environment. He seems to have found his transition to a nursing home quite difficult, but he seems to have been treated with respect and compassion by the staff. So, so far so good, keep it up.

Only recently moved into this home my Mum has settled in and is beginning to regain some of her environment after suffering a stroke. She is happy and enjoys the food although she would prefer to be able to get around on her own as she is unable to walk now. She gets on well with the staff and joins
in activities when she is able.

Food served on cold plates, therefore it was never hot. My bed was not made, or the room cleaned, sheets were changed once in the 2 weeks I was staying. I was not showered, once a girl tried to shower me in the toilet area, next to my room, with only a shower curtain and no tray, the water went all
over, under the door into the bedroom. I am unable to walk and use a wheelchair. I feel lonely and isolated!

Since April 18 our family has been in contact with management, operational management and CQC, due to our ongoing concern in regards to family residing in Wessex House. The local safeguarding team has also been notified through CQC. We have had ongoing concerns due to hygiene, safety, safeguarding,
diets and general basic care - all have been raised as required. Although there have been some improvements - they do not remain consistent. Staff are not consistent on the levels which leads to inconsistent care to residents. Care plans and documentation are not up to date and general communication is poor.
