Merlin Court is very friendly and has a nice atmosphere with everyone working as a team. My husband, with all his physical disabilities and vascular dementia, was very well looked after with kindness, care and the utmost consideration.
I would always recommend Merlin Court to anyone looking for care

Covid has unfortunately imposed many necessary restrictions re contact with family etc.
Staff unfailingly helpful.
Liaison with GP not very satisfactory.
Gardens beautiful but neglected.

As you recognise, the home team have worked tirelessly throughout the Covid-19 pandemic to care for and support our residents and relatives in line with government and Public Health England guidance. I do appreciate that this has been difficult for everyone, as the opportunity for visits from and maintaining meaningful contact with loved ones has been challenging, especially during periods of isolation. Unfortunately, these have been necessary to prevent the spread of the virus within the home which as you know, has a particularly vulnerable group of people within it.
We hope that you are able to enjoy seeing the gardens take shape into summer once more and that you will continue to share your ideas for the home at the resident committee meetings - my door is always open!

I have been a resident at Merlin Court for 10 months, this has taken quite a lot of adjustment made easier by the support and friendly attitude of the staff who are always there with a friendly cuppa.

Our parents have been resident at Merlin Court for only two months and are already relaxed and comfortable so settling in very well. The manager and his team have provided first-class professional care and are extremely dedicated and proficient in every aspect of what they do. Whilst the care they provide
is clearly a priority, the home itself is tastefully decorated and has a calm ambiance. The cleanliness, safety and food are of a high standard and the facilities are no different to that of a quality hotel with lovely gardens and a superb location. The communication is faultless and any requests are dealt with promptly and nothing is too much trouble. This week it was Dad’s birthday and they delivered once again! It would be fair to say the manager and his team are excellent role models for this industry and indeed industries alike. If we could say we’ve only done one good thing this year, selecting Merlin Court for our parents is certainly a decision we are proud to have made.

Both of my parents were very well cared for in the last years of their lives. The staff consistently went out of their way to do the little things that matter so much to residents, going above and beyond normal duties. My parents were always treated with dignity and respect. Our family felt the carers

Both my parents spent the last years of their lives in Merlin Court. They had differing needs and during their time in the home, they received a very high standard of care, which was specific and appropriate to their individual situations. They were looked after with care and compassion and treated

Visiting unexpectedly an old school friend who has been at Merlin Court about 18 months with her husband who has now died. What a beautiful place. The warmest of welcomes, a hot drink and cakes and then to our friend's room - it was superb. She is very happy here and we could see her care was superb.
We have visited many friends in homes over the last few years but this was the best ever.

My father recently moved into Merlin Court. Having visited many care homes over the years, I can say, without doubt, Merlin Court is by far and away the best I have ever seen. The feel of the home more resembles a hotel than a care home with excellent facilities throughout. Bright and airy and easy
to move around, the most outstanding feature of Merlin Court, however, is the fantastic staff who are kind, respectful and patient. You won't find a better place.

Cleanliness is generally good but sometimes the area under the bed is messy. Perhaps cleaning could be done when mum is having a meal. Small issue but often the coffee shop is missing cups, spoons, forks but the cake is always good. The coffee shop is a good facility. Can't comment too much on the food
as I'm never there at mealtimes. Mum doesn't like too big a plate of food so maybe a smaller portion would be better, then seconds.

Merlin Court is a very well run care home. The reception area, lounges, dining room and cafe are very pleasant and attractively designed. A range of activities are programmed every day for the residents which they can enjoy and where they can socialise with the other residents. The residents are well
cared for in every respect from the food and drinks they are served, to the help they are given with routines such as washing and dressing. Most importantly the carers show great kindness and consideration to the residents who appreciate greatly their cheerful manner. There is a good community atmosphere in the home which each resident is part of.

My Aunt, who had dementia, was a resident for over 2 years. She was cared for in a very caring, calm way which enabled her to feel settled and content. Her personal choices were respected. She was a great pianist and the staff maintained this interest and she played the homes piano regularly.
The
staff were friendly, professional and knowledgable and she received excellent end of life care with the support from the district nurses.
The Care Home has a calm, happy feel to it. The staff are very welcoming, high standard of housekeeping, good food and a varied activities programme.

We cannot thank the staff enough for their care and support to my grandmother during the last year of her life. My parents were so well looked after when Gran died, they really made her final days calm and peaceful as she wanted without going to the hospital.

My Mum was admitted to Merlin Court Care Home in July this year for rest bite, recommended by her doctor. She is now going to be a permanent resident. In the short time she has been there we have seen such a difference with her and she has improved so much. My mum seems very happy and the care she is
receiving is excellent. All of the staff are very friendly which has made the transition much easier for all of the family.
