Night staff not treating me with dignity. Left in soiled pads etc. for a very long time. Complaint made. The day staff was very good, no complaints. Due to coronavirus, we were in our rooms quite a lot and unable to fully appreciate all facilities. Was there for respite after a hospital stay.

My father has been a resident for the last four weeks. Do date I have found the staff accommodating, informative, and attends to their needs. They have demonstrated to date that they take time to understand how best to deal with each resident in a respectful manner. Also very important to the resident are kept clean throughout their stay. The activities they also provide are also good.

The staff at Perry Locks were extremely friendly, helpful and respectful to my mother. One was especially helpful and informative. My mother eventually returned home but I will certainly be contacting Perry Locks in the future as and when she needs residential care as I would not hesitate to entrust my mother's care to them again.

Thank you.

Unsatisfied with the treatment mum was given and staff were very unhelpful. My mother's belongings went missing.

My mom was moved to Perry Locks in March 2019. After a few years of struggling to keep mom in her flat, we decided to move her to full-time care. This was the best decision we made for mom as she is the happiest we have seen her for years. The staff are fantastic and very caring. Mom's dementia has not deteriorated since this move, she is kept active and engaged. We are so grateful as a family.

My husband is well looked after no complaints. Only sometimes he has to wait longer to be changed because of staff problems, otherwise, he is well cared for.

Reply from Clare Sheehan, TBC at Perry Locks Care Home

(Brooklyn House) Mother-in-law went in temporarily direct from hospital admission. We were greeted very pleasantly by staff, made to feel very welcome and part of an extended family. I have been there at meal times and all the meals have been fresh with a large variety of choice. I have visited during the day and joined in the activities from card bingo, quizzes to food tasting and a drink in The Brooklyn. We have managed to see services such as chiropodist, optician and visited the in house hairdresser. I find all the staff very friendly from the laundry lady to the management team. We are so pleased to have this service that it is now a permanent placement. Thank you all.

HC-One is understaffed. The quality of care is very poor. Rooms are dirty and furniture needs replacing. The staff are too busy to entertain or look after the residents properly. Quite often residents are calling out for a nurse to change their pads or take them to the bathroom. In general, the care home is deteriorating. Buildings and gardens need to be refurbished. My mother cannot eat the food because it is also a very poor standard.

Reply from Claire Hurworth, Care Line Manager at Perry Locks Care Home

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you feel our standards have not met your Mother’s requirements. We will be making contact with you shortly, to invite you and your Mother for a care plan review. Meanwhile, if we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the Home Manager direct.

We as a family are extremely appreciative of the excellent care our sister/sister-in-law is receiving. She has not been as happy for years as she is in Perry Locks, being looked after by such caring and family-like staff. All the facilities are excellent, especially the food. We all feel that she is in safe hands and we can take comfort from that.

The staff at Perry Locks rose to the challenge of looking after my father whose health and welfare deteriorated over time. He was always treated with dignity and the family were well informed regarding our father. Perry Locks facilitated meetings with key groups of professionals to ensure my father's best interest was catered for. Given the choice again I would use again Perry Locks.

Extremely helpful staff. Residents (full time and temporary as my mother) showed dignity, patience, care, kindness, respect and love. Staff try and make sure all get care and help and when required assistance, be it medical or practical. Home has a lovely friendly comfortable "Homely" atmosphere. Nursery staff are approachable and all staff across the board (cleaners, kitchen staff and those with direct resident contact all seem to do their very best for those living in the home. Admin and management seem to keep things running.

All the staff treat each resident as an individual and take time to learn individual preferences regarding name and choice of clothes/food. This enables each to retain personal dignity. The menu is varied with food attractively presented and generally of good quality. The rooms are clean. There is very good supervision with attention paid to specific needs.
