Hi Stephen, thank you so much for your wonderful review & kind words about Cedars and the staff. We are so glad to hear about your positive experience with us. Our team is dedicated to providing the best possible care and support to all our residents and families. It is incredibly rewarding to know...
The staff at Cedars, from the receptionist to the management and the housekeeping team to the nursing staff were all so warm, friendly and professional. They made it so easy for my brother and I to put everything in place quickly and without any stress. We cannot rate the food and drink at the home as my mum wasn't able to eat anything but we did meet the Head Chef and I am certain that the food would have been really good.
Sadly my mother only spent 2 nights in Cedars before passing away peacefully on the morning of the third day. She was out of hospital, out of pain and in a beautiful, calm environment. It was the last thing we could do for her. Thank you Cedars.
Hi Ali, thank you so much for your kind words. We are so glad that we could make mum's last wish to come true. We are happy that, we have a really good team of staff members here at Cedars who goes above and beyond to make sure that our residents are looked after well and safe. Thank again and condolences to all of the family members in this difficult time.
As I live alone I needed a week's care after total knee replacement and a friend of mine went into the Cedars after breaking a leg after a fall. Another had chosen the Cedars for end of life care as she had pancreatic cancer. Sadly she didn't live long enough to get there. So 2 recommendations. I can't speak highly enough of the wonderful care I had at Cedars. Such kind, dedicated staff. Nothing was too much trouble. I was even taken on a tour of the grounds in my wheelchair! Great choice of menus and I could even have sandwiches in my room for later if I wasn't hungry at dinner time. The quiet night time checking by kind staff. The list of timings of my medications for me to take home. It was also very nice to sit in the sheltered courtyard with tea and cake brought to me and any visitors. I could go on, but the Cedars is a beautiful nursing home in lovely grounds with wonderful, kind, attentive, professional staff. I came home feeling well able to cope on my own.
Thank you Sue for your kind words. As you know we provide respite and permanent stays and we strive to provide the best care no matter how long your stay with us here is at Cedars. We are very proud to say that we have a lot of long standing staff members at Cedars, and we believe that is because...
We visited him regularly and were always impressed with the care he received and the friendly and positive atmosphere.
The staff were professional and well-trained .
The manager was always accessible and supportive of all of us at all times.

Our mother moved to The Cedars in January 2026. She has advancing dementia and was quite confused when she arrived. Our mother has been able to rehabilitate since January 2026. She is calm, likes the environment, enjoys the food and sleeps well again. She's put on weight and her whole character is back to the person we used to know. The staff at the Cedars are supportive calm kind and good fun for the residents to be arround. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The environment is clean & tidy. Thank you all for the care to our parent. She is able to live with the dignity & respect she deserves.
Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are so happy to hear such kind words that our care and efforts are appreciated, moreover mum has settled in well which is amazing. We are so happy that we could offer you the help and support when needed.
Cedars have been so kind and caring at a time that has been extremely difficult for our family to navigate; our parents needing nursing care at the same time. Cedars guided us to enable our parents to be welcomed into their nursing care. This has been very comforting for us knowing they are safe together and that their different needs are being met. Everyone at Cedars has gone above and beyond to help our family. Highly recommend Cedars.
Thank you for your kind words. It is absolutely rewarding to know that our care and efforts are appreciated. We like to think we are all one family and are proud to include all our resident's family members in as much daily life for our residents as we can, and keep them updated. We are so happy that we could offer you the help and support when needed.
Pat is kept clean, tidy & fed and looked after. He is completely bedridden therefore his quality of life is restricted but he seems happy watching TV and reading. I know he is a bit isolated but the carers try to spend time with him, however they are extremely busy and do not have the time. He has a nice view of the car park and grounds from his room and can see what is going on around him
I visit once a fortnight again I am restricted on time as I am still working. When I arrive all the staff greet me and make me welcome. For his other sisters to visit it is a 70 mile round trip and again they are busy with their own commitments
The home has a lot of activities going on but Pat cannot partake of them however the staff involve him when they can i.e. animal visits
For his birthday they arranged a horse the winner of the Scottish Grand National to visit him which was so kind and considerate and he was over the moon about it
All in all it is an extremely caring good place to spend the rest of his life. We could not ask for more
Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful account of Pat's care. As a team we ensure he is being treated with dignity, kindness, and genuine compassion by the staff. While his mobility limits his involvement, it's reassuring to hear how our team make the effort to include him and bring moments of joy...
Without exception everyone at The Cedars works very hard to make this such a lovely home. All the staff always greet us with a smile and make everyone feel part of The Cedars family. We appreciate the regular relatives/carers meetings.
Thank you for your kind words. I am extremely grateful for our staff here at Cedars and proud of our staff retention being so high. Cedars is without doubt a massive family, that we thoroughly encourage everyone to be part of. We feel the relatives/carer meetings are beneficial for both...
The Cedars Care Home is in a beautiful grade 2 listed building with modern annex, set in attractive countryside. It has a calm atmosphere and actively welcomes and encourages groups and individuals from the local community to participate in events and activities. Staff always have time for a chat and all seem to know my mother well. Management have an open door policy and the manager is always ready to listen to any problems that arise and address the promptly. We visit the home twice a week and find it a welcoming place where my Mother is safe, well cared for and stimulated.

My Partners Nan is a resident here at Cedars. The first time I visited her, I was amazed at the home and the vast grounds were beautiful! The staff are always so polite and friendly, my partners Nan speaks so kindly of them all. She seems so happy and settled there which is so reassuring for us as a family!
Thank you for your kind words Adam. We take great pride in our lovely gardens. We have made a lot of effort and changes to the grounds over the summer months to make them extra special. We have recently updated our wishing well and hope that our residents and their families will be able to enjoy...
The staff (all of them) are a wonderful community of friendly, helpful & caring people, so very helpful, mums care & stay so far has been 99% brilliant, Im grateful she is here with the Cedars crew! The odd niggle from me over mum wearing wrong clothes! Would want this passed on and recognised as the best.

We like to think we are all a family and are proud to include all our resident's family members in as much daily life for our residents as we can. We will do our level best to make it 100% brilliant. My mum moved into Cedars in February and was treated with kindness dignity and respect from the very start. There is such a lovely family atmosphere and a really warm 'buzz' about the home. I was kept informed of my mothers health and was called whenever there was a concern. I would recommend the home to anyone looking for somewhere for their loved on. The staff are just brilliant.
Hi, thank you for such a lovely review. We are glad that we were able to look after your Mum at Cedars and I will relay your kind words to the team. Cedars is such a beautiful home in a lovely location, we are lucky to have such a fantastic team who goes above and beyond for our residents and their loved ones.
A caring and friendly, safe environment for my father to get the full time care he needs. Staff are very supportive and extremely personable and have a great rapport with both me and more importantly my father. The food is of an extremely high standard.
Thank you for your kind words about Cedars. It is incredibly rewarding to know that our efforts are appreciated, everyone really enjoys seeing and listening to dad playing his Trombone. We like to think we are all family and are proud to include all our resident's family members in as much daily life for our residents as we can. Thanks again for your review.
Very disappointed with respite care experience. Not all that was promised. Would not use again or recommend. Food on 1st day - appalling. Care not bad but understaffed. Effort to aid my mothers mobility did not happen. and do something about the bell system constant beeping night and day not restfull.
Thanks for taking the time to leave your review. We're sorry to read of your concerns raised, as we understand your family were complimentary of the care received by members of the team whilst you regularly visited the home. If you wish to provide further feedback to your comments here, please...
I arrived at Barchester The Cedars Nursing Home seven weeks ago. I came here suffering with depression and within ten days, it was gone. Your home is so clean, food is really good and the staff are wonderful. My husband came one year ago, the staff are so kind to him, you have only got to ask for something, it's done straight away. Yes, it was hard to leave our home but it was right to move. Best of all, the family know we are sage and being looked after.
Recently Mum went into respite care due to not coping at home without Dad and has now moved in permanently and has settled in quickly. The food is all home cooked and very tasty. There are lots of varied activities everyday and families are welcome to join in .
Mum is the the residential part so can see Dad whenever she likes.
Thank you to all the staff for the care and compassion that you show my parents, I couldn't ask for a better place.
My father arrived at the Barchester The Cedars Nursing Home in July and stayed until his passing in November. During this time the care he received was outstanding from everyone.
Thank you for your review. Please keep in contact and pop in for tea and cake if you are ever passing! We try to provide the best care in all aspects of the home and pride ourselves on this.
In particular, the end-of-life care my mum received was wonderful and gave me the reassurance that she was in safe hands for the last few days of her life and with the ability for me to stay with her too.
We strive to provide the greatest care and provide a clean, friendly atmosphere for our residents to live in and staff to work in. Thank you for your review and support, it is greatly appreciated.
My nan has settled in well at Barchester The Cedars Nursing Home and there is always a warm welcome from the reception team and manager when I visit. My nan enjoys being able to freely socialise throughout the home with the new friends she has made. Nan is happy there and speaks highly of the staff.
Thank you for your kind words about Cedars. It is incredibly rewarding to know that our efforts are appreciated, everyone really enjoy seeing your nan so happy. She has really settled well and made lot of friends.

Meet the Team (24)

I qualified as a nurse in 2009. I started my career back home in India for a few years before coming to the UK in 2013. I quickly found my passion for elderly care and felt a great sense of achievement when helping others live to their best potential. When the residents smile and see them happy, I know the team has done a fantastic job in enriching their lives.
I have worked as Head of Care and Deputy Manager for a few homes around London and in Hampshire. I believe I can keep up my good work to keep my residents and their loved ones happy & comfortable. I have always made a good relationship with all the multi-healthcare professionals for the well-being of my residents.
I love being out in nature and driving around in my spare time. My little one keeps me busy, the rest of the time.Looking forward to meeting you all.

My name is Michelle. I started my nursing career slightly later in life. I studied at Bournemouth University and after qualifying went to work in Bournemouth Hospital on the stroke unit. I became a specialist stroke assessor nurse before stepping out into nursing homes. I progressed from a senior nurse to deputy, to clinical manager and general manager before joining Barchester. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of nursing and love that you are helping someone at their most vulnerable have the most fulfilling life possible whilst supporting all of their needs where they require it. I am especially passionate about end-of-life care and ensuring that the person and their family have the support and comfort that they require at what can be a very upsetting and distressing time for all.

I am a compassionate healthcare professional with an MSc in pre-registration nursing (Adult Health) and about a decade of experience in the healthcare profession. What I value most in my work is making a meaningful difference in the lives of residents, collaborating within a supportive team and finding purpose in providing compassionate care within a stable and fulfilling career.
Outside of my professional life, I prioritise personal growth and stress relief through meditation, and I’m currently incorporating running into my routine. I also enjoy reading, learning new skills, watching Discovery and documentary films and travelling.

I qualified as a nurse in 2004 and have worked in the care sector ever since. I joined the Cedars in spring 2024. I really enjoy my work caring for the elderly. I get enormous job satisfaction from knowing that I have helped our residents and made a difference.
My hobbies outside of work include sports but cricket in particular.

Hi, I have been working in administration for over 10 years. I joined Cedars as an Administration Assistant in February 2022 and progressed to Administrator in July 2022, where I now lead a team of 3 lovely ladies. I am thoroughly enjoying leading such a strong team. Tasks related to administration are often important to keeping a business running efficiently. So, having the responsibility to complete tasks on time and in a quality manner without much oversight is crucial and really rewarding for me personally. Being in administration has many other benefits - I interact on a daily basis with residents, families, staff and the local community which can be really fun.
In my spare time, I love looking after my menagerie of animals, horse riding, and mostly just being outdoors! I also love spending quality time with my two children, who like to keep me on my toes!

I love learning about dementia and how I can benefit those diagnosed and this led to me being a trained Dementia champion for the home.
I implement many different ideas, improving the quality of care for our residents. My focus is inclusion and making sure all residents are included in everything, not only to enable them to feel independent and purposeful but also so that they are not inadvertently excluded by others.
