So far we found everything fine. Care seems good, and my mother is happy.
The service I get is very good on all counts.
Market Lavington is a very nice Care Home in a quiet village of the same name. We particularly like the very kind staff who have an excellent, empathetic relationship with our brother. All the carers are lovely and we are very grateful to them all. We are impressed with the food, which our brother likes very much. The Home is spotless. The manager takes all possible measures to ensure that visitors do not bring coronavirus into the Care Home. We are very grateful for this. The staff have even given us a box of test kits so that we do not have to test on the doorstep of the home and wait outside but can test ourselves just before we leave home and bring them with us. This is so kind and thoughtful. All the staff are so nice and very helpful, including the hard-working kitchen staff, the gardener and the odd job man who is very helpful too. The home is very well run. The staff and managers are absolute heroes, and they deserve congratulations on the high standards they achieve.
On a practical level, we are impressed with Market Lavington Care Home. Mum's room is simple and homely, the facilities are always clean. There is a little garden area where we have sat with her on sunny afternoons. The meals smell delicious and are healthy portion size. The afternoon tea trolley comes round with little cakes of a healthy size. There is a warm easy feel to the communal areas. Above all, we are very, very happy with the care Mum has received. She is very relaxed and affectionate with all the carers we see her with and clearly feels safe and able to express her needs.
Having been to other residential homes I do believe that there could be greater opportunities for enrichment such as raised flower beds so the residents can garden. The gardens are uncared for and could be utilised for residents mental health. Motr enrichment activities generally would be good as my grandmother complains of being bored. Staff though are very lovely.
Thank you so much for your helpful feedback, and please be assured that we are doing all we can to develop the gardens and our well being offering at Market Lavington. There is a refurbishment project due to start in October which will see improvements not only to the interior of our buildings, but...
I visit with my husband to see my sister. It is always nice and clean and the staff are very friendly, it is difficult to get into this place because of COVID, we have to make an appointment and the phone just rings and rings! Sometimes we have had to abandon visiting her due to this problem. Also, we have to stand at the front door pressing the bell several times before anyone comes!
I've never been so happy.
Mum went to Market Lavington as part of the NHS hospital discharge process. After 6 weeks she became a permanent resident, and has now been there for 7 months. Since arriving, her health has really improved due to the care of the nursing staff, and the good food. Mum has high nursing needs which are met. Despite her lack of mobility, Mum has been able to have tea in the garden, and can be included in the minibus outings. This is our first experience of a care/nursing home, and we've found the Management communication style is open and friendly; responses to emails are prompt, and we have found it easy to get updates on Mum's progress. The care staff are kind and helpful, and welcoming when we visit. During the pandemic when rules were strict, we always felt Mum was safe, and that the quality of care was a priority.
Mum was in the care home for three months, having spent time in hospital Mum went to Market Lavington for convalescence and was very well looked after at this time. They were so kind and understanding with all the Covid problems we are coping with. Every time I rang they were more than happy to talk to me. Mum was happy in their care. Unfortunately, we could not visit the care home due to Covid restrictions but were very pleased they could arrange video Whatsapp links with Mum.
Since I arrived here in 2016 I have settled in really well (or I think so) everyone is friendly and helpful. It will be much nicer when we have a garden space to sit in. No complaints.
Most of the staff are excellent, the problem I have is with the physical state of the room. As far as I am concerned, security is non-existent. My mother's french doors are extremely draughty; ants crawl under them, and anyone from the outside could just pull them open.
Many thanks for writing a review. Thank you for your very positive comments about the team at Market Lavington, this is much appreciated.

Food is good. Staff are helpful.
I was very sad to part with my home etc however since my stay at the care home I could not be happier and so looked after in every way. I should like to praise Market Lavington for the wonderful care I am receiving.
The love, care and compassion that every one of the staff gave to my husband in the last week of his life was second to none. Our family could visit when we wanted to, nothing was too much trouble and I would recommend this home to anyone.
Relief to arrive and to be met with kindness.
Visiting having restarted I travelled over from Northern Ireland and was permitted more than one visit per week. I am so pleased that this has been allowed. My mum appears clean, well dressed and happy. I have been very pleased with mum's care overall.
The staff are always friendly and attentive to my mother. The staff always seem genuinely interested in the happiness of my mother. A friendly welcoming place, my mother's home.
Thank you very much.
The home was always spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The menu's offered a good range of interesting and tempting home cooked options and all dietary needs were catered for.
We saw residents enjoying various in-house entertainment and being taken out on trips. Excellent on-site hairdressing facilities are available.
My mother's personal care was to a very high standard. She was treated with respect and dignity and encouraged to maintain as much independence as possible but never pushed beyond her comfort zone.
Mum was welcomed into Market Lavington Care Home with cares and smiles and humour. All staff have been sensitive and responsive to her needs including her preferred times of getting up/washed/dressed. Mum has had very regular and gentle nursing care to bandage her legs which are so much better than when she was in hospital. Food has been varied and tasty.
