My sister had tried three previous care homes but refused to stay, now at Henford care home. She has had the best care there in our opinion, all staff have been wonderful with her as she is not the easiest person to please. The nurses have sorted her medication as she was getting confused with it all and hope she continues to stay. Also must say a big thank you to the house manager who is always happy to help with any problems and make my sister very welcome.
We really appreciate you taking the time to review Henford and are delighted that you are satisfied with what we do here.
I came here after my hip operation for 2 weeks and I found it a lovely place. The carers cared kindly, the food was excellent and everybody was friendly and helpful. I met some lovely people who were living there permanently, the dementia patients upset them, I've worked with them. My room was good but very cold as the door to the garden didn't close. The organiser was also absolutely outstanding.
We are delighted that you have had a positive experience with Henford, but disappointed to hear that you found the room to be too cold. Since discovering this, it has transpired that the door had some gravel from the patio area within the frame which was causing a gap at the bottom which has now been resolved.
The home is sparklingly clean and the room she has is lovely, light and airy.
We live a long way away and it is very comforting to know that she is in safe hands.
She is looking forward to having a hair and Chiropody appointments.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review - your feedback is greatly appreciated.
She tells me that the meals were delicious.
Thank you to all for making this a positive experience for her.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. Your feedback is very much appreciated, and we hope to be of service in the future.
My father went in for respite care while his flat was being worked on by builders. The Standard of care was very good, staff friendly and helpful.
We are delighted that your father's experience of the home was so positive.
All staff are extremely friendly, helpful, polite and professional and will always go that extra mile where necessary. The home is very clean and well maintained, with a variety of activities for residents.
Thank you so much for your feedback. We are delighted that you are happy with the service being provided.
The staff here work extremely hard for us residents. The atmosphere between carers can be tense due to staff shortages. This isn't down to Covid or sickness. The majority of all the carers are extremely friendly, with nothing being too much trouble. I'm leaving here having had a very enjoyable time in respite, so much so, that 5/6 carers will be meeting me once I'm at home.
We will continue to review the staffing levels based on your feedback.
The staff were kind, the room was big, well decorated and airy, and she enjoyed the food.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your family's experience of Henford House. I am delighted that your Grandmother had such a positive respite stay with us.
The staff are friendly and kind. My aunt loves the garden.
Thank you for completing a review, your comments on the home are appreciated.
We had a poor experience and moved out after four weeks. The room was nice but the staff seem to be overstretched. Promises made to improve did not happen. Most of the staff did not seem to be as caring as they should be. The food bears no resemblance to that shown on the website. The contrast with the home we have moved to is enormous.
Thank you for your comments and please be assured we treat all reviews and feedback seriously. It is unfortunate that you feel this way and certainly is not within the current views of the residents we care for and their loved ones. However, we did speak before your friend left Henford House to...
This is a fabulous home with wonderful nurses and care staff. With Mum here, I can resume a normal working and home life. The standard of food has diminished markedly since her arrival and I feel that more should be done as regards interactive involvement and entertainment rather than the merely passive. These observations aside, the venue stands out and above all its local competitors.
Many thanks for taking the time to comment on your experience and please contact Henford to discuss further if you wish.
I was looking for a nursing home for my grandfather following his hospital admission. I found Henford House in the Warminster area, which was a bit further away than I wanted, but I was so overwhelmed with the dignity and passion the staff gave me and my grandfather, I knew I had found the right place, and somewhere he could call home. Admission went smoothly, and feel it's been the best decision we have made. Highly recommend the home.
We are very grateful for your lovely comments and really pleased your Grandfather has settled in well at Henford House.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Henford House - an 81-year-old ex-soldier.
Thank you for your kind words, I am thrilled you enjoyed your stay with us. We know how much you enjoyed socialising with residents and staff during your stay. We provide a wide variety of daily group activities for residents to join in with if they wish, and we hope if you stay with us again, we can tempt you to try something new!
Gosh, these have been stressful times for all the staff and residents as Covid has had us all in lock-down. However, throughout we have been very confident that our mother will and has been extremely we looked after by a very caring and responsive staff team. Her flat is well appointed and the food and entertainment first class - the home is within lovely grounds which are well looked after and everyone we have met or spoken to is always positive and highly professional. We made the right decision in allowing our mother to live here permanently.
Thank you for your lovely comments. We are so pleased Mum has settled in well at Henford.
The staff at Henford House were extremely friendly and caring. They could not have been more helpful. The Manager and her team were very welcoming and supportive. Henford House is in a lovely setting, beautiful grounds (lovely gardener!), light nicely decorated rooms. Very kind and caring.
Thank you very much for your kind and lovely comments, I will ensure that your feedback is passed onto the team at Henford. It is always lovely to receive great feedback. Kindest regards.
Compared with the five other care homes my husband has been at over the past year, Henford is much better in every way. The staff is always very kind and caring, but at times overstretched, as on three occasions I have arrived at 12 pm to find my husband has not been attended to e.g. not washed and had his glasses on or have the curtains drawn. I think more carers are needed because they work very hard.
We always welcome feedback at Henford House and after discussing these comments with you we are delighted that you have decided to now place your Husband with us permanently.
I have no hesitation in recommending Henford House as a superb care home for anyone who needs this service. My mother has been there for a total of 12 months and I am really happy that she is safe and secure in the home. The facilities are great, the staff are extremely attentive and caring and she gets on really well with all of them. The home put on a superb birthday celebration for her recent 101st Birthday, which all the family were extremely grateful for. My mother is safe and happy at Henford and I can feel satisfied that she is being well looked after.
Thank you for your lovely comments and we are very pleased Mum has settled in well. We will pass your comments onto the team at Henford.
Very pleasing staff and very helpful.
Thank you for your lovely comments, which will be passed on the team. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at Henford and wish you well.
Second time used this for respite from hospital for elderly mother. Manager compassionate and helpful, giving advice and assessing quickly and promptly to help relieve a stressful situation. Room and care excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for any of care staff. Both Mum and family felt well supported. The nurses, in particular, were first class in managing the medical side of things. Very efficient and caring and reassuring to both Mum and family. Gold star service in beautiful rooms and gardens.
Thank you for your lovely comments, this will be passed onto the team. We wish you both well.
The management are superb and don't make the resident's visitors think they cannot approach them.
There are many activities for all if one wishes to join in.
This particular care home is spotless and a joy to go to at a stressful time in our lives.

Meet the Team (10)

I began my career as a Speech and Language Therapist, working with adults in hospitals, care homes and in the community. Having moved into leadership and management has provided me the opportunity to drive high standards of care and ensure that people are valued as individuals. I am committed to continuing with these goals in line with the high standards and superior lifestyle delivered throughout Barchester.
The highlight of my work is spending time with the people we support, and I am always available to have a chat about our home, services, staff, and most importantly, our residents.

I support the nursing and care staff and am available for residents and their family members to chat with and get information from.
I have a young son and l daughter who keep my home life busy!

I joined Henford House in January 2022, coming from the food industry it’s been an interesting change but I find one the best parts of my job is being able to have a chat with residents and hopefully helping to make their day better.

I have been at Henford House for more than 30 years. I am the Head of Housekeeping and I am responsible for keeping the housekeeping standards high. I am very proud of my role here and have a fantastic team which keeps the home in immaculate condition!
I oversee the laundry and the domestic teams, as well as supporting the kitchen team, I will gladly help out anywhere in the home.
I enjoy my position here, and I am always happy to help our residents and their families with questions or worries.I have 3 grown-up children and a dog who all keep me very busy outside of work.

I am usually found working on days and my husband Daniel works at night here.
I am always happy to help out with any questions you may have about your loved ones here. I am in regular contact with the doctors and pharmacies to ensure medications are checked regularly, and our residents are healthy.
I originally came from Romania and can speak fluent Italian.

I joined Henford House in March 2014; after five and a half years of domiciliary care, this position became available at Henford and I decided that it would be great to do more of the fun things in life with residents! It is great here at home; we get along so well and truly have some laughs. Residents have a wide range of activities to participate in each week, including armchair exercises, bingo sessions, singalongs, musical entertainment, pottery, manicures, celebrations and much more. It is very rewarding knowing that people are grateful for the work I've done when I go. Working here has also given me the opportunity to gain my Level 2 NAPA certificate.

I have worked at Henford House for many years and enjoy my role. We all work together as a team and its a very happy place to be. I love being involved with the residents and even took on some care shifts. We are one big family!

I joined Henford House Care Home as a Care assistant in June 2016. I very much enjoy my role here.

The grounds are fabulous, and I have taken great pride in building a beautiful environment for our residents and visitors to enjoy - weather permitting.
I also hold a weekly Gardening club with the Residents, which is very popular. Many of the residents have had a life-long interest and passion for gardening, and it is wonderful that I am able to support them to continue with this.

Working as a laundry assistant here is much more than just working in the laundry - I get to spend time with every resident, and have been able to build friendships with many of them.
This is a beautiful place to work.
