I find Merlin Court to be a bright and happy home and very welcoming. It has an atrium which leads out to a nice little garden. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The meals are nicely presented and the quality is to a good standard. They provide daily entertainment which is also varied and stimulating. It overflows to invite the visitors also. On special occasions eg birthdays they provide a small gift and cake and make it a special time. Overall a home that aspires to a high standard.
Thank you so very much for your kind words regarding our lovely home. We endeavour daily to create the very best environment for our very amazing residents, relatives and visitors. Staff and residents alike are treated individually with kindness, understanding and compassion. Staff strive daily to...
My father spent 2 weeks of respite care after a hospital visit. He had a number of complications that the staff handled very well. They were friendly, reassuring and professional and showed genuine empathy even though he was only there for a short time. My father has a restrictive diet and did find the food repetitive and not very exciting. Apart from that, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the whole home has a welcoming feel to it. Thank you for looking after him so well.
Thank you so much for your feedback, it is always appreciated!
Friendly, highly professional staff ensure that a wonderful relaxed atmosphere exists. Staff seem to genuinely care about wellbeing of the residents and nothing seems too much trouble. There always seems to be an activity going on outside of meal times including afternoon trips. Premises are spotless. Well done!
Thank you so much for the feedback, the team at Merlin Court are so happy you are pleased with the home!
Enjoyed two weeks of respite rest. The staff are very good and friendly. Gluten-free food was excellent. Modern and comfortable home.
Thank you so much for the lovely review! The team here at Merlin Court appreciate it and we are so happy that you were happy with the home!

Always greeted with a hello and smile and chat from reception.

I have visited my friend weekly for the last two years. Great empathy has been shown to her since her arrival. Initially unhappy to be in a "home", she is now both settled and content. The most impressive part of Merlin Court is the outstanding staff, courteous, cheerful and supportive not only to residents but to relatives and friends.
The team at Merlin Court would like to say thank you for your review! It is very much appreciated, and we are happy you enjoy the services that Merlin Court has to offer!
This is not in reference for one specific member of staff, it is for all the staff at Merlin Court. They are all very friendly, approachable and caring. I would highly recommend Merlin Court to anyone seeking a good care home, absolutely first class, five star.
Hello Jane, the team at Merlin Court would like to say thank you for your review! It is very much appreciated and we are happy you enjoy the services that Merlin Court has to offer!
I have been visiting a close relative in Merlin Court for the last six months. I am hugely impressed with the excellent care and support they get. As soon as you walk into the reception area you are greeted with a big smile and a warm welcome by the receptionist. The carers and nurses are all so kind, caring, understanding and always show respect and dignity. They all go the extra mile to both residents and families. The room and communal rooms are spotlessly clean. The housekeepers are another very kind and friendly team. Keep up the good work Merlin Court staff.
Thank you for your incredibly kind review and we are delighted that you are so happy with Merlin Court. It's very much a team effort in Merlin Court and I know that they will be very happy to hear such positive feedback. Thank you again.
The team are fantastic, supportive, helpful and understanding. So pleased Mum spent her last months in this care home. Everything was always clean, tidy and welcoming. Thank you.
Dear Simon, thank you very much for your kind review. It was an honour and a privilege to care for your Mum during her stay with us and we would like to thank you so much for inviting our carers to Mum's funeral. I know that they were very grateful to be able to say their last goodbyes. Thank you again.
The decision to move your loved family member into a care home is always complex and emotional. We feel that the environment and care provided by Merlin Court has been exemplary. It is a "safe space" where elderly residents can thrive and interact socially with others, where staff genuinely demonstrate empathy, always smiling and brimming with positivity. Thus allowing extended family to sleep soundly knowing that their mother/father is getting the best care delivered with compassion.
Thank you for your extraordinarily kind review. It is both an honour and a privilege to care for people in their later years, and we are delighted to hear that you are reassured by our home and hope that you and your relative continue to be happy for many years to come. Thank you once again.
I would like to thank the staff at Merlin Court Care Home for the love and care they have shown to my mum and dad over the last four years. My dad died last year and we chose that he his last days at Merlin rather than a hospital. We felt supported in every way in the decisions we made and my dad died with grace and dignity. My mum tells me that she feels lucky because she knows she is safe and my sister and I witness the kindness and respect she receives every time we see her. For that, we are grateful because we can just enjoy being her daughters again.
Thank you for your kind review and we are so pleased that we were, and continue to be, able to support you and your family over the years. It means a lot to the team here to read your kind words and we will make sure that your thoughts are shared. Thank you again.
My father has been at Merlin Court for over a year now and is settled and happy and the staff are welcoming and friendly, they do a great job and are supportive to relatives as well.
Thank you for your kind review; we're delighted that your father is happy and settled. We strive to provide an excellent service, so if you think that there is more we can do, please do let us know. Thank you once again.
My mother was taken in for 2 and a half weeks of respite care after a hospital visit. The staff and all the facilities were first class and she really enjoyed her stay. She returned home in a really good physical and mental condition and enjoyed meeting all the residents and staff. I would thoroughly recommend the care home.
I would recommend Merlin Court to anyone considering the home. Mum has described it as "a happy place", and I find that very reassuring.
Merlin Court Care Home provides a safe, secure, comfortable and homely environment for my Father. He enjoys interactions with the staff who are friendly, helpful and highly competent. He also enjoys the company of other residents and especially with men who are generally in short supply. His room is very clean, bright, comfortable, private and quiet yet he can summon help very quickly. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and safe. My Father feels he belongs there, he also feels safe which is good for him and good for us. Whenever there has been a problem the home has called us very promptly and see to it that meds and care is provided rapidly.

I'm very pleased to hear that your Father feels that he belongs here and that you feel the atmosphere is relaxed and safe. It is our pleasure to support your Father, and I hope he continues to enjoy his time in the home.
Mum was a resident at Merlin Court Care Home for three years. She received wonderful care throughout from the loving and attentive staff. They also went out of their way to support me when Mum died. A truly wonderful team, to whom I owe great thanks.
