Unsatisfied with the treatment mum was given and staff were very unhelpful. My mother's belongings went missing.

My mom was moved to Perry Locks in March 2019. After a few years of struggling to keep mom in her flat, we decided to move her to full-time care. This was the best decision we made for mom as she is the happiest we have seen her for years. The staff are fantastic and very caring. Mom's dementia has
not deteriorated since this move, she is kept active and engaged. We are so grateful as a family.

Staff at Brooklyn House in Perry Locks Care Home, are wonderful, they work really hard and always find the time to answer our questions. They show kindness and compassion towards our mum at all times.

My husband is well looked after no complaints. Only sometimes he has to wait longer to be changed because of staff problems, otherwise, he is well cared for.

(Brooklyn House) Mother-in-law went in temporarily direct from hospital admission. We were greeted very pleasantly by staff, made to feel very welcome and part of an extended family. I have been there at meal times and all the meals have been fresh with a large variety of choice. I have visited during
the day and joined in the activities from card bingo, quizzes to food tasting and a drink in The Brooklyn. We have managed to see services such as chiropodist, optician and visited the in house hairdresser. I find all the staff very friendly from the laundry lady to the management team. We are so pleased to have this service that it is now a permanent placement. Thank you all.

HC-One is understaffed. The quality of care is very poor. Rooms are dirty and furniture needs replacing. The staff are too busy to entertain or look after the residents properly. Quite often residents are calling out for a nurse to change their pads or take them to the bathroom. In general, the care
home is deteriorating. Buildings and gardens need to be refurbished. My mother cannot eat the food because it is also a very poor standard.

The staff at Perry Locks rose to the challenge of looking after my father whose health and welfare deteriorated over time. He was always treated with dignity and the family were well informed regarding our father. Perry Locks facilitated meetings with key groups of professionals to ensure my father's
best interest was catered for. Given the choice again I would use again Perry Locks.

Extremely helpful staff. Residents (full time and temporary as my mother) showed dignity, patience, care, kindness, respect and love. Staff try and make sure all get care and help and when required assistance, be it medical or practical. Home has a lovely friendly comfortable "Homely" atmosphere. Nursery
staff are approachable and all staff across the board (cleaners, kitchen staff and those with direct resident contact all seem to do their very best for those living in the home. Admin and management seem to keep things running.

All the staff treat each resident as an individual and take time to learn individual preferences regarding name and choice of clothes/food. This enables each to retain personal dignity. The menu is varied with food attractively presented and generally of good quality. The rooms are clean. There is very

The Brooklyn Arms is a nice pub idle in this place as it keeps you in touch with the feeling of outside the complex. Staff are lovely as well and drinks are great. It's a must visit place.

I visit Perry Locks twice a week and find the staff caring, helpful and friendly but most of the time they are short staffed which means the residents do have to wait for help to go to the toilet etc.

Although mom didn't like being in a care home (whichever one she was in) I felt comfortable with her being there. She was well looked after and the staff were lovely and attentive to her. From what I observed, mom was treated with dignity and respect. Her room was spacious and she was able to have her
own tv and personal effects with her. The only negative was no ensuite facilities. Mom was encouraged to spend her days in the day lounge with other residents and she did make some new friends. Mom was not mobile so relied on staff to move her around, but they were always available for her when she needed them. I wasn't able to visit more than once a week, but when I did visit, there did seem to be social activities, and the staff also interacted with the residents. Thanks for taking care of my mom. It's not easy getting old when you have to rely on others for support but you made her as comfortable as you could.

It is a lovely home, both staff, management and residents are lovely and are very friendly.
The staff are all very approachable.
Visitors are also made very welcome. It gives us great peace of mind to know Dad is looked after and he is happy.

“Kind care to me is empowering and involving our Residents in their own care as well as promoting their dignity, health and wellbeing.”


As a Registered Adult Nurse with a BSc degree in Adult Nursing accompanied by an MSc in Public Health, Patience has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked at HC-One since 2015, Patience closely shares HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Patience remarked: “My favourite thing about being a Home Manager is the ability to work closely with a group of people with different skills and talents. Having the opportunity to support and watch Colleagues develop professionally is very fulfilling to me.”


Patience has achieved much throughout her life, with one of her proudest achievements has been her career development through HC-One. Patience started as a carer in 2015 and was promoted to Senior Carer, whilst this was happening, she was also attending nursing school which allowed her to become a Unit Manager. Once Patience had completed her degrees, she became a Deputy Home Manager and now holds the Home Manager position.


Outside of work, Patience enjoys cooking for her family and spending quality time with them.
