My father was not bedbound throughout this period and was able to look after himself with very appropriate support from all the staff. He was well fed and made to feel as comfortable as possible with the configuration of the rooms optimised to suit the circumstances. The ability of my wife and I to visit as frequently as possible and stay over when needed is something we were extremely grateful for and certainly helped my father deal with the difficult situation. I can only express how grateful we were to all the staff.
Thank you very much for your feedback this means a lot to me and my team.

Last week on Valentine's Day I attended an afternoon tea - there were red balloons, roses, cakes, music and so much more. The atmosphere was amazing and although my mum cannot communicate anymore - she was holding my hand tightly and moving to the music.
I was so impressed with the whole event and the home - that I have now offered to volunteer.
I really can sleep at night knowing that my mum is in very safe hands.

My mum has dementia and last year my siblings and I took the difficult decision to move Mum, recently widowed, from her home, into White Lodge. It was the best thing we ever did for her. She settled in well, made friends and gets involved in all sorts of activities, both in the home and in the local area. She loves the staff and knows they care for her. My siblings and I are so relieved and can relax knowing that she is safe in a professionally run and caring environment.

Always a pleasure to come here, as I see staff enjoying their work and connecting with the residents. Everyone's so friendly and helpful. I have been coming here for a number of years, so I have got to know the staff and residents, and seeing the smiling faces always brings a warm feeling to me.

Really care given. Nothing is missed or avoided. Comfort is the number one priority to all genders. It doesn't seem like a hospice. Nothing is too much trouble in any shape or form. I express my gratitude and well being for all and sundry.

My wife was terminally ill when she was placed in White Lodge at the behest of social services. It was a sound decision and during my wife's time at White Lodge, she has given exemplary care. A feature of White Lodge is the 'can do' attitude of the staff at all levels and their sense of urgency. White Lodge exudes a warm atmosphere that is the product of the empathy the staff have with their patients. I am very grateful for the manner of its care for my wife at the end of her life. White Lodge is very well managed!
Thank you so much for your kind feedback. It was a privilege to care for your wife. It is so positive to hear about the "can do" attitude as the team really does pride themselves on not only reacting, but also taking time to spend with those for whom they care for. I have passed your feedback on as it really does mean a lot to the team.

All the staff worked extremely hard to give each resident a happy experience. 'Call' buttons were answered immediately. Nurses were knowledgeable and professional in their duties. I felt that residents could have been encouraged to sit outside in the beautiful grounds. Wheelchair users could have benefitted from having volunteers to wheel them outside. The food was of a good standard and portions were adequate.
Activities encouraged me to play the piano.
Staff were very freindly.

My friend is a resident at Barchester White Lodge Care Home in Swindon and is very happy living there. When I visited her recently, she told me how she loved her comfortable room, the meals were tasty, and how helpful and kind all the staff were. She also told me how much she enjoyed the activities that were offered and the effort and hard work of the activities coordinator went out of her way to make sure she was taking part in things she enjoyed. I saw how nice and clean her room was and was able to take her out for a walk in the beautiful grounds of White Lodge. I also got to meet the activities coordinator and had a lovely chat with her. She is very friendly, caring and makes a big effort to keep the residents busy and occupied. There is a wide and varied program that changes weekly and there are plenty of books, games and newspapers always available.

The residents I come into contact with are happy and relaxed and are clearly very fond of the activities Coordinator as she is them. The home is always beautifully clean and fresh and very well maintained as is the garden. I feel privileged to be able to visit White Lodge as a volunteer and my dog is always happy to see the residents. White Lodge is a very special place.

Hello, my name is Ramona, and I'm the Senior General Manager here at White Lodge. Welcome to our website!
I joined Barchester in 2018 as a Clinical Lead, progressing to Deputy Manager, General Manager and most recently promoted to Senior General Manager of White Lodge.
My focus at White Lodge is to ensure residents have the best possible life and experiences every single day, supported by the skilled and caring team here. I am committed to person-centred care for all our residents, and my door is always open to them and their families.
I have a real passion for nursing, beginning my nursing career in 2004 in Romania as a cardiac nurse. I moved to the UK with my family in 2011, and I have worked in adult general nursing in the UK since then.
For anyone considering care for themselves or for a loved one, our doors are open for you to visit and meet the team.

I joined White Lodge as a Care Assistant in February 2026 and, after gaining valuable experience working closely with our residents and their families, I have recently progressed into my role as an Admin Assistant.
My time as a Care Assistant gave me the opportunity to get to know our residents on a personal level and understand how important it is to create a warm, welcoming and supportive environment. Moving into administration has allowed me to develop new skills while continuing to build the relationships I have made with residents, relatives and colleagues.
I particularly enjoy being part of the day-to-day life at White Lodge and meeting the wonderful people who make our home so special. Whether it is having a friendly conversation, supporting families with their queries or helping behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly, I enjoy knowing that my role contributes to the positive experience of our residents.
I feel very proud to be part of the White Lodge team and look forward to continuing to grow in my role.

My name is Suraj, and I am the Activity Coordinator here at White Lodge. I have been part of the Barchester family for the past four years, and during this time I have had the opportunity to develop my skills, build meaningful relationships with residents, families and friends and gain a deeper understanding of person-centred care.
For me, activities are much more than simply filling time. They are about creating meaningful moments, encouraging independence, building confidence and helping residents maintain connections with the people, interests and communities that are important to them.
Most importantly, I want every resident to feel that their voice matters, their interests are valued and that there is always something to look forward to.

I am Hamzat. I joined the White Lodge Care Home team in August 2022 as a Health Care Assistant. Since then, through dedication, consistent performance, and commitment to high standards of care, I have progressed to the role of Senior Carer – a meaningful step that reflects my growing expertise and readiness to take on greater responsibility.Over my time here, I have built strong capabilities across core areas of care, particularly in communication: I connect empathetically with residents, families, and colleagues, ensuring everyone feels heard, valued, and fully informed about care plans and daily life at the home.
I have also taken on two important champion roles that shape how we deliver care:
- Speak Up Champion: I encourage open, honest communication across the team, helping colleagues feel safe to raise concerns, share ideas, and speak up for the safety and wellbeing of residents
- Dementia Champion: I lead by example in delivering person-centred support for those living with dementia, promoting understanding, dignity, and approaches that help residents maintain independence and enjoy meaningful moments.Being part of White Lodge has given me the ideal environment to broaden my knowledge across both care and hospitality. I have learned that great care goes beyond meeting physical needs – it also means creating a warm, welcoming, and comfortable “home” atmosphere, where kindness, respect, and attention to detail make every day better for those we support. This experience has deepened my passion for care work and prepared me to take on further leadership and development opportunities in the future.

Hi, my name is Riva and I work as a Senior Carer at White Lodge. Having spent 10 years as a Care Assistant I was incredibly proud to be promoted to Senior Carer and love what I do here at White Lodge.

Hi, my name is Akshay, and I'm a care assistant here at White Lodge Care Home. I have been working here for over 2 years and take great pride in keeping our residents safe and well.
