Rated Outstanding by the CQC (January 2021), Downs View care centre in Bradbury caters for elderly residents with varying stages of dementia.

The home enjoys stunning views over the Downs and has 51 individual bedrooms. 43 are en-suite.

There is also a suite for couples and guests for privacy. The home has two large lounges and a sun lounge for relaxation.

Downs View has recently had the benefit of a dementia-specific designed, large accessible sensory garden with safe, soft walkways and accessible flower beds with seating areas.

Fresh meals are prepared daily by the chef using local suppliers. Residents can choose their meal based on personal or dietary requirements.

My mum moved into the care home last June. This was the hardest thing I ever had to do! But the care mum has received is outstanding. Covid didn't help as we weren't allowed to see her. Now we can see mum, it's lovely to see her settled and getting around the clock care she needs. Thank you

The whole team at Downs View have supported my mother's admission into their care. With the Covid-19 issues I was not able to support mum but they have taken excellent steps to ensure a stress-free arrival for us both.

The care and support my mum receives is excellent. Staff are always patient and kind and I am confident she is well cared for, although we have not been able to see mum due to the present lockdown being in place.

My mother was a very difficult patient when she first went into Downs View, and she was still treated with the greatest respect. She is now bedridden, and she is still cared for in the same way. I have nothing but praise for the staff and their kindness towards her.

I have always found the staff very approachable, always there with a friendly ear if you need it. They have always treated my mum with dignity and shown her great care and love. It is a great comfort to me and my family to know that she is so well cared for, especially now with the situation regarding
Coronavirus. They have been fantastic throughout this difficult time and we have been able to FaceTime Mum on a regular basis and see that she is happy and healthy during the time we have not been able to visit her. Can't thank them enough.

I am extremely happy with Downs View Care Centre as all the staff go above and beyond to make sure all residents are safe and happy. Since lockdown it's been lovely to see all photos on Facebook and I can see all their smiling faces as they enjoy all the activities you are providing so well done for
that. Can't wait to see the next lot. It's been the best decision I have made because all the staff are friendly and always willing to help.

I am very happy with the care my mother receives at Downsview. The staff are wonderful and take such good care of all the residents, especially over the last few months when I have been unable to visit. The photos of activities posted on Facebook have been lovely. A huge 'thank you' to all staff.

Staff work very hard in challenging circumstances but deal with things very well in a professional and calm manner. Our visits have always found the staff to be happy and cheerful towards residents and my mother always appears happy and contented.

My father suffers from dementia and is blind. The staff are caring, understanding and help the residents keep their dignity, as well as supporting families at this difficult time. All staff are pleasant and hard working and always have a smile. Thank you to all.

Mum moved into Downs View Care Centre due to dementia and Alzheimers. I was always kept up to date and nothing was ever too much trouble. From Xmas '17, Mum became very ill and ended up in hospital. Mum refused to eat and drink and pulled out needles telling me that she did not want them working closely
with the unit leader and manager. A full end of life was put into place with Mum going back to Downs View Care Centre. She was treated with dignity and respect and I could not fault. Thank you to all the care staff. Excellent.

We are very pleased with my father's care and he seems very happy to be in here. Every time we come and visit my dad, everyone is very happy and the carers are lovely and very caring. We love the garden and sitting out there in the summer. They organise a lot of things for the residents and my dad joins
in which he never did when he lived at home. No complaints.

Warm friendly home with great staff team. Visited a friend there and was amazed by the kindness of all the staff. My friend is so happy and all other people appear happy and well looked after. There was training happening with staff but they allowed residents to sit in and they were not asked to leave
at any point.

My mother has spent the last 5 years of her life in Downs View Care Home suffering from dementia and its accompanying problems. During this time she has received what we consider wonderful care and attention from all staff from the manager downwards. At her passing, the whole bereavement was handled
with great dignity and respect. Badbury Care offers residents a very good standard of personal care, attention, warmth and cleanliness. For the care my mother received, I can't thank them enough and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending to anyone who needs what my mother needed at a certain time of life.

I want to commend this Nursing home to anyone looking for a good care home for their relative. My mum moved to Downs View Care Centre on June 27th this year on her birthday. She had always wanted to remain in her own home but sadly it was not possible and after several weeks in the hospital, she was
discharged to Downs View. I followed the ambulance transport and we were greeted by cheerful and very helpful staff who did their best to help Mum settle and understand her needs. She had very good care and we were also well listened to by the staff when we had any concerns or questions. Sadly Mum died 3 weeks after moving there. The care given on the day she died and the communication with us to enable us to get to the hospital was very good. We are thankful that the last weeks of Mum's life were in such a caring environment and a beautiful location.

Hello! My name is Amanda and I have worked for Coate Water Care since 2008. I have worked in care for a total of 24 years so far, achieving Level 5 management of health and social care.


The staff at Downsview always go above and beyond their roles to enhance the lives of the people we care for and I am very proud to call them my team.


I love interacting with my residents and their families and my passion is dementia Care. I have been responsible for working alongside and supporting other dementia care homes within the CWC group.
