Over all time Avebury House has 58 reviews.
Throughout my mothers stay at Avebury House for the past 18 months I have found the staff to be caring and supportive of all my mothers needs. She particularly enjoys the lovely gardens. All the staff are happy to listen and respond to any questions or requests. There are lots of fun activities offered to residents. The new manager has made a positive impact with improvements to the whole environment, including a cinema room and seating area to watch the canal.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review for the home. Avebury house really does have beautiful surroundings and mum does like to have her input in what we do . We will of course share your lovely feedback to the team.
All is appreciated :-) Thank you ever so much :-)
Thank you so much for your kind review, I know James and his team will be delighted to receive such positive feedback.
James & Jazmine have made the process of moving Mum into the carehome less painless with their help and understanding. From the initial show around to Mums admission has been handled with great compassion
Thank you so much for your kind comments and feedback. Our team will be delighted to read this.
I am very happy with the care my sister is receiving. Everyone is very kind to her; sadly, she cannot enjoy all the facilities that are available to her due to mobility issues. But I am hoping things may improve in the future.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We are delighted to hear that your sister is happy and feels well cared for. Our team will continue to support her with kindness and compassion, and we hope that her mobility improves over time so she can enjoy even more of what we have to offer.
At 91 we were nervous too.
However we couldn't be more pleased with her progress in being so happy there.
The team, staff eveyone is so kind and my mum now calls it home.
I cannot stress what a lovely, clean, happy place it is.
Im delighted she has found the care she needs and as a family we are very very happy with the home
Thank you for taking the time to complete the review for the home. We will of course share this with the team
In my tree years at Avebury House I have been very grateful and satisfied with the care and support of all the carers and nurses, I am totally dead for do not partake in the many activities provided, but enjoy the games of dominoes and cards with other residents, I cannot comment on food or drink as I am unable to swallow I am fed direct by tube to stomach with liquid energy food, so my final words of my residency at Avebury House is this is my home and I'm very happy here. Thank you.
Thank you for your lovely comments. We are so pleased to hear that Avebury House feels like home to you and that you have been happy with the care and support you receive. Your kind words mean a great deal to our team, and we are grateful to be part of your journey. Thank you for being a valued member of our Avebury House family.
Dad has been a resident since Feb 2023, has been deaf since 16 and is now 95yrs young. He's independent with his own personal care and can mobilise a short distance with his frame. He has always received the best of care and attention from all staff - Activities include him in Cribb and Domino games, nursing staff give him his daily dose of nutrition via his PEG, care staff assist him with his Friday morning trip to the shower with a change of clothes, and housekeeping ensure his room is clean and any laundry returned on time. He is a well liked resident who enjoys the interaction and banter with staff and fellow residents. He is treated with a high level of care, dignity, and respect and has built a loving and friendly relationship with all staff. The home is well led and has an excellent administrator who looks after resident finance funds and appointments with the hairdresser and chiropodist etc. It's a lovely home and Dad is very happy there. Many thanks to everyone xx
Thank you for taking the time in completing the review. Your feedback was lovely to read and we will be sure to feed this back to the team within the home. Lovely to know that dad is very happy at the home.
She started in respite care, then switched to permanent and got a better room. Confused and reluctant to stay for the first few weeks, but the staff are all friendly and helpful. Food is good, and she has plenty of visitors and trips out, so she is becoming happier about being in the home. She is encouraged to hang up pictures and collect possessions to make it feel like home. She enjoys sitting in the garden. James and Jasmine, the managers, have been very helpful in explaining options and helping her settle in. The only problem is that the phone messages are not passed on when they should be.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We're so pleased to hear that settling in has become easier and that the garden, outings, and support from the team have helped make the home feel more comfortable. Your kind words about James, Jasmine, and the staff are greatly appreciated and will be passed...
She's safe, well cared for and respected and I can't fault how she's been treated.
My only minor gripe is that internal communication seems to fall down sometimes. Messages don't always seem to get through to other members of staff and, when my Aunt has been unable to take my calls, I often don't get the return phone calls that I'm promised.
Overall though, I'm very happy and know we made the right decision moving her here.
Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your experience. We're delighted to hear that your aunt feels safe, respected, and well cared for by the team, as that is always our priority.
We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding communication. Please be assured that this is something...

My husband has been a resident for over a year and is very happy. The staff are friendly and obviously enjoy their jobs.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this review for the home. We will of course share your comments back to the staff.
Care in this care home is excellent in manners of ways, because all of the staff - manager - to kitchen staff - housekeeping staff and also the nurses and carers - because each and every member of staff at Avebury House care about what they do. That makes an excellent home in my opinion. Excellent all round.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review for Avebury House. We will of course share the lovely feedback to the team.
Nothing is too much trouble. All Mum's needs are being met highly.
They are so sweet and kind, very gentle with Mum.
Always keep us informed as sadly I live some distance away.
All questions are answered.
Mum is always very clean and her hair and nails done; And although bed ridden is in new nightclothes.
The rooms are cosy and bright.
It's warm and fresh.
It's so clean.
If any personal items are required- they always let us know.
Mum has been at Avebury House for 10 months and we are so pleased to have found her a home, not just a souless institution.
Sadly Mum can't really take part in any activities due to her having had several strokes, however the staff are very supportive and attentive
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a warm and detailed review.
We are really pleased to hear that your mum is happy and well cared for at Avebury House, and that you feel reassured by the communication and support from the team, especially as you are living some distance away. It means...
The level of staff in this home is, in my experience, as a retired GP, well above average and all are kind, willing to go a little further and competent.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're really pleased to hear that your friend felt comfortable and welcomed during such a difficult time. Your feedback means a great deal to us, and we will be sure to pass your message on to the whole team.

Excellent, very comfortable, well fed & watered. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled you found everything comfortable and enjoyable.
Very friendly and welcoming. Residents seem happy and well cared for. Staff are knowledgeable and kind - they are aware of residents' needs and preferences. Can't comment on value for money as have no knowledge of this area.
Thank you for your kind words! We're delighted you felt welcomed and noticed the care and attention our team provides. We'll be sure to pass your message on to the staff.
I was so grateful that Avebury agreed to take my partner for 2 weeks. He had been in the hospital for 8 days after some falls. Leaving him feeling very confused, not knowing where he lived and wandering around all night (after sleeping all day!) - I am 84, needed to get some rest to continue his care, he lived with me for 8 years after I suggested he should stay with me after his hip replacement - he stayed! bless him.
We're so glad we could support you and your partner during this time. Thank you for sharing - our team will be touched to know we could help both of you get some rest and reassurance.
My experience here and staff 100%. The management has been fabulous. They coped with my disabilities excellently. Vegetarian food has been great made with love. The cleaning staff is excellent.
Thank you very much for the lovely review. We will of course share your feedback with all the team.
My dad was placed at Avebury House following a long hospital stay, we've now moved dad to be closer to all his family as Devizes was a long way out and we couldn't visit as much as we'd like. I have to say Avebury House were fantastic and Dad was very happy there, he was well cared for, he thought so highly of all the staff, everyone went above and beyond to keep dad happy and to ensure he had everything he needed. I was always contacted if dad was unwell or if there were any concerns in regards to his health/wellbeing, dad was so sad to leave here and even though he's in a lovely new home, he often tells me how he misses Avebury House, the staff and the food. I really can't thank everyone here enough for making sure dad had a happy settled year and a half with you, thank you
Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about you and your father's experience at Avebury House. Your kind words will be passed onto the Avebury team.
