I felt the staff were very friendly and helpful. The gardens are beautiful very well maintained.
The home is very clean and the residents seemed happy.
I can honestly say I would recommend this care home.

I spent two weeks as a respite guest when my husband was admitted as a resident. We were both created with great kindness and respectfulness. I am confident that my husband is in safe hands. The staff were calm and efficient.
I think they are slightly understaffed at weekends.

The staff are absolutely wonderful and caring. It doesn't matter what their job is, they all care for the residents with dignity and kindness. I couldn't have asked for a better place for my Father. I never feel worried about my Father now.

Kind and caring staff.
Any problems encountered are dealt with quickly by management.
A small, friendly place that actually feels like a home.
The gardens are lovely and although some of the rooms are small and dark, there is ample opportunity to spend most of the time in a light, pleasant dining
area or lounge.

The staff are kind and caring but I’ve had recent concerns that there are just not enough. I’ve brought this to the manager’s attention and she assures me there is, so perhaps it’s a management issue!!
My husband is very happy with the staff and the respect he’s given. Recently he’s been enjoying
the activities that are appropriate for him and the activities manager does her absolute best to include him wherever possible.
His room is very gloomy and dark and does need freshening up.

My mum has been a resident at Henford House since December 2021. She is very happy there. I see her twice a week, and she regularly tells me how lovely the staff are and says that living there is like being part of a big family. This is despite the fact that she stays in her room all the time (her choice).
I
find the staff very friendly and approachable. I am always made to feel very welcome when I visit.
When there have been any issues regarding Mum's care or health, it has been easy to sort things out.

All the staff are lovely and many have worked at Barchester Henford for many years!
Mum is very happy here and enjoys the social side of things. Always laughing and smiling.
It's great we can bring the dogs in to visit.

Advision process made easy in what were difficult circumstances. Dad has settled in quite quickly. Staff encouraging him to be active. They get him up and dressed most days.

From my initial introduction until the sad death of my dear mother. Barchester Henford House Care Home has been exceptional! The entire team was professional and went the extra mile to make sure my mother was happy and comfortable until the end.

As an old friend and LPA for a resident who lived at Henford House for two years I have full admiration for the care and kindness given to him by the home. All the staff were friendly, caring, kind, helpful and when suitable, fun. They were always quick to respond to any incident and the nursing staff
gave me complete confidence. There was always a welcome when I visited as well as tea, coffee and cakes. All in all a very run home which I would recommend

My sister had tried three previous care homes but refused to stay, now at Henford care home. She has had the best care there in our opinion, all staff have been wonderful with her as she is not the easiest person to please. The nurses have sorted her medication as she was getting confused with it all
and hope she continues to stay. Also must say a big thank you to the house manager who is always happy to help with any problems and make my sister very welcome.

I came here after my hip operation for 2 weeks and I found it a lovely place. The carers cared kindly, the food was excellent and everybody was friendly and helpful. I met some lovely people who were living there permanently, the dementia patients upset them, I've worked with them. My room was good
but very cold as the door to the garden didn't close. The organiser was also absolutely outstanding.

Since discovering this, it has transpired that the door had some gravel from the patio area within the frame which was causing a gap at the bottom which has now been resolved.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful and efficient. All the staff introduced themselves to my Aunt June and took great care to make sure she had everything she needed.
The home is sparklingly clean and the room she has is lovely, light and airy.
We live a long way away and it is very comforting
to know that she is in safe hands.
She is looking forward to having a hair and Chiropody appointments.

This care home was used for a period of respite care, the staff were very welcoming, friendly and approachable. My mother was treated with kindness, respect, and dignity and was well cared for throughout her stay. Any small issues identified were addressed.
She tells me that the meals were delicious.

My goal is to ensure that all of our residents and their families and visitors feel comfortable and can enjoy being in this beautiful and welcoming environment; and that the staff feel fully supported to perform at their very best.
I began my career as a Speech and Language Therapist, working with adults in hospitals, care homes and in the community. Having moved into leadership and management has provided me the opportunity to drive high standards of care and ensure that people are valued as individuals. I am committed to continuing with these goals in line with the high standards and superior lifestyle delivered throughout Barchester.
The highlight of my work is spending time with the people we support, and I am always available to have a chat about our home, services, staff, and most importantly, our residents.

I have been at Henford House for more than 30 years. I am the Head of Housekeeping and I am responsible for keeping the housekeeping standards high. I am very proud of my role here and have a fantastic team which keeps the home in immaculate condition!


I oversee the laundry and the domestic teams, as well as supporting the kitchen team, I will gladly help out anywhere in the home.


I enjoy my position here, and I am always happy to help our residents and their families with questions or worries.
I have 3 grown-up children and a dog who all keep me very busy outside of work.

I have worked in Henford as a nurse since 2014. Many things have changed over that time, but the essence of what we do has never changed.
I am usually found working on days and my husband Daniel works at night here.
I am always happy to help out with any questions you may have about your loved ones here. I am in regular contact with the doctors and pharmacies to ensure medications are checked regularly, and our residents are healthy.
I originally came from Romania and can speak fluent Italian.

I joined Henford House in March 2014; after five and a half years of domiciliary care, this position became available at Henford and I decided that it would be great to do more of the fun things in life with residents! It is great here at home; we get along so well and truly have some laughs. Residents have a wide range of activities to participate in each week, including armchair exercises, bingo sessions, singalongs, musical entertainment, pottery, manicures, celebrations and much more. It is very rewarding knowing that people are grateful for the work I've done when I go. Working here has also given me the opportunity to gain my Level 2 NAPA certificate.

The grounds are fabulous, and I have taken great pride in building a beautiful environment for our residents and visitors to enjoy - weather permitting.
I also hold a weekly Gardening club with the Residents, which is very popular. Many of the residents have had a life-long interest and passion for gardening, and it is wonderful that I am able to support them to continue with this.

I joined Henford House in 1997 as a Laundry assistant and had my 25 years of Service award celebrations in 2022. I'm working towards my 30 year aware now!
Working as a laundry assistant here is much more than just working in the laundry - I get to spend time with every resident, and have been able to build friendships with many of them.
This is a beautiful place to work.
