Lot to say about Henford, all good, but this facility is made great by the staff. The staff are brilliant, helpful, caring and patient. I have witnessed the staff on many occasions and am in awe of how they deal with the residents, led well by management. Thank you.

Good quality respite care. So helpful that there are no minimum stay requirements. This flexibility means my husband is happy to take a short break and I can make the most of his funding.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide this review. We have really enjoyed having your husband stay with us for his respite breaks, and he has brought us plenty of smiles. It is great to know that it has also provided you with the opportunity to have some well-deserved short breaks.

The home is perfect for my husband's present needs, with the right amount of care. He especially enjoys the view from his room window, the meals and has found he can communicate with a couple of the residents.

A lovely afternoon in the garden for the pudding club in the sunshine. Cakes galore with some army soldiers providing interesting stories of their work. An excellent idea.
Staff pulled out all the stops, providing delicious cakes.

A friend of mine is staying in this care home and my wife and I visited him in June 2024. Together with his wife, we prepared a lunch of his favourite food which we ate in the home's private dining room. This is a lovely comfortable private space, large enough for probably 20 people but we had it just for the 4 of us. The home provided all the plates, cutlery etc... and set the table up. They also took it all away afterwards. Any resident can book this room to eat privately with friends/family: A great facility.
The home itself is outstanding. Our friend tells us he gets good care there. And we've witnessed that. During our visits we have been struck by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the cleanliness and freshness of the whole home and the overall facilities including the dining area, lounges and garden.

This is clearly a well-managed, comfortable and caring home.

I spent two weeks as a respite guest when my husband was admitted as a resident. We were both created with great kindness and respectfulness. I am confident that my husband is in safe hands. The staff were calm and efficient.

I think they are slightly understaffed at weekends.

Kind and caring staff.
Any problems encountered are dealt with quickly by management.
A small, friendly place that actually feels like a home.

The gardens are lovely and although some of the rooms are small and dark, there is ample opportunity to spend most of the time in a light, pleasant dining area or lounge.

The staff are kind and caring but I’ve had recent concerns that there are just not enough. I’ve brought this to the manager’s attention and she assures me there is, so perhaps it’s a management issue!!
My husband is very happy with the staff and the respect he’s given. Recently he’s been enjoying the activities that are appropriate for him and the activities manager does her absolute best to include him wherever possible.

His room is very gloomy and dark and does need freshening up.

Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. It is always so wonderful to read about how the staff are appreciated for their kindness, and I wholly agree that our activities team do their very best to include everyone when they can. My mum has been a resident at Henford House since December 2021. She is very happy there. I see her twice a week, and she regularly tells me how lovely the staff are and says that living there is like being part of a big family. This is despite the fact that she stays in her room all the time (her choice).
I find the staff very friendly and approachable. I am always made to feel very welcome when I visit.

When there have been any issues regarding Mum's care or health, it has been easy to sort things out.

As an old friend and LPA for a resident who lived at Henford House for two years I have full admiration for the care and kindness given to him by the home. All the staff were friendly, caring, kind, helpful and when suitable, fun. They were always quick to respond to any incident and the nursing staff gave me complete confidence. There was always a welcome when I visited as well as tea, coffee and cakes. All in all a very run home which I would recommend

My goal is to ensure that all of our residents and their families and visitors feel comfortable and can enjoy being in this beautiful and welcoming environment; and that the staff feel fully supported to perform at their very best.
I began my career as a Speech and Language Therapist, working with adults in hospitals, care homes and in the community. Having moved into leadership and management has provided me the opportunity to drive high standards of care and ensure that people are valued as individuals. I am committed to continuing with these goals in line with the high standards and superior lifestyle delivered throughout Barchester.

The highlight of my work is spending time with the people we support, and I am always available to have a chat about our home, services, staff, and most importantly, our residents.

I joined Henford House in March 2014; after five and a half years of domiciliary care, this position became available at Henford and I decided that it would be great to do more of the fun things in life with residents! It is great here at home; we get along so well and truly have some laughs. Residents have a wide range of activities to participate in each week, including armchair exercises, bingo sessions, singalongs, musical entertainment, pottery, manicures, celebrations and much more. It is very rewarding knowing that people are grateful for the work I've done when I go. Working here has also given me the opportunity to gain my Level 2 NAPA certificate.
