My dear husband was admitted to Princess Lodge Care Centre with a diagnosis of Lew body dementia. From the first day he was treated with dignity by nurses, carers, management and reception played a big part. The care was exceptional until his death in January 2022. I could never have chosen a better place for my husband to end his days. Congratulations and thank you to all the staff at Princess Lodge.

The staff at Princess Lodge Care Centre took great care of my mum in her final months. They all showed such sympathy and professionalism, always allowing mum to maintain her dignity despite her struggles with dementia and anxiety, as well as Coivd. I have no hesitation in recommending Princess Lodge Care Centre.

I just travelled back to England this past October to visit my Mum who is a resident of Princess Lodge care home. It’s been over 2 and half years since I have been able to visit due to the pandemic and I must say that the staff treated me and my daughter superbly. This care home has an incredible staff. They are all so kind and caring and professional. The care that my Mum receives is exemplary. The staff really do care about your loved ones and make sure they are treated the same way that you would yourself. All I can say is that I was very impressed and happy with the level of care, and the friendliness of all the staff members I met. Thank you guys for taking such good care of my beloved Mum. It is a great relief being so far away to know that she is well taken care of. I’d love to name all of you in this review but too many to mention.

My father spent a number of months in the care at Princess Lodge Care Centre until he passed away whilst in care in late August 2021. During visits to see my father, and also over a video call service regularly used, it was clear he was very settled and happy. The staff knew him well and looked after him. He was not shy in commenting if anything was wrong, especially the food, but he always said that the food was good!
During phone calls I made the staff were always polite and if I was unable to contact the nurse they took a message and always called back.

Summary - clean and well-organised home with great levels of care - thank you.

The care and love shown to my wife in her two and a half years with Princess Lodge has been superb throughout and that service was shown to me whilst I was struggling with the agony of losing my wife to Alzheimer's and then the consequences of Covid lockdowns. It truly has been beyond measure. The staff became our family and I will miss them all. Truly 5-star! My family have strict instructions to send me there if I need care. God bless you all and well done!

My Aunt was admitted to Princess Lodge Care Centre following a transfer from an acute mental health unit as she could no longer live at home. I cannot praise Princess Lodge enough for their compassion and care throughout her time there. From the care staff, administration and the management team, we were always treated with kindness and respect. Sadly my Aunt passed away on the 17th of November. Because of Covid, visiting has not been possible but the staff kept me informed throughout. Thankfully I was allowed to say my goodbyes and take comfort in the fact that she passed peacefully with caring staff around her. Thank you.

All staff are incredible at Princess Lodge. They are caring, helpful and everything you would expect from those looking after your loved ones. Both my brother and his wife (now deceased) have lived there for several years. Since my sister-in-law's passing, the staff have been really great at making sure my brother has had the best attention they can give. During COVID they have kept me updated with his health and when appropriate I have been able to speak with him over the phone. They are very attentive to his health concerns and deal with issues that arise quickly and efficiently. I can't really ask for more. Long may it continue.

Both my mother and father-in-law are in Plodge (as we now affectionately call it). Father for 8 months Mum for two weeks. We fought to get Mum into Plodge as they had been so superb with Dad.
The staff are very caring to both residents and family and are always willing “to go the extra mile”. Nothing appears to be much trouble for them.
The building is spacious, welcoming and friendly. The menu is very good and again just ask and the Chef will willingly do different things for you.

Thank you all at Plodge.

After many months of living in care homes in London, we managed to get a placement for my brother in Princess Lodge Care Home in October 2019. Although his general health and dementia were deteriorating his whole appearance seemed to improve during his stay.
The staff were caring and delightful and looked after his needs amazingly well.
Our only regret is that we were unable to get him transferred sooner.

We would happily recommend this home to anyone.

My dad was a resident of Princess Lodge in February 2019. Dad was sadly only a resident for three days before passing away but in that short time the Manager and her staff managed to renew our faith in care homes completely.
The care shown to not only my dad but also the entire family during my dads time in the home was exceptional. The senior nurse in charge of Dad was extremely efficient. When Dad became a resident he immediately wanted to know all the relevant information about him, in terms of his medical needs and also his character and what was normal for him. Throughout the time Dad was a resident he was treated by all members of staff with dignity, caring and compassion. As we spent time at Dad's beside we were able to see for ourselves that this was how all residents were treated by all members of staff.

My family and I would like to thank Princess Lodge for all the kindness, caring and compassion they showed to Dad and us all.

My Father was taken in by Princess Care Centre on Thurs 7th Feb and died on Sunday 10th Feb. He suffered with advanced Dementia and had been in hospital for nearly 3 weeks prior to entering the home.

The home is amazing. It's very well maintained, the rooms are lovely and its well organised. The Manager knows each member of staff and there is mutual respect between both. There feels like a genuine concern for patient care and this was our experience. The Senior nurse instantly tried to get a full understanding of Dad's situation and medication. He wanted to know everything. He also quickly realised when Dad was passing and advised us to get to the home at once. Local family member then had the time to be there at the end.

My Family cannot thank Princess Care Home enough. They have restored my faith in care homes and I have no hesitation in recommending this Home to anyone

My mother resided at Princess Lodge only a short time before her death, she was treated extremely well while she was there, I would highly recommend this care centre.
Staff were always attentive, polite and caring not only for my mother but for myself.

I was very concerned about putting my mother in a care home centre with all the bad press but Princess Lodge has dismissed my worries. Highly recommended.

Dignity and care are excellent. The staff are professional and treat all residents with the utmost of respect.

The food and beverages are always varied and plentiful. If a resident changes their mind or does not like it on the day, they will do all they can to get a different meal. I feel activities are lacking and need to be improved.

Emanuel Olari
Emanuel OlariJob Title:ManagerJoined: 2022

I have been a Registered Nurse for over 8 Years and providing the people living with us at Princess Lodge with an environment where they receive excellence in all aspects of their care is of the utmost importance to me. I started my career working in the Isle of Wight as a care assistant for over a year before moving to Northampton where I joined MMCG in 2017.

Starting as a nurse with MMCG, I received the support I needed to improve my skills and gain the knowledge needed to be promoted to deputy manager. I continued my career progression and went on to become a nurse practitioner in the clinical quality team, and finally moved to be a quality excellence partner to support homes at a national level, one of which was Princess Lodge.

I enjoyed supporting Princess Lodge and the people working and living at the home and I was pleased to have been given the opportunity to manage it in 2022.

Shortly after and under my management I am proud to say that we got a CQC good rating which I believe is attributed in part, to the home-from-home feel that has been created.

I operate an open-door policy for the people living, working, and visiting Princess Lodge so they always have an opportunity to speak to me within a supportive environment.
